No, they're all older it's physically impossible for them to sound as good as they did when they were young. Maybe you can't tell but they don't sound the same. Angus makes more mistakes because he's not as quick as he used to be.
It's not a dig at AC/DC, everyone ages. I love AC/DC but you can't fool yourself into thinking they really don't age.
Oh no,I can tell and notice the mistakes, but I mean they don't fuck up a lot, just every now and then. They still sound good.I didn't say they didn't age I merely meant that I consider them this good,I mean you've seen them this year I'm sure you know Angus does what he does great at his age.He seems to play Thunderstruck better now than he did at The Toronto Rocks Concert in 03'.And, yes the sound has changed, that half a step down tuning still bothers me when they play You Shook Me All Night Long
Yeah, you're right it naturally happens, but I think they are strangely better now than they were on Stiff Upper Lip Tour. That 8 years did Brian's voice wonders and the rest of the band is kickin.Thunderstruck now to me,maybe just me,sounds....not as good as the Live At Donnington Version....but better than any version I've heard from 2000-2003.I hope they have at least 1
Yes, I agree they sound better than SUL. I think this is partly because of Brian's voice surgery, and also because they tuned down, giving them that darker, TRE-like sound.
One thing I don't like is that Brian is singing the Thunderstruck intro like a beat after he should be. Check out a recent video from this tour and see what I mean.
And I agree a Live album would be beyond awesome but I doubt it.
Well if it does happen(a Live Album) it should be fairly soon.If You Want Blood and LIVE 92' were 14 years apart and it's been 17 since LIVE 92' so we're due anytime now.I hope they do a live album, release a DVD, and Do One more studio album. Then I would be happy
I heard that a live album was in their deal with Sony but they switched to Columbia before that could happen.
A DVD is pretty much set in stone. Columbia wouldn't miss out on an opportunity like that.
A live CD may be something Columbia would like but the band probably wouldn't.
And I'd say another album is likely considering Mal convinced Brian to continue the tour into 2010. Besides, BI would be a pretty bad last album IMO. I don't like the production, it's too digital and compressed.
I believe the DVD will happen, and a Live Album maybe.I agree that Black Ice was a little over produced.I think they should kinda take a Flick Of The Switch sort of path now.You know, harder more raw but with good enough production to highlight the band not over polish them.I also think they should stick to the 10 song an album format,I understand that they felt that the 8 year gap made it necessary for 15.But that's just to many songs.I like them all but I only love about 8 of them.
I agree they should go with more raw production, but FOTS was still not the best production and had Brian too quiet. I think Ballbreaker was excellent production-wise. Raw, but well produced.
And I think the more songs the merrier. Extra songs wont ruin the album, and they may become some people's favorites, so I see no reason to drop songs for the sake of having a 10 song album.
I wouldn't go that far, but yeah, the drums aren't recorded as well as on the previous two albums. Also, I hear a weird clicking during Bedlam in Belgium and it bothers me.
well.. they can record it but they won't put every concert for sale as a LIVE Disc, for example..in the black ice tour they're having about 4 concerts in a week...imagine all the dvds they would have..
I like stuff from Blow Up Your Video. I wish they played Ruff Stuff and Nick of Time, but they don't play any song from the time Phil Rudd wasn't in the band, except Thunderstruck, of course!
that was not the point .....the point was the songs they play. They are both great drummers, for sure. The only song Phil Rudd performs from the time he was absent is Thunderstruck....all the other songs were recorded with him.
Nobody can play Let There Be Rock or Whole Lotta Rosie like him. Chris Slade fills too much and that's why AC/DC's drummer will always be Phil Rudd.
Ok ;) Yeah I know that :) AC/DC's drummer is Phil Rudd and will always be ;) But if he quit the band for some reason I think Slade would be the best to take his place :)

Well they do fuck up more often now that they're older, naturally.
And the guitars are less distorted because they don't hit the strings as hard.
They are absolutely great for their age, but Thunderstruck is a good example of how he can't pick as smoothly or hard as he used to.
