  • Great video. I passed through Mobile on 2007.

  • i always enjoyed that part of mobile

  • OK. It's just when I look up I-65, they have every city accept Mobile.

  • I like how you had colors changing as you were traveling on Jubilee Pkwy. Will you ever do a video on I -65 in Mobile.

  • @Billio0986 Thank you! I don't think I-65 is all that interesting, I'd be more likely to do one of I-165 the next time I'm in Mobile, of which I have now idea when that will be.

  • I love this video. I hope you make one of downtown Mobile; I haven't seen it in years. I lived on Dauphin St. before I got married & I loved it. As for Detroit, I was born north of Port Huron so am very fAmiliar with Detroit. The last time I saw it, itooked like a war zone. I'd hate to see Mobile any way like that. Thanks for posting. Hope to see the downtown area one of these days. BTW have you tried Dallas? We don't go there if we don't hAve to. & I bet I get a lot of nasty comments about th

  • make an I-10 trip video from Jacksonville to Los Angeles

  • Great video

  • @MrToddro1971 Thank you!

  • Mobile ought to be ashamed of itself because on some issues it's worse than Detroit, and no, that is NOT something to brag about. The dysfunctional behavior and crimes in the mobile area seem to be more random and bizarre. At least in the Detroit area you can find a some what ok municipality to live in while in the mobile area town after town after town is full of dysfunctional garbage with strange behavior and low iq's. Anyone who knows both metro Detroit & metro Mobile knows this IS true.

  • @steelflame1 Your post is exemplary of "...dysfunctional garbage with strange behavior and low iq.."

  • @NitekMuscle Spoken like a true piece of trash in denial.

  • today i went to go see the battleship al,and used this road.

  • Another great vid. I enjoyed the part where you could clearly see the Mobile skyline, the George Wallace Tunnel, and the Jubilee Parkway.

BTW, have you thought about filming a street tour of downtown Mobile, and/or I-65 towards the I-65/10 interchange, if you ever return to this city again? I have to say, I recently checked its downtown area out on Google Street View, and I was very surprised how attractive it was.

  • @prfsnlwannabe Yes I'd like to film more in Mobile, getting the time to do it is the biggest obstacle.

  • @prfsnlwannabe Nice video but terrible music, sleazy.

  • @RonaldM992000 The music fit the ride, sorry you didn't like it. I choose songs for tempo and energy not lyrics.

  • Hey Jim! How do you stay in business with these gas prices?

  • @garydunncolumbus It does cramp my style, especially when I go up north where gas is more expensive to begin with.

  • I hate when the people slow down in the tunnel, it's even worse westbound because of the quick turn on exit, but still no need for folks to slow as much as they do.

  • Hey FWJ, cool video! The footage is so sharp I thought I was looking at a video game until a few seconds in. What in the world type of camera do you use and where is it mounted?

  • @BRANDY82375 Thanks, I use a Sony HDR-HC9 camcorder mounted on a tripod secured in the front passenger seat area.

  • Also could you please produce a video about the Atlanta loops those have 16 lanes? I want to see them as you are in the sorrounding states. Appreciated.

  • @abdullahhakan1 I have videos of all Atlanta freeways, please check my other uploads.

  • I love my city (:

  • I wish we could really drive that fast on the Interstate

  • Nice. You should have had the music cut out through the tunnel

  • @whatever3210 Thanks! I disagree, I think I timed that break in the song through the tunnel just right.

  • Im from canada, and i LOVE driving the interstates...im so glad you made these videos...im always looking for good rides to do down south!!!!! now i can have a reference...thanks JIMBO!!

  • @BOWJINKA You are welcome, thanks for watching!

  • I noticed you begin to see the Mobile skyline om I10 east the same way as the Boston skyline on I93 south. First you see the tallest skyscraper then the road curv es left and you can see the whole city

  • Awesome Song,,2 Thumbs Up !!!

  • @dokkcrue71 Thank you!

  • Great video as always!! Love the music, you've got great style!!

  • @cochrab Thank you!

  • @loppy0001 Thanks

  • Hopefully you'll get some more road videos soon! Maybe Chicago? Michigan? Or maybe my home state of Massachusetts again? (There's more towns you need to check out. Especially Worcester and Framingham!)

  • Cool video. How come you use Multiple colors during bridges and tunnels?

I like it a little more normal just to see the scenory better.

Anyway, great job on the video

  • @interstateruler Thank you. I like to spice things up here and there, but leaving out the effects would have been ok too. It just seemed like the thing to do at the time :)

  • @Freewayjim Ok that's cool

  • Nice Jim

  • @motorcityrobbie Thanks!

  • Great video. The western half of I-10 is a nice, modern urban freeway. The downtown section is definitely neat, with a great view of downtown, and the tunnels really cap off what is an overall very interesting stretch of the transcontinental I-10.

  • Hey freeewayjim, I bet you'd love driving even more if you got a Lincoln Town Car. It's the ultimate highway car!

  • @ElectroGhandi No thank you, I like my Acura's just fine.

  • Excellent video, as is all of your productions. I grew up in the Baldwin County, Alabama area, but now live in Ohio, so thanks for the memory lane trip. Have you ever caught anything out of the ordinary on camera? Strange vehicles, accidents, etc?

  • @stot1234 Thanks. The oddest thing I ever caught is a guy doing tricks on his motorcycle on the Capital Beltway, I have a short video of it somewhere on here.

  • @stot1234: Haha, I was about to say, I remember watching one of Jim's videos, and seeing a motorcyclist pop a wheelie at freeway speeds.

