  • olmaz is not it is not happening. Olmaz is that wont happen. That is more correct.

  • @n8glenn "Göt" kelimesi daha çok yakışıyor böyle adamlar için.

  • Comment removed

  • @n8glenn Ignore him. This is actually a great initiative you took. There will always be asses around.

  • @n8glenn thats true he is an ass

  • Awesome!

  • you're going well, and thanks for the video!;)

  • Actually the longest word in Turkish is muvaffakiyetsizleştiricileştiriveremeyebileceklerimizdenmişsinizcesine. not the Çekoslavakya word.

    Çekoslavakya olayında -mısınız?ın ayrı yazılması gerekiyo soru eki olduğu için. some Turkish idioms;

    nasılsın? -how are you?

    nasılsınız? -how are you?(formal)

ne var ne yok? how are you doing?

    güle güle -good bye

    görüşürüz -see you

    evet -yes

    hayır -no (pronounce like 'higher')

  • I respect your efforts on turkish,my friend.Övgüye değer.Thumbs up!

Also i would like to say that i don't care if there are some mistakes in the words.Even if we write görüşürüz,in speech,we swallow and soften the letters and we are saying "gürüşürüs" to speak faster.

  • ni var ni yok :D gıle gıle :D güzel yalnız telaffuzda biraz eksiklik var.Konuşmada tam uymuyor.Oda zamanla olur zaten.

  • the point of learning alphabet pronunciation is that; everything in turkish is written how you read it. no exceptations. for example in english reading of letter "c" may change in different words. in turkish you never do this. it's always written how you say. importance of pronunciation comes with this. you never see a turkish native speaker asking "hey how you spell this word?"

  • yimisak ge diyisine kurban senin la

  • yımışak ge diyişine kurban senin la... well done bro

  • çekoslavakyalılaştıramadıklarımızdanmısınız :) longest turkish word :))

  • Does anybody want to talk with me ? (Turkish) :)

  • 6:::ん\]⒞]ん]{}ん」:ん」s@ん」「d」「m」f

  • Can u speak turkish? :))

  • @RockFreakTuqba A little bit. I can get by.

  • niçin türkçe öğreniyorsunuz ki ne işinize yarayacak:))

  • @muken63 elemanın eşi türkmüş ondan.eşi türk olanlar için yani:))

  • Nasılsın? = How are you? this is correct but Ne haber? not fully same. Ne haber? = What's up?

  • "Yok. sol" is incorrect !!! Correct --> Yok, sağol !

"Tamam" is correct but "Alur" incorrect ! Correct --> Olur !

"Gürüşürüz" is false writing. True --> Görüşürüz

  • @mustig7725

What's the difference in pronunciation between

    ö and ü ? I always have a problem with this?

  • @MsKatBen we can ö as "ou" but ve read ü like u in the word "tribute" it is a bit hard for those who are not native speaker :))

  • great lessons, just a question, when Turkish is written is it only in the printed form or can it be in cursive like in English?

  • @zakwan10 I don't think there's a cursive form, I've never seen one but it's possible that there's one that I haven't seen.

  • @zakwan10 The letters are like English but with some new letters

  • this is really cute :) I like your pronunciation. it's pretty good! you nailed ü pretty well too :)

best of luck everyone who is learning Turkish! :)

  • I haven't heard that pronunciation of nasilsin before - which part of turkiye is your wife from? :-)

  • did you self teach yourself turkish? i would really like to work, but there are no classes offered here

  • @MiszSweetNothings Yes, i taught myself, but I have the advantage of being around turkish people alot (that's why I'm learning). Turkish isn't an easy language to grasp at first but it gets easier as you go along.

  • @n8glenn thanks. my boyfriend is Turkish, but we don't get to see each other a lot right now, so it is hard for him to help me. so, unlike you i do not have that advantage :(. like you said it is difficult to grasp. i am having a hard time. do you have any other book suggestions? or suggestions in general?

  • @MiszSweetNothings "elementary turkish" is a good textbook, I suggest you read that, I also suggest you listen to turkish music as much as possible, watch turkish tv, or movies, and read turkish children's books. It also helps if you play a game where you try to name things you see in turkish or translate random sentences into turkish. Just keep asking yourself at random moments "can I say that in turkish"?

  • @n8glenn thanks so much! this is really important to me, so i truly appreciate it :D

  • @n8glenn In this way, I think I improved my knowledge in English by making random translations of what I've heard in my language. CNN has helped me also.

