    Bad- back up!!!

  • If Disney was so influential, why does Tezuka's style look more like Max Fleischer's?

Not that there's anything wrong with that: Fleischer was a pioneering legend of animation.

  • I'M POPEYE

  • "Imo-ni-kai"

  • you've gota love her design, I'm totally buying the figurine from jlist

  • awesime show is awesome thanks for upping it =3

  • Anime will never be same anymore if Disney will merger with toei! it would be a nightmare

  • Well, considering the first ever manga and anime was inspired by Mickey Mouse...

  • I thought betty Boop was the initial inspiration for Anime type character portrayals.

  • Interesting, though I don't know how you came to that conclusion, but interesting nonetheless.

  • Well Tezuka (Astro Boy among way too many to name) the grandfather of anime based the large exspressive eyes off of disny movies like Bambi

  • If memory serves Snow White was the most influintial on Tezuka. No doubt though Disney could be called on of the founding fathers, Along with Osamu Tezuka of course, of Anime.

  • I think Tezuka was before those particular Disney films. If anything, Disney garnered a lot of inspiration from him- look up Kimba the Lion.

  • Junichi Kou'uchi directed the first Anime "Namakura Gatana" in 1917, while Mickey Mouse made his debut in 1928, I'm not saying the mouse was not influential on the Anime industry. Just that Anime existed before the Mouse.

Namakura Gatana was 2 minutes long, and shown in domestic theaters. Film historian Natsuki Matsumoto owns the film now. It was a short comedy sketch about a Samurai trying out his new sword, only to be defeated.

  • You learn something new every day.

  • This show is funny. lol

  • Plot? Never!

  • lol, more like : WTF R PLOTS LULZ?!

  • Yah, I don't think Disney has any plans for plot.

If they do, let me know so that I know there is a reason I'm subbing this silly show :D

  • Bah! who needs a plot!
