  • ABSOLUTELY AMAZING MOVIE! my favorite now

  • Your reviews are like tweets, short and pointless. 2 mins and all you said was, "I liked DiCaprio, it's not a horror despite advertising and you felt it was a little long." Congrats on being completely redundant as a movie reviewer.

  • @MattrickBT it's not like he's a professional or anything, they're just youtube videos. calm down

  • @savingcalendars I'm sorry, when I see the word 'review' I'm expecting a review. You know, something that talks about the strong points of the movie and goes in depth about what worked and what didn't, lending some insight into themes and such.

This guys proves having a camera and a voice doesn't make you valid. Sad part is, I bet people subscribe and watch all his reviews and it actually convinces them to watch the movie. I've farted more competent reviews than this.

  • shutter island is amazing...leonardo di caprio did a great job in this movie and in inception too, he's an amazing actor!

  • I hated Sputter Island just despised it , another vomit comit was George Clooney's hitman movie

  • i liked shutter island except i thought some of the dream sequences were kind of cliche. you know, crying and all "you have to let me go..." "i can't, i love you too much" and stuff. the ending, i definitely didn't see coming. at first i thought the doctor was trying to trick him but then it turned out to be true and i was like whoa! but yeah, pretty good movie

  • Leonardo is such a good actor, he turns any film into a masterpiece. But Shutter Island had a lot of excellent actors in it, and no doubt it is a very good film and worth watching.

  • This was the best horror movie I ever seen best ending as well.

  • BRILLIANT MOVIE!! I couldn't decide if he was crazy or not in the light tower scene!!

I love the twist in the end... "which is worse? live as a monster? or die as a good man?" My interpretation of that, is that he has NOT regressed at that moment yet... But... he would rather be lobotomized so as to not have to live with those memories.

  • Although it was predictable its my type of movie so I would have liked it anyway even if it was crap which it wasnt. Just predictable. I just have a question. In the end does he pretend to have lost it again because he wants to stop being crazy and having these crises? Hence conciously wants lobotomy? Thats the impression I got

  • was rachel solano in the cave real or she existed only in his imagination..;

  • poop.

  • i thought it was a really good movie but probablly unlike others i felt a bit ripped off in the end when everything is explained and none of it was real but still a great movie

  • @MultiCharlie001 thats what makes the movie good

  • this movie was intellegent but what doesn't make sense is if he's a prisoner how come he isn't in chains like every other prisoner?and if the people know what's going on why don't they just tell him at the start?and why is he wearing different clothes from every other person? and if he was there for 2 years what's up with the scene at the beginning when he's coming there on the boat?

  • @jozrok i guess u missed the whole point of the movie

  • @geeefizzy i got the point of the movie , all im saying is that they shudda made it make sense , its a great movie there are just a bunch of flaws in it

  • @jozrok weren't you listening at the end? the doctor said that they thought that if they played along with him and role played his fake story with him, they could explain reality to him and he might become sane again. he wasn't in chains, nobody told him, and he's not wearing the same clothes cause that would interfere with his story as a marshall. the reason he came through on a boat in the beginning was so he could live through his story and think that everything he's thinking is real.

  • shutter island is amazing

  • do you think he was sane in da end n jus chose to die becuz he couldn't take da fact dat his wife killed his kids??

  • To the reviewer: We know it is "your" perspective. Stop using the phrase "I thought" so much.

  • I thought it was an excellent film. I wish more films thrillers were like this one.

  • I think the book was much better.

  • i love the ending line: would u rather live as a monster or die.....something something (forgot the rest)

  • @1jaredjacobs haha fail

  • if he really was insane why didnt they just show him his birth cirtificate or ask them to show them his birth cirtficate or to prove who his fathers are and where they live to prove he wasnt insane or sane

  • I agree that it wasn't really a horror movie. It's more of a psychological thriller. I loved the movie but it went over the heads of some of my friends. His performance in this movie maked me excited to see Inception!

