My experience is, that even a thaiboxer has its dificulties against a boxer if the fight suddenly starts.The boxer can knock people out within seconds. Of course the thaiboxing dude for example has advantages against more people with lower experience in martial arts. I had thaiboxing for about 4 years and i had many street fights. When i came to boxing as my major sport, fighting without the gloves was really, really easy and fast..
I am simply relying on logic and experience when presenting the assumption and largely proven fact that since an MMA fighter trains for a larger of degree of possibilities in competition, and a street fight has an immense space of possibilities for a fight; that said MMA fighter has more of a chance to win, then a boxer who trains one-dimensionally with a large degree of restrictions and rules.
An unwrapped hand is also likely to break against a human head or elbow during a street fight.

There are some truly talented and athletic MMA fighters, "Anderson Silva" but most of them are no where near the athletes or have the talent that professional boxers are. Yeah uh huh, I have seen enough MMA fights and was appalled at the scrubs they had fighting. Almost no skill at all in their punches, poor endurance etc. MMA is a yawn fest for second rate athletes. Only a few MMA stars are any good, where all professional boxers, even the ones you don't hear about have better conditioning talent, and skills.

MMA has more dimensions and less rules than boxing, so MMA has more dynamics. For this reason MMA simulates a brawl or streetfight more realistically than boxing.

Boxing takes a lot of skill, conditioning, and courage; after all it is very dangerous just look at that knock out punch. I like watching it and training in it.
To answer your rhetorical question, the answer is implied in your presentation. A journeymen boxer would be favored to beat an MMA champ under boxing rules, and vice-versa.

I am Asian and come from a culture of martial arts from centuries ago... I love MMA and boxing aswell... you can never knock a boxer in a street fight... one punch and its done... I have great respect for boxers... the speed of their hands without the 10oz - 12oz is incredible...
so its pretty ludicrous to say a boxer would get mopped the floor against an MMA fighter...

My experience is, that even a thaiboxer has its dificulties against a boxer if the fight suddenly starts.The boxer can knock people out within seconds. Of course the thaiboxing dude for example has advantages against more people with lower experience in martial arts. I had thaiboxing for about 4 years and i had many street fights. When i came to boxing as my major sport, fighting without the gloves was really, really easy and fast..

I am simply relying on logic and experience when presenting the assumption and largely proven fact that since an MMA fighter trains for a larger of degree of possibilities in competition, and a street fight has an immense space of possibilities for a fight; that said MMA fighter has more of a chance to win, then a boxer who trains one-dimensionally with a large degree of restrictions and rules.
An unwrapped hand is also likely to break against a human head or elbow during a street fight.

thats an obvious assumption... but just cause you train in various styles doesn't not mean you have an advantage on a boxer... take a newbie that trains in striking, BJJ, wrestling for one year... take another newbie that trains entirly on boxig for one year
but them on the street... that newbie boxer is more experianced in his one art than the other guy... most likely that boxer will win cause the other guy has less experience in striking

you both have good points, but i think the most important thing is the character of the person fighting, i'ts the 'person' that makes these arts affective. I once saw a kid that was a brown belt in TKD that fought some random kid on the street, and guess what the random kid got the best of him! Its really a state of mind, goes along with aggression and talent, if you have neither...it wont matter what art you study!
