  • Anyone else find it creepy that Floyd's shades move like eyes? At times it looks like instead of sunglasses, those are empty eyesockets o.o

  • @Smilez2211 I'm pretty sure those are his eyes.

  • @AlwaysSingTheTruth That just makes it even *more* creepy.

  • larga vida a los muppets

  • My kinda guys, play on my brothas.

  • you can take all your motion capture, CGI, 3D and computer graphics, and shove them firmly up your jacksie - nothing will ever beats the muppets

  • who played bass in the studio? interesting tone

  • Sgt Flord rocks, heh heh.

  • @Gonzoidzz It's actually be Sargent Pepper.. Floyd is his first name.. ;)

    Coincidence? Heck no.

  • Mea culpa; how could i not add the muppets to the new york tribute today ?

  • Bizarrely it's not only S2 E9 but also in S3 E1. Brilliant.

  • I want a hear Floyd sing A Song for You.

  • "Hey, the frog is not around! Time to play a serious sound..."

  • Really long gray eyebrows and a beard that would put Dr.Robotnik to shame..............Floyd Pepper............I love you..........

  • this is easily my favorite version of this song. EASILY.

  • Does it make anyone else slightly sad to think that all (but one) of the puppeteers were American and filming in London.

And that this song might have been because they were a little home sick?

  • Zoot looks like Steven Wright

  • anyone know if theres a MP3 for this? I honestly whant a copy of this!

  • @Keimori12 It hasn't been released on any Muppet album to my knowledge. Try using a you-tube to mp3 converter, google 'you-tube to mp3 converter' there are loads of sites out there.

  • @xonix2002 Hi, this song was on The Muppet Show 2 album :o)

  • Anyone know where to get a chord chart for this song? Beautiful...

  • @YukonRoxx any Billy Joel books or sites with tabs/sheet music should have it. One of his biggest early songs.

  • wow!! I saw this show when I was a kid, maybe 30 years ago..and I really love this song...Really make me happy to find it here!!

    thanks for uploading..God bless you...

  • floyd is the obvious fav.

but i find that im starting to like zoot more and more

  • am i the only one sensing... it could've been sung by willie Nelson.. sounds just like him

  • Thanks for sharing Keijz74. Giggling to myself about what you said - Funny how we Perceive ourselves - I am getting well worried now - Maybe becoming more like Miss Piggy than I care to admit LOL

  • Billy Joel isn't fit to lump Floyd's gear!

  • i luv his wacky, feathered sunglasses :P

  • @bgrasso5 those are his eyebrows, not sunglasses.

  • I think i actually like this better than the original.

  • Nice song, nice muppet performance!!!

  • Who's his puppeteer?

  • it was Jerry Nelson.

  • Thanks. I really like Jerry's voice.

  • @aarnis it sounds like willie nelson

  • This is crazy!! If this is jazz, I can't understand why some people don't like it.

  • i'd say more R&B but yeah...they're both good you should check em out

  • mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

  • Great song!

Who's drumming this? It can't be Animal, it's too quiet for that. :P

  • Brilliant band. Best cover version by the best cover band!!

  • i love these guys :))

  • Don't we all 8D

  • Not only does he have a gnarly voice, but Floyd Pepper is one of the sickest bass players ever!!!

  • I agree with mamkalosze. Billy Joel's song is great but Pepper's voice is wonderfullllllll! Gives me chills. Wish it was longer.

  • call me an ignorant or whatever you want but for me, this is the best version of the song

  • Rip it from the vid? 's what I did, it's either that or from the DVD collection. Or possibly record it off the webradio station that only runs muppet tunes(forgot the name). No other way to get it.

  • what a fantastic concept and they pulled it off!

  • He deserves it.

  • what happened to good television?

  • It ended about here

  • Man, you guys could not have said it any better...classic

  • Beautiful, both music and picture. You just BELIEVE what Floyd sings and i LOVE his voice. :o)#

  • And believing is more amazing when you consider that he's actually felt and whatever. it's a tribute to the artists and puppeteers that they can give these characters such personality that they are believable

  • Talking about talent. :o)# And he doesn't sing a blues, he's LIVING THAT BLUES. Hug to Floyd "HUG"

  • :) I love electric mayhem!

  • Truly an amazing display of puppetry. Not just in the piano-playing of Dr. Teeth or the lip synching and eye-emoting of Floyd... watch Zoot carefully. Not only does he move his shoulders in a very realistic way for a sax player, but he also takes a "breath" before putting the sax in his mouth.

  • Great observation. I like this so much, wish could get to see a live band ( trio ) play this.

  • You're absolutely right. This was fantastic, and very moving. The way Zoot moves is unbelievable.

  • and a beautiful rendition, no less.

    :D~

  • Btw, I hear that his muppeteer was an amature sax player. So he's modeling how Zoot plays off himself. Obviously, they get someone else to play his sax though.

  • Doesn't Floyd sound like Willie Nelson when he sings?

  • Sounds exactly like Willie!

  • Friend of mine just sent me this and I was about to reply to here that it sounds lie Willie Nelson, yeah!

    ~Trav

  • A bit yes. Nice.

  • Best saxplayer ever, this Zoot-man.

    Brilliant band.

  • Best cover version by the best cover band!!

  • Floyd always had a killer tone !!

  • floyd sounds like a decountrified willie nelson (I made that word up but you can figure what it means)

  • You're right, he souds a bit like a mixture of Willie Nelson and Elton John.

  • I'd say Floyd sounds like Dr. John.

  • Well, Dr. Eltonjohn Don'tshoot (Aka. Doctor Teeth) is visually modeled off Dr John, so why not Floyd sounding like him?

  • damn good song....

good for them suny afternoons on the balconey

  • New twist on a great song

  • Zoot and I have the same hairline.

    Great song, great show overall!

  • zoot rules

  • Electric Mayhem rule! Go Floyd!

  • whats funny is i also perfer his version of "50 ways to leave your lover"

  • Better than Billy Joel. I remember the muppets album as well...

  • amo a esta banda es la mejor

  • beautiful song sung by beautiful furry people

  • I've been searching for this for ages. Since 9/11 I suppose, when it was the only New Yorky song I really wanted to listen to. It was on the 2nd Muppet Show album that I had when I was a kid. Nice one Floyd!

  • This is why Floyd is my favorite Muppet ever.

  • I'm torn between Zoot, and Animal.

  • Nice song!

  • Brilliant. I remember this so well. Thanks for the uppie.
