That theme from "Merv Griffin's Crosswords" is similar to the one from the 1976 game show "Double Dare." The theme from "Merv Griffin's Crosswords" is previously used on "Wheel of Fortune" as a prize cue. The theme from "Double Dare" would later be used on "Card Sharks."
