A Great baby boomer cartoon Well Worth getting up at 5;00 on saturday morning to watch these relics. We have a big bunch of crows that gather at my apt. house both mornings/evenings looking for some free handouts, and i referer to them all as heckle&jeckle..
Heckle (or Jeckle) is using a power puff on his face in front of a dressing room mirror. Suddenly, his "mirror image" (either of them) emerges from the mirror frame, as they say in unison, "And now, it's time for US to go on!!".
Thanks for putting this on. This is nostalgia at its best for me, hard to explain, for a few seconds, all your sences return to the days you last viewed and heard that music. Like most of us who watched these cartoons,we thought we would never see them again. The orginal openings and closings are so important for the full nostalgic effect.
Even though CBS initially telecast the series from 1956 through '60 (mostly on Sundays), it wasn't seen in color on the network until the fall of 1965; this was the opening title [and first transition] as seen in color. It went off CBS after the summer of '66, and into local syndication- revived, as noted below, on NBC for two years, and back into syndication after that.
I remember this cartoon in the late '70s, when Los Angeles television station KCOP Ch. 13 showed Heckle & Jeckle at 2:30PM. It was great stuff! =D

Third transition:
Heckle (or Jeckle) is using a power puff on his face in front of a dressing room mirror. Suddenly, his "mirror image" (either of them) emerges from the mirror frame, as they say in unison, "And now, it's time for US to go on!!".

Here's an uneasy theory: I sometimes think
all our elected politicians, Democrat, Repub-
lican and Independent ARE ALL FIGUREHEADS. The
ones who are really running this country are
HECKLE AND JECKLE!