  • O with two dats can be pronounced as earth first sound we have when we say earth is exact sound of "o" with two dats and I think "u" with two dats is smilar to eww :)) best to my knowledge.I played your video to my wife :)) I hope it helps to her

  • i wish my wife would speak as much as you do. yo are pretty good at it. i would like to know how you improve your language skill thus far. it may be helpful for me so i can tell my wife. tesekkurler calismalarinizda basarilar.

  • @Herseykardeslik cok tesekkur ederim! Turkce musik dinliyorum, ve turkce kitaplar okuyorum, ve turkce dil benim cocugumle konusuyorum.

  • the C with a line comming from the bottom is Ç

im portuguese, we also use that letter ^^

i hope that now, two years later u speak much better.

  • 6:19 yok (sol) - (is wrong)

    yok (sagol) is right

  • he isnt good at turkish :P

  • @rezzaq1020 Good is a relative term.

  • @n8glenn i appreciate for your working but u should study hard :)

  • @rezzaq1020 Thank you, and I appreciate for your working too.

  • actually the ö should not be proununced as ew. It should be said as the e in nerd. In other to this your good helal olsun be! :]

  • thank you so much for uploading these videos!! im an arab and i love the turkish language i wanna learn it so badly!! so thanks again!! xD

  • yanış yerden ayırmadım kendi kendine bu şekilde çıktı :) artı 2 ay olmuş aynı konuya döndürme beni :)

  • I appreciate your effort man! I have two corrections.

There is nothing like "Alur" but "Olur" which is similar to "Okay".

And one more thing. The short version of "Thank you" is NOT "Sol" but "Sağol". "Sol" means left :)

Tamam mı? :))) [Is that ok?]

  • Tesekkur ederim for making this series. I know only a few words in Turkish but want to learn the grammar so I can write to my good friend in his own language. Do you recommend a good online live lessons?

  • I love you! I'm so glad that there are nice Americans who love our culture and language! Most just think we are Arabs and look down on us :| seni cok seviyorum, azina saglik arkadas xx

  • cok tessekur ederim! San de! Benim kizim de Ingelizce ve de Turkce.

  • :)! hic bir sey degil, ve turkcen super! xx My father is English and my mother is Turkish too, and in my opinion this is the best combanation of cultures! I feel so lucky to be a part of both, you made the right choice in marrying a Turkish women:) your childeren will be very blessed like me xx and thank you again for your brilliant videos, dont stop them!

  • I'm turkish aswell im 14 years old i speak very flueaently even though i was 5 years old when i moved to canada, the good thing about our language is the fact that is how ever your write somthing thats how it's read you will learn it fast but sinse this vid is poretty old you probably learned it by now andways Iyi yaptin, insallah guzelce orenirsin, see my turkish writing sucks but i can pull that off the spot =D

  • Ya bi sacma sapan konusmayin, nerde yasiyosunuz kodugumun koyluleri sizi. Allah'a ismarladik diyen bir adam bile yok Turkiyede. Gorusuruz, hadi eyvallah, kendine iyi bak dersin ama Allah'a ismarladik ne ya? Gotunuzden element uydurmayin.

  • Önce Anadolu'da yaşa da sonra yorum yap.

  • it is not true.... kipiloji, which fucking country you live...

  • The simple rule about the turkish alphabet is especially if you are familiar with spanish, you simply learn the sounds and pronounce each sound for each letter in a word ALL THE TIME. The difference with spanish is that, in spanish there are still some letters that are either silent like "h" at the beginning of the word when you say "hablo" or get different sound that what the letter represents such as the sound of "h" in huh in the word "Jesus" you don't say Gesus but you pronounce it as Hasus

  • we usually say Naber for Ne haber :D

  • hahaa adam bildiğin saydı lan alfabeyi

  • çekostovakyalılaştıramadıklarımızdanmısınız :)

  • Yanlış yerden ayırmışsın kardeş :)

    Çekoslavakyalılaştıramadıklarımızdan mısınız? =)

  • it's not "sol" its "sağol". "sol" means left.

and it's not "alur". its "olur".

  • @ugurmal I think he wrote it that way so English speaking people can pronounce them right. because in English "alur" sounds like "olur" in Turkish and "sol" sounds like "sağol".

  • I appreciate you for your efforts...

  • im self turkish but you were awesome, not immature or something;p

  • I'm embarassed that you know the Turkish Alphabet and I don't. I was born there but have been here since 1975. Kudos!

