Although prep books and programs are great they are too expensive. What helped me most on the PSAT/SAT/ACT was repetition. I came across this app called SAT Daily on the android. It is immensely helpful. It's new, but I downloaded it and was amazed. It gives you new question, new vocabulary word DAILY& new tip weekly. This kind of constant exposure really helps. I'm sure it will boost your score on SAT/ACT as well. & I scored in the top 2 percent. Search SAT Daily in the android market.
@RedRiverGolf 700is just ok?????? 800 is a perfect score!!!!! I took it 24 years ago and got a 500, and that was pretty darn acceptable. Got into the college I wanted, not ivy league of course and did very well.....

I scored 1190 on my SAT, which was good enough for academic scholarships (combined with my load of extracurriculars and volunteer service etc). I'm left brained. What is HYPSM? (Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Stanford, MIT) I have no idea. Am I close? But if you meant some Ivy League, I could understand, but I still don't think anyone finds a 700 low, or do they? I've been out of this game for 24 years.
@RedRiverGolf 500 is considered average for just one section. 1500 is average for the whole test. If you scored 700 on the math, you did pretty well and definitely well above the norm.
@RedRiverGolf I think so too, 700 is appears very mediocre. But apparently 700 places one in the top 6-9% (math only) respective to everyone who took the SAT's in the world, well that's the case at the moment.

The reason other races don't do as good as asians isn't because this just comes naturally to us and don't get me wrong to some people it does come naturally, but most of the indians that have high grades have it because of hard work

Everything seems to always go back to that blue SAT book. I have it, and I have to say the problems in the book (I think) are a lot easier than the ones on other SAT books. But, I recieved a low score my first exam, because the problems always seem harder on the actual test. I have more to study in the book, but I wasn't too sure if it was the best idea or not.

@Mrlendo1 Wow that's funny. I had a terrible day too on my SAT test date. I Couldn't sleep the night prior, couldn't finish my breakfast and felt sick as well. Believe it or not, I pulled well under a 700. I found out that over 80% of the nation's testers did the same. So, with about 80% as the standard, one can re-define the word "suck" to: average or above average. In most cases, above average if you break a score of 500.

SAT math is ridiculously easy. There are only about 2 or 3 questions on each test which actually require thinking. If you're struggling with it, then quite frankly you should've listened more in your algebra classes.
All of you; stopping by here. Get a hold of a copy of the pre-1990's "real" SAT (A=Aptitude)before it was "re-centered" ie 'dumbed/watered down'...and try your hand at a true test of native intelligence

i like your videos, i managed to get a 630 in math junior year, and a 710 senior year, no classes yet, and i just found these videos, if i feel that these adequately help, which they seem to be, i may take it again. On my last SAT i got 3 wrong in geometry, i was ridiculous. All other sub fields within my math were immaculate.
my score right now is a 2100 but when i take it it will be higher, almost 2200. is the 2100 good enough to get into ucla or berkely or do i need a 2200. gpa is about average: 4.0
thats what is known as grade inflation... probly everyone in ur sister's school have straight A's due to the easy curricular system, yet when competing in a national basis ur sister got owned. The SAT is the solution to this kind of grade inflation, even though it is not a very intelligent test.

My idea is that I can get 700 for all averages students very easily. To achieve above 700 is very hard tricky and requires lot more intellegence. You need to be perfect and in my opinion I had many students at least 10 I thought would get a perfect score but only one got the perfect score because the others made a stupid mistake eventhough theuy were very intellegent.
I was talking about getting 700 out 800 in math section alone, New SAT is total max score 2400, 800 math, 800 verbal, 800 CR. Harvard wants almost perfect score with a very good GPA almost 4.0 and a specialty in any field sports, musci, leadership, etc
He just buys the sat book from collegeboard ( the SAT company) and then talks about pages and reads the directions at the back on how to prep. What a waste of his time.
On the other hand, it is good advice - and, sadly enough, it's necessary advice, because so many people don't seem to realize that it might actually be a good idea to go out and buy the ****ing thing.
If you're a strong math student (like me - 800 on the first go with no direct preparation) then it's completely pointless, but then again, you're also probably not watching youtube videos on it (note - already into college, watching video because...well, I honestly don't know, actually).

Is 760 good for SAT Math? (I'm a seventh grader about to take the Duke Tips SAT) My other scores aren't that good, like 550 in Reading, and I'm thinking I'll get around 650 on the essay, but will Duke consider me good for a seventh grader?

Ugh... I keep at a constant 610 in math :( I'm answering all the questions in the entire test now and I'm getting about 10 wrong out of the entire thing. Which brings me down considerably :( I guess I just gotta be as fast, just keep my mind sharp and not make stupid mistakes. My Reading is 650 and increasing and my writing's at 700. What i'd give for a 2100 :p

A 2400 is the max score, with 800 being the max score in each section, math, reading, and writing.
You have about 3 hours 45 minutes, or something like that, to take the test, with breaks in the middle.
What do you mean by subjects?
If you mean the different things being tested on, it's reading, math, and writing like that I stated before.
Or do you mean SAT II Subject Tests?
Those have a variety of topics to choose from.

Scoring 700+ on math section is not necessarily an intelligence issue. It's about practices and learning what is needed.

He just buys the sat book from collegeboard ( the SAT company) and then talks about pages and reads the directions at the back on how to prep. What a waste of his time.

On the other hand, it is good advice - and, sadly enough, it's necessary advice, because so many people don't seem to realize that it might actually be a good idea to go out and buy the ****ing thing.
If you're a strong math student (like me - 800 on the first go with no direct preparation) then it's completely pointless, but then again, you're also probably not watching youtube videos on it (note - already into college, watching video because...well, I honestly don't know, actually).

the SAT is just an exam to measure your reasoning skills.
most(i think all) colleges expect you to take the sat.
if you get a score below 1500....ur probably not goin to college. if you are a junior.....you should have taken it already

Its decent on the 1600 scale but you'd have to be a complete retard to get an 1100 on the 2400 scale

Is 760 good for SAT Math? (I'm a seventh grader about to take the Duke Tips SAT) My other scores aren't that good, like 550 in Reading, and I'm thinking I'll get around 650 on the essay, but will Duke consider me good for a seventh grader?

the book he recommends is useless!!!! it never helped me. use kaplan. and try to take the classes too. my sat alone got me into college because my gpa sucks

Ugh... I keep at a constant 610 in math :( I'm answering all the questions in the entire test now and I'm getting about 10 wrong out of the entire thing. Which brings me down considerably :( I guess I just gotta be as fast, just keep my mind sharp and not make stupid mistakes. My Reading is 650 and increasing and my writing's at 700. What i'd give for a 2100 :p
