  • Wonderful to find these...one of my Favorite Bands

Hopefully i can find their best Song Somewhere "Raid" :+)

Also remember the Lyceum Friday night concerts

  • was für eine Stimme, diese Felsen große Zeit der Mensch.

  • I must have bought this lp 3 times cause I played each one out. And its true Winnipeg loved this band more then any where else. LOL everyone loves them. The parties on Grosevner Audience blaring.

  • Howard has just started work on a new solo CD and is on our new CD. His voice is as good as it ever was as is his songwriting. Trev from Audience is writing some stunning new tracks also and playing bass with us.

  • lots of memories driving through adelaide into the yorkes pen , dodging kangaroos etc.going for a surf , to this sound track in the 70s .only good thoughts .wish kids these days could be exposed to music with more time to spread out

  • great studio album ..

  • these guys were cutting edge ..............but along the line ......raviolee such a fantastic song

  • Was hanging round St Albans with my skinhead mates 1969/70 and decided to go to the Pioneer Club, I think to see Johnny Pope & Tiny Clanger, and this lot were top of the bill. Still loved Reggae but Audience were so good the Skinheads and the Hairies were swaying together, incredible, just an incredible set. The night was smoky and sweaty, we were mesmerised and the whole thing was rounded off with Hells Angels riding into the Hall, all in all, a great great electric night so thanks for this.

  • Why don't somebody start a radio station that play all these great bands like this

instead of the same old music over and over again

  • AUDIENCE after the Beatles best British Band for ever

  • wtf is that shit

  • One person rated thumps down..they must like lady gaga and Justin bieber

  • It seems the only place in Canada where this got any airplay was Winnipeg.

No one I know from other cities ever heard of Audience, yet in The Peg' in the mid 70's, this was a huge favourite.

Takes me back. Hmmmm. What box is my old bong in?

  • @Twexyl I was one of those playing it on 101, glad you enjoyed it, also got it goin at u of w, was in as a guest and turned them on to it....I also bought tnt as an import and was first on it with Brian at 101....probably the first time in canada

  • still blows this lil' mind, what an underrated band

  • got this album, it's awesome

  • there are 2 audience lp's. after that, howard werth and the moonbeams, not sure if lp released, but copies are around. be good to hear again.

  • Brilliant!

  • does anyone know where i can download this song? specifically the version that's in this video?? i've been looking everywhere but can't seem to find it..i've found another version but prefer this one much more!

  • @natesnj Email me at kentishbloke@gmail.com and I'll send MP3 (since It's christmas lol)

  • @natesnj you can download the youtube converter that converts the videos into mp3s..mine works great..:P getting all kinda classic obscure bands and music..i love it!!

  • @dylanrules100 Already sorted :)

  • Nice song, bassline reminds me of Can's Yoo Doo Right.

  • I remember these guys from the day. Saw them in Canada in 1970. Badass. Howard Werth, the guitarist, gave an unbelievable show. I've got this whole album. Will have to upload it soon.

  • always good sax ...

  • I have both Audience Albums and have turned my 3 kids on to what they say is the most unbeilievable music ever. My middle is a sax player and his band influenced big time by Howerd werth

  • Saw these at the Lyceum, Strand a couple of times, Friday midnight concerts. Early 70's. Blinding. I like your channel. Keep up the good work.

  • @2010Joe54 bit late replying, sorry....I remember the midnight court at the Lyceum. first saw pink floyd there in 69. Good ol' days eh?

  • @2010Joe54 Me too. Also The Marquee several times. Had I known I was being spoilt at the time, lol

  • i was 14 when this came out never very popular kind of cult stoner music but the best ever

  • i was 14 when this came out never very popular kind of cult stoner music but the best ever

  • Summer 1972 or 73 - York Archaeological Trust Hostel on Clifford St - the guys sitting on top of the janitor's booth played this album over and over.. it's the soundtrack of that dig.

  • i always loved the guitar rift, very classic and very terrifffficcc

  • wow..this brings me back..super :-)

  • i used to listen to this album once a month driving with my dad up to calgary. brings back good memories :) wish their music was easier to get a hold of legitimately! hards as hell to find an album to buy :(

  • Classic album that I admittedly never heard before about 8 years ago. One of the ones that got me started on my neverending search for unbelievably good, relatively unheard of music from the late 60's/early 70's. There is so much more than Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple and Black Sabbath from that era...so much more great stuff out there!!!

  • Love it. Takes me right back. I still play the album now. It may well be one of my Desert Island Discs - if I can take the whole album, that is!

  • born in 1989

    this shit is sweet

  • Listen, It's all acoustic

  • @wchwsky Sort of, aside from the electric bass and the signal processing on every instrument and vocal track. I get your drift, though.

I don't believe there was any solid body electric guitar on any tracks that I can recall from either of their two albums. I don't recall any keyboards neither.

  • for a moment i thought i remember ...

When I was young, it was more important

    Pain more painful

    Laughter much louder

    Yeah, when I was young

    When I was young

more stuff like this! thnx for the memory

  • Worth every second that you listen...A true classic that will never be appreciated by the younger generation, a damn shame !

  • @Jayray1375 definitely not true, im a young 20 year old that would love to prove you wrong, I listen to all the good stuff, today's music is saddening.

  • @TheSlasher667 Congrats ! You are one of very few! Enjoy the long list of forgotten classics that your generation refuses to acknowedge or appreciate.

  • @Jayray1375 i totally agree..i had this on vinyl and loved it especially this song...very trippy and played very well i must say!

  • Why don't the so-called "classic rock" stations play anything like this? This is the classic rock I remember.

