PS3 Black Screen Problem

i tried everyones solutions then but still didnt work, i have got it working now all i did was take all the cables out of the back of the ps3 (mine is slimline) apart from the power supply then did then 2 beeps thingy to get your system menu to resotre database and files etc, then plugged in the hdmi cable into the back of the ps3 and it worked :D this may workd for some of you

u need to hold the power button down, whilst turning it ON, until u hear a second beep. then let go. have patience and give ur ps3 a few moments to reset its resolution settings. I had this problemm, but figured this out myself.

Quick Fix

1. Turn off PS3 and unplug HDMI cable.

2. Turn off PS3 power switch (on back of PS3)

3. Unplug TV from power source (wall, power strip, etc.)

*. At this point the TV is unplugged the PS3 is powered down completely and the HDMI cable is only connected to the TV.

4. Plug HDMI cable into PS3

5. Plug TV back into power source

6. Turn on PS3 Power switch.

7. If it works like mine the next time you start up (component/composite) it will ask to switch to HDMI

You tard. You have to hold the power buton till the second beep then it'll go back into standby mode. Hold the power button again until you hear a tripple beap. A menu will come up. choose reset PS3 system.

Persist with the resetting! Mine didn't work, was getting worried then suddenly went back on. Do you have sound coming through your tv? As in ps3 start melody ? If so, you should be ok !

if u ddnt get it to werk try holding for three beeps.. let go after the third beep and hold the reset button again for three beeps this time u should here a duble beep. if that doesnt work try doin it with the av components the red white and yellow wires..if that doesnt work either than you have to send it in because its the video card on your ps3

But im not too afraid, i have USB memory sticks.. that i use to back up my data... every... month, incase my ps3 does finally pack up. So thats my advice for people, even if they dont have any problems.

Get USB sticks, and back up your data on them.. its a pain in the ass to do, because you back up each save file individually, it takes around 10-40mins. But its worth being prepared.. do it as often as you see fit

I replaced the hard drive in my ps3 with a 500gig and have had the problem a few times since then. It turns out that the problem wasn't my ps3 at all. The problem was my tv. When i turned to the channel that I play my game on it wouldn't work. I kept getting the black screen. I finally figured out that if I turned my tv off and turned it back on it would work again. Something doesn't register once in a while for some reason. My brothers did the same thing. Glad yours works now. Happy gaming!

If nothing is working for you this is the real problem. The TV is the problem! You need to get your tv fixed. To make sure it is the TV use the ps3 on a different TV. If it works,the TV is the problem. Give this thumbs up if you agree.
