I'm a Brewers fan, and unfortunately I saw J.J.'s trade coming. He was a fan favorite and I know Brewers fans will MOST DEFINITELY miss him. He had a bad year, every baseball player could go through that...I wish him well, And PLEASE enjoy him Twins fans, because he definitely put a void to fill in the Brewers line-up. I'm really not that excited about Escobar; but we will see...I don't like the comment, "Thank god Gomez is gone!!" Is he that bad? That makes me nervous!! I don't know him....
Gomez isn't that bad, im a brewer's fan as well. BUT i do live in minnesota, so i have seen him play before..i like having him in center instead if a 35 year old mike cameron...i do like cameron. but he's getting to old.
Terriable move and i'll tell you why. 1) Gomez is one of the fastest players in the league. He is great when we need a steal and he can bunt and get to first base effortlessly. 2) Yeah he might not be good at batting but he can work on it and be a destructive player for other teams. HE'S VERY YOUNG BY THE WAY! 3) He was probably one of the great outfields in the league today; he barely ever makes a mistake.
Another thing is that Orlando Cabera kept us in it to go to the playoffs in game 163 .
I have to disagree Drew. 1) Being the fastest player in the league doesn't mean anything unless you can use it on the base paths. Gomez stole just 14 bases last year and had a .287 OBP. I agree that's he's very young and still has potential, and I also agree that he play great defense, but I think you'll be surprised with Denard Span's play in CF.
Finally, OC had a great game 163, but the season is 162 games long. I promise you @ the end of next season you'd rather have Hardy than OC.
Thanks for the comment WiscoTalker. I agree, we're both getting rid of players who have probably caused us to pull a few hairs before. Especially this past season. They both fill holes for each team though and both have tons of potential. We'll see if the new environments help the guys out. I'm excited to have Hardy!
dont get too excited..... he hit .226 last season for us.... HES A REAL NICE GUY but dont think u ripped us off this is completely even.... we have emerging alcides escobar who obviously deserves the job and this was probably the best we could get... the other option was a bullpen arm and we'd much rather have this.HARDY IS GOOD DONT GET ME WRONG... I WISH HIM GOOD LUCK I LOVED THE GUY... HE WAS A FAN FAVORITE IN MILWAUKEE... GREAT VIDEO MAN!

I think the trade was good for both. The brewers could not sign Mike Cameron again and I think Escobar is ready for the bigs. Go BrewCrew
