Harstad 2nd largest city in Troms county, 3rd largest in north Norway. Even Sortland, almost six times smaller by population is a city. 23000 people living in Harstad: bigger than anything around; city architecture, university, military. Although there is no agreement on how a city is distinguished from a town within general English language meanings, many cities have a particular administrative, legal, or historical status based on local law
The defintion of what makes a CITY is that the place has a UNIVERSITY and a CATHEDRAL. What makes a METROPOLITAN AREA is that it is connected by subway or monorail.
A city doesn't need a university to be one, and there doesn't have to be subway, monorail or commuter trains (or trains at all) that it is a city. Norwegian cities are, compared to cities in many other countries, smaller, and would there be a town. I don't know how this could be so hard to understand?? Norwegian cities and towns are small, Norways population isn't 5 million people just yet. Andenes is a town, Sortland is one, as well Leknes, but Harstad is a city
I compared it to the towns around to show that Harstad is the biggest place around.
And about english or norwegian: most viewers in this video are Norwegians, but there are still many from the US, Hong Kong, the Netherlands and Germany (where I come from). So in videos which I made outside Germany, I normally write enlish, also if I would be able to write Norwegian or French.
@roskildahphreak ... which is in Norway: The status of "city" is granted by the local authorities if a request for city status has been made and the area has a population of at least 5000; Harstad has a population of more than 23000, so it's 'far' over the minimum.
"Harstad is the 3rd largest CITY in Northern Norway?"
WTF IS THAT BULLSHIT?
Harstad går under begrepet "town"

Whatever you say slick!
