  • @StreetPunkLivesOn get a mac so you can run logic...there IS no alternative, closest being Pro Tools but you don't get all the badass usability features...

  • @cadrums ye im hopefully picking up a mac next year when i have some spare cash :)

  • @StreetPunkLivesOn Apple has some Refurbished products on there site in which you can find some good deals if you are interested.. They are basically the news model (on some) that are currently out but has the Refurbished title that comes along with it.. You can save a couple hundred dollars...

  • Hello there,

Thanks a million for your uploads. I want to study them all. Is there an order. I am a real beginner now so I started from the first one. Should I follow an order? I want to start by learning things on how to record and mix my vocal and then guitar and in the future other stuff but from the basics, can I find an order anywhere on ur site? Once more THANK YOU!!!!

  • iamm< for some reason the zoom shortcut isnt working..? any idea why?

    thanks

  • @headkase00 yeah the zoom doesn't work for me either

  • hey srry im pretty late i just got logic pro and can u show a way to make the vocals much more clear?

  • Excellent tutorial man. Even for things as basic and simple as this, the presentation is a 10/10.

  • great tutorials dude, do u have any on midi recording? im just starting to use logic. just got my mac book pro. was using windows and nuendo. I did one album with nuendo and a couple singles. but i was getting tired of dealing with windows bugs and crashes. so im apple now :) but i need a lot of help on getting up to par. i have work to do and need to learn logic asap. thanks.

  • When it comes to moving the playhead with the triangle brackets, is there a way you can change the value of the movement when using the brackets? I'm editing audio to video a lot and it would be much easier if I had more control over the value of movement to the playhead when I use the triangle brackets

  • I was wondering if there is a way to sync the pin head from the main window with the pin head of the sample editor window, so when i drag it in the sample editor window i can see it moving in the main window.

  • I would like to know if it's possible to slow down and play what's in your logic project. I thought changing the metronome would also change the tempo of the song, but I seemed to be wrong.. Please, let me know if anyone has the answer.

  • where do i find the instrument loops

  • cubase and logic. which is better?

  • Love your response to which is better pro tools or logic

if you use midi go with Pro tools but if you do live go with....... Pro tools!!!

erm which is best then?? was that a type error!

Love your tutorials dude. Have subscribed. really nicely presented.

  • @joeyandmartin He probably meant Logic the at the first ProTools. Logic has much more MIDI instruments and sounds, and are so much easier to fix and get what you want. I have used both, and in my opinion Logic kicks ProTools ass. Extremely hard.

  • Brilliant presentation. Learned a great deal indeed from parts 1 & 2.

    Well done.

  • nice! thank u

  • awesome tutorial!!

  • awesome tutorial for lil small things. i suscribed. but do you think you can do you a tutorial for recording vocals and making them sound clean on here?

or does anyone know any good links for vocal mixing/mastering?

  • Thank you! Well done

  • Very informative video!!! Thank you for sharing your knowledge...

  • Thank you for the great tutorial on shortcuts! I love that the entire video was done on shortcuts. :-)

  • actually, my hard drive crashed. so i got a new one, and i re-installed logic 9, and my zoom shortcut doesnt work. is there any way to set a shortcut?

  • Anyone know which is better Protools or Logic?

  • It depends.. I use both.... Many people love ProTools, but it all depends on what you are going to do... If you deal a lot with MIDI then I say go with ProTools, but if you do a lot of live recording then go with ProTools... Also the things you have to consider about ProTools is that you need a digidesign interface for it to run or an m-audio interface for the m-audio versions of ProTools....

  • @imamusicmogul sorry? i think you might have made a mistake in the reply bro?

  • @imamusicmogul so.. protools or protools?

  • @imamusicmogul MIDI is better on Logic imho

  • @mimoocho in my university we use protools for recording in, then we export and import to logic and use logic for sequencing. one is not better than the other, though Logic is the new industry standard.

  • for recording, such as mics or guitars can i use an mbox mini 2? or do i need another m-audio interface

  • you can use you mbox mini2!!!!

  • @imamusicmogul What mic do you use its sounds pretty good?

  • Outstanding. Thanks so much man.