  • Great ride and production. Enjoyed the view of Mobile Bay. How was the traffic on the bridge? Last time I ventured this way, everybody was passing me as if I was standing still (lol) I am definitely not a slow driver by any means.

  • @Derham43 Thanks, traffic was moving along but each time I've crossed it I've encountered numerous left lane hogs.

  • Nice stuff! Is it correct the city of Mobile is pronounced differently than how you would normally pronounce the word "mobile"?

  • @aswchris Thanks, for whatever reason it's pronounced "Mo-Beel"

  • Stunning piece of work!! and again , GREAT!! editing through the colors effects. It just blows my mind. :D - Five stars the way!! 5*****

¡¡ Impresionante trabajo !! y otra vez ¡ GRAN !edición a través de los efectos del los colores .¡¡ Simplemente alucino !! - ¡¡ Camino de Cinco estrellas !!

  • @CAMINOANDALUZ Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!

  • Nice video. I've never been on that part of I-10 in the Mobile area. Usually when coming back from Biloxi, we go up I-65 back home. Good update video. Do you have a video of I-165, from I-65 in Pritchard to Mobile?

  • @Bryant5493 Thanks Bryant, We did shoot I-165 North leaving town but the footage was horrible. The camera was not setup right and the light was not in our favor so it's just not worth using.

  • @Freewayjim

You're welcome, Jim. Oh, okay. That sucks. :-(

  • Love the video, beet waiting for this hometown video. Never heard the "Bayway" referred to as the Jubilee Parkway though in almost 23 years of existence though.

  • @spookyapp Thanks, I never heard that name either but it was in the wikipedia entry for I-10 in Alabama.

  • I just drove this section (westbound) on a trip home from Pensacola, exiting onto I-65 N. US-29 out of 'Cola would have been quicker, but I wanted to see Mobile Bay while I was so far south. Nice footage.

  • There are plans to demolish the whole Water Street/I-10 interchange and replace it with a standard diamond interchange. This should spur redevelopment in Fort Conde Village and along the waterfront.

  • "I've got love comin' out of my ears!" Oy. :-)

  • Re the "black" overhead signs - they're dark green open grid legends, and from what I understand, it was a short-lived ALDOT experiment - late '80s/early '90s, I believe. Birmingham has quite a few, and there is at least one at the I-65/I-85 junction in Montgomery.

Very good video. I've always loved the drive across Mobile bay. And now you've sent me back to my vinyl stacks to pull my Aldo Nova LP out of mothballs. :-)

  • @rwells2265 Thank you, and thanks for the history on the black signs.

  • very good video .. perfect editing

  • @ScrewdUPClickV2 Thank you!

  • @Freewayjim NP .. its funny for someodd reason i dont remember that tunnel lol

  • Very nice video.

  • @FreewayTitan Thanks

  • Shoulder.

    Poor man's passing lane :P

  • very cool!

  • Oh I remember this route from several years ago, traveling from New Orleans to Gulf Shores, AL.

Damn Jim, I thought I was the only one who liked, or even remembered, this song by Aldo Nova! I remember cranking up this cassette tape in my car, back in my late teens!

  • @centuryrox I wore that cassette out back in the day :)

  • Great video tunnel brings back memories of Baytown tunnel and the Washburn tunnels in Texas . Roads really better than the roads in Birmingham.

  • Nice job on this video. I really liked this portion of I-10 when I traveled it a few years back on my way to Jacksonville, FL. The rest of I-10 through the Florida panhandle was painful though. So this is the last of your videos from your summer trip. I remember you had mentioned to me that you would probably be posting videos from this excursion almost until Thanksgiving and that ended up being about right.

  • @VaFreeways Thanks, I have one more video I'll post later this week, it's a "compilation" video.

  • At 2:26, cool effects in the tunnel! How'd you do it?

  • @Pikachu25sci90vt Thanks, I used a combination of filters from within the software I use and added an echo effect for the sound.

  • @willubhave Thank you!

  • sweet tunnel effect, great drive ;.)

  • @0marigolds -Thank you, I used an echo effect on the audio as well.

  • doesn't look bad at all, tnx

  • The tunnel effect was awesome too.

  • @jasonlava Thank you!

  • 3:05 Replace the GW Tunnel? NOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! This is another childhood memory. For us New Orleanians, it's the magic tunnel to Disneyworld. I sure hope there's a Bankhead tunnel video as well.

  • @jasonlava No Bankhead tunnel video is in the works, BUT I did film it westbound so that short clip might find it's way to a compilation video at some point.

  • No!! I wanted to see more videos, this was an excellent one. The song went great!

  • @FreewayAndrew Thanks, I like that song a lot too.

  • @Freewayjim Why is there black colored exit signs near downtown?

  • @FreewayAndrew It's an Alabama thing, there are a few in the Birmingham area as well, not sure what the story is behind that.

  • Thanks for the video, we were there in August and it just brought back memories of our trip, Thanks.

I dont think I liked the colour effect over the bridge but each to their own.

Your right about the road hogs, I found that everywhere.

  • @keeleeng Thanks, I used the colors to spice it up, I though that section was a bit mundane.

  • Mobile, AL is such a nice city...

You should have a tour of the downtown.

  • @Cyrus992 I like it too, unfortunately I did not have the time to do a downtown tour, maybe another time.

  • @Freewayjim Its alrite...

BTW, I am guessing that you are going to do some clips on Florida. Is that true?

  • @Cyrus992 No Florida, other than the Jacksonville videos I did in late June. We headed back to Atlanta after this.

  • @Freewayjim okay... I hope you at least have Macon, GA

  • @Cyrus992 Nope.
