When Frank Black is in touch with his muse, he's one of the most dynamic songwriters I know; I miss seeing him move farther away from Black Francis and delve deeper into Frank Black. The FB moniker seemed to allow him more flexibility with regard to his musicianship. He had a great run though, but what could be more lucrative than the Pixies. I don't fault him for the revival, but I can't fault myself for missing the complexity of Frank Black.