  • i loved the movie. plot was great. cast was great. but what i really loved was the way the music underplayed some of the scenes. like the lighthouse scene at the end

  • the twist is that Teddy is actually a patient at Shutter Island and Chuck is none other than his care provider, Dr. Sheehan.

  • It was not what I expected at all. But in a very good way.

  • @Iamso4u i agree

  • At least if you did this in a television company they would give you a payment but wait people would get stunned to watch a wolf like weasel talk !! :D

  • what is it with you and advanced screenings?

  • He was insane that's why he got the labotome because he relapesed

  • thought it was going to be great, but i thought it was horrible. like no joke, i wanted my money back withthin the first hour and a half. I mean i gave it a fair shot, but it just sucked. worst movie i have seen, ever!

  • Dwnlad this in awesome quality now just Search Google 'TheNewsBuzz"

  • its about a detective who killed his wife and then he wasnt a detective! ya very good alrite! not 1:56

  • Dwnlad this in awesome quality now just Search Google 'TheNewsBuzz"

  • watch this movie in very good quality at watZch-liZnkZs.tZv (NO Z'S) lol

  • i hated the part where he says to his wife "why are you all wet" when she just came out of the rain

  • **MAJOR SPOILER ALERT**

To undestand this movie is to understand a little abit abt the history of psychiatry.First and foremost, the date chosen was very significant.1954...the first antipsychotic,Chlorpromazine was discovered in 1952.The discovery of this drug completely revolutionised the world of psychiatry.Previously, doctors virtually clueless as to how to treat psychiatric patients. They were basically chuck into mental asylum and numerous tests were done to them. cont.

  • Shutter Island - I just saw the full length version of this movie - moviesnewrelease . c o m (no spaces)

  • Dwnlad this in awesome quality now just Search Google 'TheNewsBuzz"

  • i loved this film it totally freaked me out cause he seemed so normal I like the bit at the end where he supposedly relapsed and says the stuff about living like a monster or dying a good man but it doesnt give a definite answer that he was actually clinically insane cuz when the doctor walks up to take him away you see a half concealed icepick which inforced what rachel in the cave said about them experimenting on him & the author even said the book was about not believing everything your told

  • @MulticolouredNinja ----> GOOD, nice comment, i like it. You really focus on the movie.

  • @MulticolouredNinja ----> Good, i like your comments, nice. U really focus on this movie.

  • @MulticolouredNinja Haha and did you notice at the end of the movie after Leonardo got up off the steps and did you hear what the detective "Chuck" called him? YUP, he called him Teddy, what he had been calling him throughout the whole movie axcept the last few minutes, so I DO assume that he wasn't insane.

  • @TheTreacherousTrevor And supposedly his "Real" name was Andrew, hahaha

  • @MulticolouredNinja exactly,u got it right!

  • i thought it would be some kind of horror ghost movie or something but i really liked it

  • D-cap is always good espeacially in the departed

  • I totally agree with what you said,a lot of my friends who hadnt seen the movie yet were like "is that scary, its a horror movie right?" but actually you're right its not at all.

Leonardo di caprio is amazing as usual and the ending was totally ..lets say unexpected =)

so BRAVo to all who paticipated in that excellent project =)

but personaly i dont think it was too long,i stayed captivated all the movie long =)

  • I loved it!!

    Leo was fantastic.

The movie keept me going, and the ending was shining!!

    Story ...great!

I really enjoy movies that DiCaprio is on...so basicly i watched it cuz he was on it.

Not on that, i think it wasnt too long :)

  • amazing movie!!!!

The ending was like....umm..."WOW!!!!, Did not see that coming!"

Basically, the ending totally got me...couldnt believe it.

But i recommend this movie. Go out and watch it. NOT a waste of money.

  • The term you're looking for is "psychological thriller".

  • - definetly mystery, I agree

    - Leo was really fantastic

    - the ending was pretty amazing

    - not sooo long... was okay

    This movie is KICKASS

  • I just saw it and I thought it was scary seriously. I was jumping out of my skin. I wasn't sure about the whole gorey-ness of it all tbh. But I must say the acting was top notch.

  • I agree with everything you said! great movie! :)

  • great story line!! i did find it scary though.

  • very gd !

  • I thought it was going to be a horror film. The trailer portrayed that feeling, but it was actually mroe of a thriller/mystery. I agree that the movie was pretty fantastic, it keep me thinking the whole time. I also did feel that it was a bit long, but i believe that added on to the suspense and mystery to the movie. I loved all the acting i felt that it was a prefect cast. Great movie over all, Better then I expeceted :)

P.s Love ur review and videos:)

  • psychological thriller, dude.

  • This was defiantly a great movie! I loved the ending, Chuck actually reminded me of Boston Rob from survivor for some reason which amused me even more :)

  • GREAT, GREAT, GREAT...great movie! TOO LONG?? R U kidding me? I wanted it to be longer

  • i definatly expected more of a horror, but i thought it was pretty interesting.

the music was a bit wierd though, but apparently that was down to the director :)

  • i thought the ending was screwed up!!

  • Psychological Thriller

  • Only one word - WOW. I usually don't like these kind of movies, but this one... Amazing. It's worth every penny. I'm going

to watch it on moviesonline43 . com for the second time! It would be a crime if you won't see it. The best movie of the

    year. No doubt about that!

  • It WAS The Greatest movie so far of 2010 in my opinion,, I Loved It Only Complaint Is That I Saw It With My Girlfriend And The Naked Mental People Jumping Aroundd Made It A Little Awkwardd,,

  • @sawman3000 I saw it with my mom. Who wins?

  • awesome movie with an Awesome twist ending.

  • K so I read the book before seeing the movie and the director did a fantastic job taking the book and bringing it to real life. It was excellent, and kind of weird for me bc I knew what was going to happen, so i got to see it in a different perspective. I'd categorize it as a thriller.

  • Erick...

  • Regarding this movie's genre, would it be considered Psychological? I personally don't like Horror/Suspense, so I just wanted a clarification in that area...

  • this movie was okay, maybe a 6/10 at the HIGHEST. you also forgot to mention that it is EXACTLY like the movie named THE UNINVITED, which was just made last year. and by the way, for all the people that do not know what happened in the end or are still confused, he knew he was crazy and didn't want to live with the fact that he had murdered his wife, so they let them scramble his brains, just clearing things up for you guys. also, watch THE UNINVITED and you will see that this movie is a ripoff.

  • I loved it. but I do agree that it's been portrayed as a horror movie, because some of my friends were afraid to watch it.

  • Terrible movie IMHO

  • i saw it lastweek and im still confussed..... im gunna have to see it again to figure it out haha :P it was a very good movie tho, but i agree it was to long.

  • His performance was fantastic! I agree that he was the best part of the movie.

  • *MAJOR SPOILER ALERT!! *

I cant decide whether it WAS actually real that he actually did kill his wife and was actually crazy, OR if he really WAS a detective and he WASN'T insane?!?! I still don't know. And what was with the end with the lighthouse shot? SO confusing! I kinda wish for some reason that he wasn't crazy and that he actually was a detective but that would mean that he got tricked and died even when he was right...sorry for my rant. Anyways, thought his performance was...(cont)

  • i totally agree it was soo awesome, but really confusing? like yea what did the lighthouse part mean?

and was EVERYONE! playing along with his ( dont know what to call it... drama) and if yes when did they stop? And like yea did he literally go off the island to do his hole role play?

sorry so many questions ... i get with what your confused about..

  • * SPOILER ALERT * i hate how ppl think this is confusing .. i mean really , its not & YES he did kill his wife after he came home & found the kids dead & he was insain && it showed the lighthouse at the end cuz thats where he was gonna get labatamied or however uu spell it. it was cuz he was so insane. hes not aa real detective. -.-

  • *SPOILER ALERT* @worldofchancesx3 - okay but remember the part when the doctor and leo and his therapist were in the lighthouse and the doctor said "look around, where are the torture devices or bodies" or something like that. obviously he was making it seem like they didn't do that. so why take him to the lighthouse if they didn't lobotomize people?

  • * SPOILER * im sure he didn't want to scare them & thats truly where they do it , back in the 50's in that time era they lobotomized insane people ALOT & they were talking in secret wen leo was in the room admitting that he wasn't teddy && they were saying if he was okay everything wud be fine & wen he started the teddy shit again , his dr. (leo's) nodded & gave the signal that hes just the same && then they took him to the lighthouse.

  • *MAJOR SPOILER ALERT!!*

...spectacular, especially the part in the lighthouse with his partner and the creepy doctor, and he has the gun and he's like, "Dont move, dont move!!" That was awesome!! I was so into it. Wow im writing alot. Love Leo and I thought it was an awesome movie that I will definitely have to see again!! :D

  • eric i have one question for you....r u on that crack cocaine stuff cuz you seem a little out of it in this lol

  • the greatest twist in a movie of all time

  • at first i was so scared to see the movie...cause i just DON't DO scary movies, but my mom dragged me into it anyways(love her still!). I gotta say it definately wasn't as scary as I thought it would be...i just found the movie to be completely confuzing. My mom and I are completely puzzled by it nd were still discussing the plot of the movie trying to figure things out. Haha..yeah. Leonardo did a GREAT job for the role that he had, however, and i completly agree with that.

  • thx jerk for tellin me

  • dumbass he said SPOILER ALERT

  • It was portrayed as sort of being a horror movie. It was more a very deep psychological thriller. I had to pay a lot of attention to details to piece things together before the ending because, like you mentioned in your review, it's a pretty lengthy film. I also agree that Leonardo D. C. had an outstanding performance. I don't usually say that about celebs... but he made the plot very personal and believable. Overall I'd give it a 8.5 out of 10.

will you believe the facts, or the conspiracy???

  • Asshole when you scroll down u still see it anyways so shut the fuck up u wrinkly cunt!!!!!

  • nice one...

  • i felt the movie was building up too much for the ending which it had, maybe if he made it back to society or something, idk, .. my opinion

  • The rule of 4 is the 4 anagrams.

  • i really liked it. i was engaged the whole time but this is NOT a popcorn movie! you really have to concentrate cuz it takes u on some twists and turns!! i didnt feel like it was too long. i mean it was LONG but it didnt annoy me. leo was AMAZING!!! i wish this had come out in time for him to be nominated for awards!! the twist ending broke my heart. i absolutely did not see it coming. but i think im gonna watch it again and see what i missed in the first veiwing. overall id give it a 9/10!!

  • @pajamagirl123 That's the trick of this kind of movies, you have the urge to see them again from another perspective ;)

  • Exactly! i can't wait to spot the little details i missed the first time!!

  • your cute :)

  • i love that movie! and it wasnt long! i was just into it XD

  • This movie reminded me of Silent Hill

  • omg i just have to say that anyone that said this movie was not amazing is crazy. i had to pee so bad that my blood pressure was raising. but the movie was so intriguing from beginning to end

  • do u think hes actually crazy? or do u think that it was a extremely well planned out cover up?...dun dun dun!

  • this guy cant make up his mind

  • Comment removed

  • they call it a "thriller" these days

  • my friend saw it and said it was terrible...... it the editing was bad and the plot was scattered... the acting was good but the editor screwed it up

  • @kandyjunkie777 true

  • and you are going to take your friends word for it, just for that, dicaprio is the 67th patient

  • i thought the same thing

  • the editing was bad at some parts but it didn't really stick out during the entire film... i guess you can say the plot was scattered, but that's really what makes the movie work...like if the plot wasn't scattered then the ending wouldn't have made any sense...and im probably not making any sense to you unless you've seen it

  • that movie had more wrong with it then good how can ur only complante be it was too long i was laughing the whole movie bacause it was like watching a m.night shamulan movie it had random ass lines like hes having a dream where he sees the lady who is missing she had 3 dead kids by her and was asking for his help so he pick up the dead lil girl and while he was walking the dead lil girl says im dead... like what the fuck i was the only one laughing it could of been way better

  • boring movie and I was so excited. Not really much anxiety. think the sixth sense meets identity. Thats about it....It was well done but kinda dull it looked good but you dont really care. Its close to cape fear without being able to relate to the characters.

  • Ill save you like 2 and a half hours you will never get back. They say he has been in the ward for 2 years because he killed his wife and they have been letting him role-play.. But its so boring, bad movie but good acting i wouldn't recommend it

  • i loved the movie...

leonardo did an amazing job just like in all his movies but the end caught me of guard

  • look at this review /watch?v=egwhoLtHBrE

  • it was a huge mind rape :P

  • yah i agree. i also saw a special screening of the movie because i have a good friend who's father works on movies, and her father did shutter island.

overall i thought it was pretty good, but i don't think something i would see again. yes and it was too long and kind of dull at points.

  • FOR FUCK SAKES YOU GUYS ARE FUCKING IDIOTS what do you expect from Martin Scorsese movies...when has he ever made a short film you idiots

  • loved the movie!! ending caught me wayyyy of gaurd!!!!

  • i LOVED this movie! yes it wasnt extremely scary....but i LOVED the twist! as confusing as it was..i thought that was amazing how it all tied together! if you like mysteries it would definitely be a great movie but if u dont like thinking about things then its not really for u.

  • @XmkredblackX you do know he wasn't crazy at the end right?

  • @kckproductions he was crazy but in the end he understood his problem.... when he said - living like a monster or dying as a good man- was prefering to himself and he decide to ...lobotomi!! that's my opinion, sorry for my english

  • the movie wasnt scary at all!!!! and the ending was sooo confusing....

  • LEONARDO DICAPRIO!<3

  • i dont know about everyone else but this movie confused me, ALOT haha

  • He talks a mile a minute lol!

  • this movie was great. i agree it was a little too long thought. i think its sort of the next 6th sense type thing, but over all i was very happy with it. :)

  • watch?v=XyLOSp8kkd0

  • I saw the trailer and was curious. Was pleasantly surprised that it was actually great! I think I'm going to get the Blu ray when it's out. I watched the film on infinitefreemovies. com and enjoyed very much.

  • idk why some ppl say it sucked. you can say it wasn't great but it was definitely good. best movie till summer i'm sure.

  • your beard looks really weird, man....are you like an Amish?

  • i loved it

  • same old story about nazis and jews, hidden underneath a hollywood cliche...sad,i expected an actually good movie

  • ... did you even watch it? like, really? nazis and jews are barely a part of it...

  • funny than any trailer i have ever seen. but the dark knight was pretty cool.

  • ahhhhhhhhhhmazing!!! this movie is my favorite!!

    leo dicaprio <3333333

  • i completely agree with you, I thought it was going to be a horror movie too. But still it was still an amazing movie

  • I love love lovedddd it! Not one of Scorsese's best but still really good!

  • Leos performance was amazing. I mean the ending where he's crying in the lake is just....wow. I got chills

  • i hated the ending! im such a sucker for happy endings. :( not impressed. Leonardo's acting was amazzzzzing though!

  • lol the ending was sad not the way ending but when we see what really happened ;( it was really disturbing but visually amazing aswell

  • I hated shutter island.

  • I was hoping youd do a poiler part of the movie for those of us who had seen it. I agree with the length being too long although i was captivated throughout it. a catch 22. however im not sure if the ending is made for us to believe that he was infact a patient or he just decided he couldnt fight controversey going on and sacrificed himself almost. Im researching it to death now like i did with paranormal activity but i though the film was brilliant. very good script.

  • the ending was strange to me too. in the book andrew (teddy) understands who he is and recovers...like in the movie...but then he becomes a resident at shutter island, basically living a normal life. I thought the ending in the movie was an interesting change and actually a lot cooler than the ending in the book. I think it speaks more about the character =))

  • well i guess ill have to read the book then! thanks for the reply. i loved the movie and thought it was absolutely amazing. i hate reading book after the movie but in this case im sure ill be just as thrilled.

  • I can agree, reading the book after seeing the movie already can be a drag, but there might just be some parts in the book that might not have been in the movie. ;)