  • @joyeley were on the same page

  • Brano bellissimo, mitici Audience gruppo grandioso....

  • After hearing this I had to order the CD. My tape of 'House on the Hill' wore out a few years back.

Saw them play live a few times in the early seventies at the all night concerts, at the Lyceum, the Strand, London.

They were always fantastic live. Glad to be reunited with their music.

  • This is one of the most under-rated albums of all time!!! Shocking that BestEver only lists it at 87th best for 1971. Highly imaginative, creative, great use of flute and sax. Unlike most albums I can recollect each and every song long after listening to it!!

  • Well I am 20 and I like Audience and Family and other such eclectic groups so that means I'm cool lulz.

Just kidding but yeah this is cool stuff. :P My dad randomly got this album way back, I'm glad.

  • wat is the band that says "i got a brand new bens house on the hill"

  • yeah man Koool! I had an Audience Album or two... a really great unique band! love many of their songs! let us rejuvenate fully!

  • love this song.very spookey for this type of music

  • omg i loved this in 1972

  • what a rush. i was begining to think i was the only person on earth that ever dug this album! thank you, thank you, thank you very much!

  • @skrasnitski i was beginning to think i was the only one whose ever heard this song and as years went by i thought maybe i didnt hear it at all that it was in a dream or something but since that day it always stuck in my head and thats been along time but here it is....good music never dies

  • could someone upload 'Jackdaw' please? It was up until a few weeks ago, not sure why it was removed.

  • Drummer is trying to hard, somehow this song is brilliant, but something's wrong also, with the Tempo.

  • @woodsworkciew A lot of tempo changes, i think that's why to you it seems off...I'm a drummer and he's doing a lot of ghost stokes

  • Hi,Love this Album,thanks for the memories.

  • who knew? I just searched to see at random

    :)

  • Yay! I have found you again... my favourite band ever!

  • friend's friend's friend anyone? found it after long long time and thought maybe the original recording wasn't so good. stared at the album cover for hours though.

  • @knrpops56 I have been signing this refrain for months and suddenly realized what it was! i loved this album back in Toronto in '71!!!!

  • have this album still..love it...I always thought the vocals had a touch of John Paul Jones...gret though..thanks

  • pure brilliance...

    best album ever...

  • i wasnt born to enjoy this music when it was fresh. my soul longs to live through the late 60 and 70s yet this band allows me to imagine and possibly connect with that time.

jackdaw was the first song that got me into this band and this band is great!

great music will never die regardless of commercial success. (i am the only one that knows this band much like most of my music collection)

    thanks for posting.

  • Nice comment..Appreciated. this is pretty much what I hoped to achieve when I started this channel. Keep the Faith lol

  • we NEED more YOUNG listeners, open-minded spirits with a GOOD ear for music. So sad todays youth has nothing but garbage exposed to their young ears by corporate suits in radio in the 21st century.

  • @kentishbloke And didn't think anybody else knew about!

  • @triplettam Well, i wouldn't make that claim, but certainly YouTube opens a door to music that has been forgotten by some and new to many :)

  • Tony Stratton Smith (RIP) managed Audience in their early days, great band....ageless music...

  • They creep me out. I love them.

  • they were amazing ...

  • God! I loved this band! And this album especially! 'Nancy' always got me funking round the room and the first version of 'I Put A Spell On You' I ever heard was done by them. It so suited Werth's voice.I thought it was theirs.

  • Just siiick! Love this tune, and glad I discovered this, only about 6 years ago

  • i didnt think in a million years id find this thank you alot it kicks ass. B.L. akron ohio

  • Brings back memories...those were the days....amazing song...thanks for posting it

  • my pleasure Larry

  • Thought I'd check to see if there was any Audience. Reliable Tim, you must have posted this around the time all their music was removed. lol. 5*s & faved.

  • My sister was a record journalist in the early 70's and she brought this LP home to review, I played it so much that she had to get another one, I still have it from 1971 and play it alot.

  • Fantastic!! Ihad their first t wo records .

I tink they are playing again. Some news?

  • Excellent Tim. Great song..Great Band.....

    Jane.

  • I remember seeing the name before. A mixture of Jethro Tull,East of Eden,Blodwyn Pig, a very 70's progressive sound.

  • Never heard of these - love the quiver in his voice when he sings on the hhhhiiiiillll - very like Donavan when he sings Hurdy Gurdy man

  • Oh I forgot throw Jethro in there lol

  • This sounds familiar it must be 70`s and if its not then I dont know...whos singin ? its got all the qualities of a masterpiece....guess wot.never heard it before but i feel i have...this one passed me by but its great nice post Tim 5*....Linda Hayden starred in a film `House on the Hill` and Ive yet to see that one but I will find it one day.....It could be Gong with the sax in the middle...but is not...great bass...then its turned into king Crimson....I am going to have to check these guys out

  • Singer was Howard Werth..they were concert regulars in the early 70s...Linda Hayden MMmmmm..I remember her lol..Wilkipedia holds ALL the answers.

  • Thanks for the info and posting this is one awesome track......I deleted Fcuking Techno Pop 192 it wasnt right or should i say left on the speaker balance.......remade it once again adding stereo phase and a little chorus effect.....seems to be right now...these things take time but are worth it in the end like your encouragement for new artists.....nice one TiM, keep on rockin

  • Way back I took a girl to see Audience on her birthday...Freezing cold night it was...Anyway she must have enjoyed it as we are still together!!!...LOL...

  • Tim, my sparing partner loves these guys! Thank you for this post, mate!
