@wildtk123 They are female, they escape to Earth after their planet is destroyed. They take on Male Forms as a disguise on Earth, so Galaxia won't find them. The three Sailor Stars decided the best way to find their princess is to form a band, called the Three Lights. Seiya, Yaten, and Taki are holding concerts and allowing their voices to be heard on the radio, in high hopes, their Princess will hear them and come out of hiding from Sailor Galaxia.

The Starlights are actually females. They took on male forms because they thought it would be easier to find their Princess on Earth.
