  • I find the combination/oily version is a medium coverage, and it's a bit lighter than the normal/dry skin version in the same colour. I'm not sure if you have one or not, but maybe you could do a video on your favourite full coverage foundations? I need them for work, and I tend to have bad skin.

  • *likes

    Sorry!

  • J, I just realized you are me in a nutshell. A writer who lieks to play with makeup...Hehe!

But would you recommend this foundation for school?

  • @WhiteCloudArt I'd suggest trying it on a non-school day first. Apparently some people like me, are saying it's light coverage, which might be nice, especially if your school doesn't like makeup, but if you're one of the people who says it gives them full coverage it may look like too much to get away with at school. So I'd say give it an at home test first.

  • @ThePinkLadyJ The Revlon Colorstay with the matte black cap (The combination/Oily skin version) gives a fantastic coverage and lasts for ages... Maybe the version with the clear-on-black cap is more liquidy, and that could be why there's such a difference in coverage? That's interesting!

  • Ur sooooooooooooo rite...I was so not impressed with this foundation its hard to even blend and its def a light coverage...altho u shouldn't wear makeup at the gym I do and it is however a good gym makeup :)

  • I have awful skin...I have since I was 12 and I'm 30 now. There is nothing I can do about it. It acts up if I wear makeup or not. I love this foundation in the oily skin formula. It has amazing coverage. Try it in the combination/ oily formula.

  • This foundation is my holy grail. It covers my freckles... it's just more than amazing.

  • wow its soooo full coverage for me and i have horrible acne skin... just proves every1 is different i dont like the type for oily skin though it is wonky colors in oily skin version

  • with the color stay foundation i have bought three different colors and found that all of them had a different coverage level! i emailed revlon with this query and they said that when choosing color stay you should choose a shade 1 or 2 shades up from your own skin tone :) for it to have a high coverage affect! x

  • Ive had 2 samples of this, heard a few reviews on it and Im STILL on the fence over it. Thanks for the review hun. My combination skin is SO finicky.

  • im really enjoying all your new videos , i cant wait for your future tutorials!

  • @snaps6595 Thank you. The new filming station is almost ready. I'm just waiting for my new storage cart to come in the mail. It should get here before the week is over so I hope to be taking requests for makeup looks and getting some made by next weekend.

  • Yes, I have this foundation and it's so light in coverage.

  • @BatcaveDilemma It didn't even cover my freckles and my freckles are very light and hardly noticeable. It's okay for now but when my skin gets crazy later it's just not going to be enough.

  • i think u would like the revlon lip butters. there great. i use revlon colorstay as a concealer, it's to heavy all over the face.

  • Man, this covers me like WOAH, LOL! I actually used it on my friend's face yesterday, and her skin is very oily, lots of acne...then again, I stippled it on. You might want to try that.

  • @kragey Good suggest I don't think I've tried stippling yet. I might have to get a new brush for it though.

  • theres two versions of it one for "combination/oily skin" and another for "normal/dry skin" judging by the cap it looks like you have the one for normal/dry skin which tends to be the sheerer of the two...ALSO you should try it with a flat top brush like the elf studio flat top powder brush, i find that it's perfect for this foundation....hope it helps

  • @IMakeBoyzJizz Well I wanted to try this one because this winter my skin is actually dry (definitely not usual for someone like me but I figured I'd try a foundation to go with it). But it's good to hear the oily skin version might have better coverage. I actually don't have a flat top brush, I should really get one of those.

  • it seems that you have the version for dry skin, the one for oily skin might have more coverage

  • @aimsteroo Well I wanted to try this one because this winter my skin is actually dry (definitely not usual for someone like me but I figured I'd try a foundation to go with it). But it's good to hear the oily skin version might have better coverage.

  • In my opinion i think its pretty full coverage, i just hate how it sets on my face. it looks very caked up and even turns my skin a bit orange. Rimmel Lasting Finnish will always be my number one drugstore foundation, works for every skin type, bc ive had my dry and oily moments. and it also is very buildable. you should check that foundation next (((:
