  • Anybody taking the same risks as me is ok no matter what he rides or how it starts-shiny side up brother.

  • Using the polio button? Super kool bike but what happened to the kicker?! Mine's electric only, so I'm building another one that's kick only! Hmm- maybe I'm just jealous..

  • @Psychobikerbill: It kicks too- just hard to kick and hold the camera.

  • nice to bad you sold it. electric start very cool. pipes are sweet sounds great for a 650. i only hope my project bike is this detailed when im done mostly stock but great visual and audio anesthetist (00' sv650 i know its not a cruiser but im making it a custom street fighter)

  • Nice. What seat did you use?

  • sounds kinda weak

  • Dude you used the electric start=gay.

  • Dude- at least I have a bike and don't cruise youtube all day looking at other guy's bikes. ;-)

What can I say? I'm lazy.

  • I do have one, an '83 that I'm rebuilding, I also had an '81 that was mint. I'm just jealous because the electric start on my 83 is shot.

  • REALLY NICE! my dad and I are making a 79 xs 650 chopper, did you get yours bored? what other mods to the engine were done? your bike design is really similar to the one we are going to make

  • Stock bore, stock carbs (the ones for the '79's are quite adjustable), UNI pod filters, electronic reg/rac, but I think that's about it.

  • very nice sir, when we were taking the top part off the engine after we took it out the oil line snapped, he said we could make a custom one, he did for his H-D Ground Pounder ( his line didn't break ) did you make that weld-on?

  • Looks very nice- I enjoy a good custom. I don't care what you ride up next to- if you're on a custom, they've been outclassed. When I'm on my chopper, most guys tend to turn or speed away when I pull up next to them at a stop light. I see you posted this a year ago- the blue header pipes indicates a LEAN run condition- you really need to re-jet the carbs before you melt your exhaust valves.

  • Those are aftermarket thinwall exhuast pipes, so they blue *really* easily. Every indicator (other than that) says they are right on, so I'm not too concerned.

  • Nice bike, i have one TX 650 1974 and one XS 650 1973 here in Brasil, i love this machine.

  • this is exactly how i want my bike to look what did you do to it and where did you get your parts

  • The speedo came from Mike's XS. I fabricated the rear end from scratch with the help of a buddy of mine (who has the bender).

    Thanks for the compliments!

  • where did you get your spedometer from? I like the look of it. I have an 81 650 that is bare bones. No turn signals, no speedo, not much anything.

  • you from michigan , I live in mt pleasant and havbe a 1975 xs650 check out my video on my page and let me know what you think! you have a really nice bike thier did you fabvricate all the work your self? what rear end is that?

  • Like it! nice bike!

  • If you are gonna chop or bob use a Special- they are cheaper to find, and the Standards are getting to be worth some bucks. All of them have kick starts.

  • What year xs650 Yamaha is best to use for a bobber we want the kick start maybe the 72 or 73 as they seem popular in here.

  • sounds like the valve could use an adjustment..i have a '78 that ticks a bit too lol

  • what year is the bike man.i have an 81.that looks great.

  • It's a '79. Thanks!

  • Niiiiiice!
