maybe if you hit it right.but after about 180 yards it can get tricky.i recently bought a gamo big cat 1200 and i shot a transformer on an electric pole from about 60 yards and it put a in a hole about one inch across.its a good gun and the look gets respect.on my guns box it said dangerous up to 227 yards.if you honestly hate seagulls i would get the gamo hunter extreme which packs 1600 fps. i hope this helps

Higher velocity (given the same projectile) will always deliver more energy to the target. Why else does a 5.56mm rifle cause more damage than a 9mm pistol? However if your projectile is supersonic and then slows to subsonic speeds before it hits the target, it will be pushed off course slightly by the turbulence. That is the whole reason everyone wants to keep projectiles either slightly below or well above the speed of sound.

Ok, besides a heavier bullet whats the ballistic difference between a .22 LR and a .22-250 DUR-DE-DUR velocity!!! a .22 LR could go through MAYBE 1/24 inch of steel, a .22-250 can go through almost 3/8 inch of steel..... ok, now ur BB gun theory, still not even close to true, a 950 FPS 5 Grain BB will have about 10 ft-lbs of energy at the muzzle, ok now that same BB at 1,250 FPS will have almost 18 ft-lbs of energy, meaing the faster the BB, the deeper and wider the wound!!
the faster the bb the more inaccurate it gets. like i said a light pellet/bb in a 1000 fps rifle will go EVERYWHERE. lets say you have a 20 grain bb/pellet then its different. power doesnt necessarily mean accuracy, but the speed. power can increase but that would be stupid having a little pellet hit something very fast. like is said.......its like shooting a toothpick out of a cannon trying to hit somebody......
no... if U have a pump pellet gun that gets less accurate as U get it faster, then GETA NEW 1!!! accuracy has to do with the projectile an barrel, higher velocity will not effect accuracy, but indirecty will give less drop... which is less the shooter has to compensate for...
oh, and with the same weight of projectile, velocity is how power in increased, more power=more velocity..... a 10 pound cannon ball won't do shit if its not moving ;) just clarifying cuz it sounded like U thought U could increase power without velocity.... which U can, but only by increasing projectile weight

In this case, FPS means FEETS PER SECOND, not FRAMES PER SECOND :-) It's the velocity of the projectile measured at the muzzle of the barrel...
