@F2bnp "Kings of Gravis Ultrasound". Could you tell me a bt more? Did triton productions have anything to do with Epic Megagames? If so, could you elaborate on that for me please?
@Szederp I don't know about that, it's just Epic Megagames games almost always had tracker music instead of midi music. They also included special support for the Gravis Ultrasound which ended up sounding the best due to higher Output Frequency. I mean come on, who doesn't love this /watch?v=rhgn_9XQCa0&feature=related
I remember GUS from years ago. I had Amiga 500 at the time and my friend got a GUS to his 486, cost was something incredible and still Amiga tracked kicked as at the time =) Great memories from this post! Thanks!
I used to have a sb16. I always liked the yamaha opl sound chip better than sampled sounds. Maybe it is for I began playing computer games on a commodore 64 and I enjoyed so much synthesized sounds I got accustomed to them. BTW I was 4 when I began using commodore home computers and 7 when I had my first IBM personal - it was my father's in fact! A 486! It was a great computer back then here in Sicily. I even had a graphic tablet. I feel nostalgic. Perhaps they were my favourite toys as a kid.
Yup, it's MOD music alright. The intro part is "Ambient Light" by Vogue, one of my favourite tracks. I'm not sure about the other track that appeared in this video though.
@YouCantKillMrGOATSE Hi, well really the roland LAPC-1 WAS the real best of the best,i was launched on 1989 OMG ultrahigh advanced for the year but a lot expensive after that the rest of the advanced on high end sound system cards was Emulated is very good but no compare with the LAPC-1 ( gus , awe32 , and roland SCC-1 )
What's the name of the songs that plays during the demo (the second one)?

This sounds like something coming out of an Epic Megagames game :D. It's not weird too, since they were the kings of Gravis Ultrasound.

This was playing on the Gravis booth at Comdex '93. I gave all of my GUS gear, and that CD to Trixter. I know he'll keep it around forever.
I miss that doskpop sound.

Wow, I'm stuck with an SB 16 and AWE 32. This sounds better than even the AWE 64. Holy shit.
YouCantKillMrGOATSE 3 years ago 9
@YouCantKillMrGOATSE I still have my AWE 64 in my ancient PC! :D

I remember watching this at Comdex '93.
I paid $80 for a 4x ATAPI cd drive and.. uh.. analog audio outputs.
I don't remember the cuts being so weak. God bless the (weak 10 years later) GF1.
