I love this song. The high school I graduated from had a band tradition of playing this at the end of every year end concert - alumnists are allowed to come back and play it as well, which is fun.

That's quite alright, seon2006. In fact, during the main melody, the horns play a clashing chord that is done on purpose for effect; perhaps that is what you heard.

Thank you for your opinion, seon2006. May I inquire as to your history in judging wind band ensemble pieces? Because this piece this band is playing was performed this song at OMEA State Finals and received straight Ones on the floor, the best rating you can receive (ie. Superior). Also, because of this piece, we have been accepted to perform at Carnegie Hall in New York. So if you think this music is "really bad," I suggest you listen to it again.

ok I apologise if I came off insentitive. I should rephrase by saying that the music sounds very disonant and thus not very enjoying to me. I may give it another try with the volume very low.
