  • That isn't even close to Gironda's body drag curl. I'm not discrediting the exercise this man performs by any means, but to call it Vince Gironda Body Drag Curl is absurd. The drag curl takes a just wider than shoulder width grip, and then the bb is 'dragged' along the body forcing the lifters elbows back. This guy's elbows do go back, but only because he is shrugging the weights-just watch the traps move. And furthermore, the drag curl has the lifter curl the weight to the neck not middle abs.

TO WORK THE BICEP CORRECTLY take a thumb under grip with pinkys just outside shoulders on a straight bar, start at the bottom and drag the bar up your body till the nipples

  • This is not a body drag curl, Body-Drag means to drag the barbell up the body to the neck and then flex for a count of two before lowering the bar by draging it down the body.

    That's how Vince taught it to me personally back in the day.

    You are right. The idea is to keep the bare as close to the torso as possible, and to curl the bar as high as you can get it. Since the elbows will be pointed back behind you, it will be impossible to get the bar to the neck, but you certainly want to curl it higher than your navel like this schmuck is doing.

  • Ive been doing drag curls for the past month and let me tell you they have shocked my bis into some new development. I think these are used by the pros alot more than they show. You never see The pros preform these in any of the Mags. Yet Im sure they all do them. One of those secrets they cant have everyone doing.
