  • Yeah but how is memory physically stored in something solid? I just don't get how there's information in them little blocks? Is that how it is? My friend said it's like reading a punch card, there's small indentations inside those black blocks and when a shock gets passed at a certain voltage or through a certain circuit, it literally makes a indent into the block and the computer understands the pattern. But I think he's confused with a hard disk drive. I'm confused in general.

  • aHm`we can used anyway defferent kinds of RAM in Our Loptop?? this RAM on This Video?? can also be used in the Loptop?? Anyone can tell plzzzzzzzzz....i need info . .

  • @shoiabrigana We do have videos that tell what kind of RAM you need for laptops and how to install it. Do a search here on YouTube for "Install a RAM memory upgrade into any desktop or laptop computer" and you will find them.

  • old video but good info the laptop im looking at has DDR3 so that'll do!

  • @Stonio There is a new version of this video. Go to our channel and you're find it.

  • @joopee01 having 8gb is overkill and no games or programs use that much ramnowadays 6gb is the max i say

  • i have 6GB lol

  • @ibrahim180626592 nice 6gb is the most u can have anymore is overkill and a waste of memory cause it wont get all used

  • UH i have a question. if a game requires 512 mb ram will it work with 3.5/4?

  • @zolken35 You can never have too much RAM. Yes it will work.

  • @zolken35 the operating system (OS) will always take ram for its self on 32bit youonly get left 3.5gb as 512mb is reserved on xp 64bit you get the full 4gb some motherboards can go up to 16gb but not many games or programs will use it all at all so its a waste and 4gb is perfect for 32bit OS and 64bit OS would benefit with 6gb there are no games i know of that needs 6gb ram YET! also the video doesnt show ddr 3 and CAS on ddr 400 ram is faster in speed then ddr2 but not much memory bandwith :P

  • Good video. Make more!

  • It's funny how people try to correct the video because you didn't mention DDR3, but they failed to look at the date first and notice that it's a few yrs old... (which is a lot in computer years) Thanks for the clear explanations and your time to put up the vid!

I learned a few basic things!

  • @CESAR5FIVE We have since released the 2010 version of the videos which updates a lot of information. Saying it was DDR2 in the video was a bug we corrected before we released the 2009 videos on DVD.

  • @CESAR5FIVE

I am wonder if you are smart enough ,which you are not...why you didn't make an video, you know what because you don't know nothing.

  • haha its old school but it helps

  • Yes this is the 2007 version of the video. The 2009 version is also available here on YouTube and the 2010 version will be released soon on our website.

  • I have 9 gigs of DDR3......

  • Thank

    have nice day

  • and DDR 3

  • Yes this is the old version of the videos. If you go to our page on YouTube, hpcbdvd, you'll find the latest version that talks about DDR3.

  • thanx

  • describes what??

  • i got 2 x 2gig 6400 kingston ram oc'd to 1066 the voltage is only 1.9.

you would be surprised the abuse you can get away with giving these things.

  • probably your PC does not support more that 1.9 gigs of RAM

or one of the RAM's is broken

  • mobo supports 8 gigs of ram.(16 when 4gig dimm's come out.)

both are running, and in dual channel mode.

  • not two types . three. ddr3

  • Yes this video is 2 years old. The latest in on the website listed in the description.

  • i can understand that. i have DDR3 on my laptop

  • right, can you gimmi a link that describes it?

  • wikipedia. org /wiki /DDR3

or just put " wiki ddr3 " in google

  • thx

  • i have 2 gb ram ddr3 :D

  • they came out with ddr3 1.6ghz ram and ddr5 grafix cards from ati. the card is a monster!! im going to get it...

  • have you got ddr3

  • would there be much difference if I didnt have dual channeling (I've got 1 x 1GB, 1 X 2GB sticks)

  • i've got a 259mb RAM if i get a 1GB RAM would that be gd for playin games and would i have less lag when i get a 1GB RAM?

  • and wats the differenst between these:

    PC2-4300

    PC2-5300

    PC2-6400

and which one is the best?

  • Those are different bandwidth of ram also the speeds are different. Getting more ram will make games start up faster and run with higher frame rates. To get the full DVD with all of the videos that answer these and other questions go to the web address listed in the information for this video.

  • thank you ver much.

  • The highest number of PC2-???? u can get would be best but PC2-6400 is best

  • 259 is too low for playing games. You should really get 1GB. You will also get less lag

  • i got 192 mb of ram and i wanna buy 512mb of ram so is good speed for playing games and lessoning music at same time ?

  • it would be alright i would reccomend u buy 1gb then u could definately play games and listen to music at same time

  • if i have 512 mb and i want to get one 1gb for my halo 2 windows vista game now will it be fast enough

  • do the ram chips have to be the same brand aswell?

  • That will help but graphics card is going to be very inportant also

  • do the ram chips have to be the same brand aswell

  • no they just have to be the same type to fit in so its okay for whatever brand you buy 1GB i bought and think it will work since its DDR2 RAM size

  • yo thnx for the info XD

  • no you can mix them. Just make sure the specs are as close as possible.
