i thought you guys were opposed to GL in general, but i guess that's just Elliott. Any reason in particular? I get that Jose isn't feeling the creative team on GL, which is cool, but GLC is so good, i can't accept that you are not reading it E, I just can't.
If the Blackest Night is done correctly they should hopefully catch you up on all you need to know in the first issue. If not, you should try picking up the Agent Orange story in GL, the last few issues of GLC and maybe the GLC: Sins of the Star Sapphires trade.
Blackest Night will be its own mini series and will go through GL, GLC, and a few other mini series created for Blackest Night. I won't be buying all of it cause it's too damn much.
Alpha Lanterns are Green Lanterns who have been surgically modified. They don't need to recharge their rings because hey have a power battery implanted in their chests. Alpha Lanterns are a hybrid of Green Lanterns and Manhunters.
It would make sense, but then Hal would be too powerful. The thing about comics is the more powerful the hero the less believable the challenge. If Hal was an alpha he wouldn't be in nearly as much danger, and that doesn't sell comics.
jose, can you tell me what was going on at the end of that green lantern corps issue? i dont know everything in the GL universe so if you can explain it to me that would be great. thanks.
@comicculturewarrior - Jose, you mentioned that you aren't a fan of Ivan Reis. I think he is one of the BEST in the business right now, but everyone is entitled to their own opinions.
I was just hoping you could explain to me why you don't like his work.
GLC is so much better than GL in all aspect since the Agent Orange began, the art in GL isn't consistent and the story just isn't interesting... But GLC is another thing... at first I didn't like this series at all (maybe some of the SCW's issues) but ever since the Saphie Star's arc started this series was just amazing, the art fit so well to this series and the writing is flowing, before the Star Sahpie arc I couldn't read an issue of this from start to finish it was so fatigued and boring.
The corrent arc is so good! Tomasi is telling 3 diffrent stories in one issues and the all connecting to each other and been told in the best way that can. I excepted to see a fight between the Dexan's and the woman Lantern a while... but most likely it will happen next issue. The ending made my so excited to reading the next issue
Since l'm pretty much done w/ the floppies, l'll probably pick up a few Corps trades. l liked Gleason when he was on Aquaman. l can only imagine that he has improved by leaps&bounds since then.
solid review, J. glc is by far one of my favorites month in month out. tomassi can never do wrong and gleason's art seems to only improve issue by issue. mad props for showing some glc love.
If you mean he's the hardest working guy on the roster, you're right. If you mean only girls and 10 year old boys like him, then your analogy falls flat.

Being a GL Universe newbie, do you think BK will be a good stepping on point or would it be too confusing?
I'm also wondering which comics it will be spread across.
kthx

Josh why don't you like Ivan's art? he is one of my favorite artist and his art on SCW's was amazing! and in my opinion in every issue he did...

Ivan Reis will always just be a clone of Alan Davis to me.

Being a huge Geoff Johns mark, it pains me to admit that I tend to enjoy GLC more than Green Lantern month to month as of late.

Jeff Johns is like the John Cena of the DCU. :)
