the Australian Open did some new piece on him just recently, and in one part of the article it mentioned how Ivo (having watched Pursuit of Happiness) he had Deja Vu during the part where the main character and his son end up sleeping in a bathroom stall. Early in his career Ivo's sponsor failed to pay for his hotel room and he ended up sleeping in some public restroom because it was freezing outside. crazy where life takes you. if you wanna talk about the ultimate tennis journeymen, Ivo is it.
That statement just proved that you have absolutely no clue how much and how poor ppl live in US well not that it really conserns me, just reacted to your silly "All americans are rich reffering comment" And no i do not live in US.
I've heard that Karlovic came from such a poor background (not really poor, but from a tennis players perspective) , that he couldn't actually afford a coach, he'd just hit serves all day on a tennis court.
@Anaconda43VR Completely wrong, he came from workers class family from Zagreb that before the Serbian aggression lived much better then usual American workers family, and had whole open approach to any sports including tennis. He played basketball originally but later turned into tennis. He was not poor, only he was kid during war on Croatia when life not so easy even in Zagreb which was far from war.
@TSunce not completely wrong, while he wasnt poor, he was no where near rich, not able to afford to go off to the tennis academies that other junior prospects can. the coach nearby his home would be teaching like 25 other kids at the same time so it was hard for him to get one on one attention, so since he didnt have many others to hit with, he would take four or five balls to the court and just hit serves over and over. this is what i read in tennis magazine
@AGENT00AK that's true, but with karlovic's height he's not exactly the most agile player because of his poor balance (being tall gives you a really shitty center of gravity). he's arguably the best server in tennis but yes, he doesn't have anything more besides that, definitely a 1 trick pony.
@AGENT00AK Roddick has groundstrokes? Oh please... He's just a bad, really bad pusher with a great serve. Just look at the Wimbledom final against federer, made his services but could never break federer, what a fail. Not just against federer he can't play for shit against players with a decent baseline game.
@xDafac compared to the wrest of the world might as well be, anyways it's changing fast since China is the new super power and usa is in massive debt, if your the average america, life will be tough for you in the coming years, "I lol at you so bad" - are you stupid?
@AGENT00AK yea but roddick has the worst volleys in the world and look where hes at now.

if karlovic could perfect his backhand and have a consistent forehand he could easily be in the top ten