  • Command+arrow keys isn't zooming for meany ideas?

    Subscribed, btw. Keep 'em comin!

  • @LukeDSimpson he made a little mistake, it's CTRL+arrow keys, but very useful video !

  • @yerlybiatch Sorry, that's what I meant to typectrl+arrow keys isn't working!

  • @yerlybiatch Figured it out - it's Ctrl+Cmnd+Arrow Keys

  • Hey! I tried that, and it didn't work...? Hmmm....

  • Crap! I meant:

    Ctrl+Option+arrow keys

    Also:

hold Option & two-finger drag (sideways or up/down)

    BEEYOOM

  • Sorry, I meant I'm gonna get Logic Express 9, not Logic pro, I still would like an answer though! thanx :D

  • This tutorials are great man! I'm about to order an iMac with this software installed but..., I want it for recording live drums, does it include plug ins, effects, presets for drums? Like Audition has presets for EQing snare drums, bass drums cymbals and so on. I hope u can answer this, thank you in advance

  • hey darthvera... It does come with plug-ins featuring all the must haves and then some... Eq, compressor, gate, limiter, reverb etc.. Logic 9 is a perfect time to come into Logic.... All plug-ins that come with Logic has presets that you can use in your mixes and recordings!!!!

  • @imamusicmogul Thank you so much for your answer, that was fast :D

  • you welcome!!!!! Let me know how everything goes with you Logic set-up!!!

  • im not quite sure about express (i have pro) but ya, the the plugins all come with presets for instruments, vocals, and drums.

  • @epicpolyphony Thanks! I did a little research and u r right, there are nice tools for working with drums. I'm getting my iMac tomorrow, can't wait to start recording :D

  • how can i sync logic and mpc?

    peace

  • Great

    thanks :)

  • your welcome bo6lal!!!

  • Didn't really learn much in this video, but you still did a great job. I have a question (and so many more, I converted from FL Studio to Logic 9, so yeehaw) They're too long so I'll just post them in your profile thingy. Thanks!

  • That'a ok!!! You might learn some stuff from the other videos... I will try to answer your questions over on my page when I get a chance...

  • question !!! lets say i add delay to one of my tracks but then i change my mind and i wanna take it off !! how i cant find the way to take off effects ((

  • if you did it through automation just hit "A" on your keyboard. This brings up your automation for every track, select the delay automation. Select all the you automation information and click delete. Check out the Tutorial #7 delay video, it show s how to do it @ 2:16. If you did it on the same track just take off the delay from your insert section. If you did it through an aux send then just delete you send. Let me know if that helped at all!

  • I don't think it initialises massive...i got massive 1.1.4.

  • Hi there, thanks for your great videos!

I have a question about installing massive on logic pro 9.

I've installed it and see the file on the audio/plugins/component as massive.component but for some reason I'm not seeing it on the inserts... could you tell me why? cheers!

  • your very welcome.... So you installed massive. When you launched Logic did the AU manager pop up showing you it is initializing Massive? If yes, then are you sure you are in a software instrument track and looking under the AU instruments section??

  • really cool. thanks!

except. to zoom in, out, left and right, on my mac, its ctrl and arrow, not apple and arrow.

  • Your right, I am so used to my controls, in all other versions of logic I used apple arrows, but for some reason in Logic 9 the default keys was not that, so I changed it.... I think I will add this in my video incase people get confused... Thanks for pointing it out!!!

  • great stuff man! I have pro 8 is there a large difference with 9, I understand you can quantize audio and supposedly cpu does not hang up as much. What is your take?

  • Thanks basskeys129. To be honest there is not a big difference with 9.... Basically; your right, the audio quantize is is one of the new features and another thing that is cool is the guitar amps and the pedalboard effects you can use, other than that there is not a big change. As far as the CPU goes, I don't notice any difference, I sometimes run sessions with 60+ tracks and to me it runs the same. If your thinking of making the switch, its really not at all different.. just those two things!

  • If you have any other questions about 9, just ask!!!

  • great work

  • thank you!!

  • subscribed... so far "the best channel" for logic tutos.thx

  • your welcome!!! and thank you!!!

  • very good thanks

  • thanks!!!!
