@TheRisingforce2000 If you want to talk who has the best "tone" in the sense of who understands when and how to stress certain vowels and consonants, who can sing with the clearest tone in most ranges, Bruce takes it easily. As well he has one of the most INSTANTLY recognizable voices in metal. Dianno's sound was one born from the street, which is great but you can't compare it to a guy at nearly an operatic level. I can only say that for you and I it's a matter of personal preference.
@codebabe i didnt say bruce sucks because hes alright its just the vocals on the albums with dianno are mt favorite,to me its like comparing bon scott to brian johnson
Sabbath,Priest,Maiden= 3 greatest and most influential heavy metal bands of all time =D each 1 of these bands has released a string of flawless albums
It depends on what you mean by flawless. Judas Priest has actually released a few albums that were considered "bad" (Turbo, Jugulator, and Demolition in particular). As for Maiden, Virtual XI was considered to be their worst.
I don't keep up with Sabbath as much, so I have nothing to say about them. :)
ya those were the bad priest albums but everything else is rly gr8 stuff, and for me the first 4 maiden albums are sum of the best metal albums ever written, sabbath's first 4 albums and their albums with Dio are incredible..so ya..those r wat i consider flawless albums =)
I believe that Priest's flawless period was from Sin After Sin all the way up to Defenders of the Faith. I like Angel of Retribution, Ram It Down, and Painkiller too. As for Maiden, Virtual XI was really the only bad album they released. My fav albums by them are Powerslave, Seventh Son, Somewhere in Time, Brave New World, and Piece of Mind.
It's not one of the first that's bull. What about Master of Reality, Stained Class, Saxon, maiden had already released a pretty "metal" demo. I think it is safe to say you know shit for the most part, except for the mustaine part in your name. Fuckin' killing is my business is the best metal album on the planet. But BS is BS, and fuckin' boring. Rob doesn't scream maybe once in the whole thing.
agreed stained class is a heavy album but i said nothing to bring confrontation to the conversation not sure why you got so defensive british steel is olne of the first true metal albums and if you knew me you would know i do know what i am talking about, yeah rob does not scream very much but they were making a transition at that point that album has some of the most inspiring riffs solos and lyrics of all time it's heavy no doubt about it one of the first too other than sabbaths
however i will admit that stained class and sin after sin are heavier but what i was meaning was that is was really the the first iconic metal album other than paranoid and master of reality and reality is not even that iconic just real heavy......and rob is never boring not even on british steel
well I'll give you that it was one of the most commercially succesfull for the time, but metal was already going by then. And I thought British Steel had some recycled riffs and wasn't varied enough. I like the first 4 more than the rest, but that's just where I come from with discovering the band.
k dude i respect that and i am not saying that it was the best priest album my favorite is sad wings of destiny then stained class then painkiller but i have lots of love for all priest albums and i love steel alot but my respect for everyone elses opinion is definatly there man :)
The only reason I think it's a big deal amongst the priest albums is because it was commercially successful. Every poser I know only knows that priest album, and thinks breaking the law is the greatest thing they've ever done. You ask em about stained class or sad wings and they're like, "duhhhh....." haha
yeah and you probably thought i was a poser but believe it or not i own all of their albums and even have them tattooed on my arm and i am a huge fan.....but i have ran into people that only kn ow painkiller and breaking the law and only from those damn guitar hero games or rockband or somthing
actually I did, and the sad thing is that now since those games are such a corporate machine I have to check what songs are on it so if I'm talking to someone and they say they like a certain song or something I'll be prepared to know they're a poser because I'll ask which albums they own. and suprise, the answer is none. They know a song or two if they get lucky.
and my favorite band is Megadeth. I have all the studio and live albums, singles, a tape of their So far so good album and am looking for killing is my business. I don't have any tattoos but I have a patch from the Hanger 18 single's CD. the Nuclear sign. And of course like any fan of thrash, the first 3 are the best even though I like em all. And just like priest you have to watch for the symphony of destruction posers who only know that song.
I thinks it's pretty good. I got it on the day it came out at 8 in the morning. I went to like 4 stores until I found one that had it. There were like 5 of us looking around for it. But it's a step up once you let it grow on you. The opener Dialectic Chaos and this day we fight are fast. but it has lots of groove-like parts, but it's catchy ass hell. I think the best songs are this day we fight, 44 minutes, 1320, bodies, Headcrusher, and How the story ends. Lots of solos too. Dave shreds alot.
thats good i hav heard dialectic and this day we fight as well as 1320 and head crusher and it all sounds pretty damn good and dave better not let broderick take all the glory nothing is better then hearing a dave mustaine solo like the ones on burnt ice those were dave at his best
There's lots of back to back solos and trade offs. I thought Dave was really good. He didn't try to be melodic and such like Marty on the past few albums. It was him being himself.
i saw paul di anno last friday he is good in his own style man i got a pic with him and his autograph and he thanked me cause the crowd wa sbeeing a bitch and i told him not to get pissed they are a bunch of poser fags
I remember writing a letter to the band back in the 1980's. I addressed the letter to Iron Maiden, 22 Acacia Avenue, East London.