  • Cekoslavakyalilastiramadiklarimizdanmisiniz

    Longest Turkish Word :DDD

  • Thats true orthography:

    Çekoslovakyalılaştıramadıklarımızdan mısınız?

Sorry for my people forgeting our language :P  :)

  • kusura bakma Türkçe dil desteği benim klavyemde yoktu...

  • Ondan değil de -mısınız'ı yanlış ayırdın sandım. Meğer youtube'da hata varmış, benimkisi de yanlış yerden ayrıldı.

  • sorry to turkisharmed,

"-mızdan" separated becouse of a bug in Youtube.

  • No problem..

  • Muvaffakiyetsizleştiricileştiriveremeyebileceklerimizdenmişsinizcesine

  • Congratulations n8glenn ! =)

    Tebrikler n8glenn !

keep it up and take care..!

Devam et ve kendine iyi bak..!

    We love you..!

    Seni seviyoruz..! =)

  • wow, absolutely amazing vid. i PERSONALLY , appreciate it..

really helps alot to start out fresh

  • Hey, I really liked your video, learning Turkish is really fun! Just a quick note: the spelling of "see you" is görüşürüz. it makes a lot of sense because "görmek" means "to see", the "üş" suffix makes it an action between 2 or more people, and "ürüz" is the aorist ending for "we". I don't mean to get all grammar on you, it's just that thinking of it this way helps me remember. keep up the great videos!

  • hey mate! its not alur its "olur"! you are great thanx

  • Hello. I am a native Turkish speaker. You speak very well. How did you learn Turkish so well? And I think your video is really usefull.

Thanks! :) I can help with Turkish whose who need to help to learn Turkish.

  • Merhaba :-)

I'm planning on studying Turkish next year (translator-intepretor). I really like the sound of Turkish :-) But, it seems very difficult because you don't pronounce every letter of a word, isn't it? Here in Belgium people say that Turkish is even more difficult than Russian.

    Greetz

  • Merhaba! =)

Turkish is a cool language. I can help you if you want. I prepare some lessons for my friends who want to learn Turkish. I record my voice and send them a text for the lesson. So you can follow it by the text. We pronounce every letter and letter's pronunciation always same. We always make the same sound for a letter.

Turkish easier than Russian our alphabet is common! :)

  • I am trying to learn turkish any tips?

  • Sir, to correct you i am also learning Turkish....For the goodbye, The person who stays says "Gule Gule" but the person who is leaving says "Allah IsmarladIk Versin"

  • and now i have to correct my self..."Allah IsmarladIk" without the versin

  • Well, actually you missed a letter in between the two parts of this long word, the correct spelling is:

allahaısmarladık. Note that it is written as one single word, not two, as you suggested. :)

    Good luck with Turkish.

    :)

  • Thank you. And noted.

  • No, I am a Turkish girl. " Güle güle " and " Allah'a Ismarladık" . Allah Irmarladlk Versin does not make a sense.

  • Hi, no one is using "Allah'a ismarladik" in Turkish. Maybe only old people. Allah or God isn't important in turkish language and Turkish people aren't religious type.

"allah'a ismarladik" means "I am giving you to your god and be safe with him". sounds weird huh? It's not in turkish. But noones using this anymore.

Just say "Gule gule". "gorusuruz" "bye"

  • I'm Turkish, i'm 20 years old and i'm using "Allah'a ısmarladık."

  • I'm Turkish 25 years old and I use Allah'a ısmarladık. It's not used %100 but at least %50. I don't know where do you live but you are completely wrong..

  • GOOODDD

Very diligent effort, indeed! Thanks. I teach my native language (Turkish) voluntarily in USA. And, you are more talented than most of my students. Your pronunciation of "I" and "Yumusak ge" is perfect.

  • Thanks very much, I really enjoy turkish so far, it's a wonderful language.

  • Selam! Thanks for the add. I have friends at work from Turkey and it got me really interested in learning turkish.

  • The mistakes in the video:

    Görüşürüz(not gürüşürüz)

    Yok sağol(not sol!)

    Olur(not Alur)

And I wanna add that he is talking so sweet in turkish :)

  • Thank you, my spelling isn't so great in Turkish.

  • There is an even longer version, try this:

    Çekoslavakya-lı-laş-tır-a-ma-dık-lar-ımız-dan-mıy-mış-sın-ız?

    Something like:

Are you said to be one of those people whom we couldn't turn into a citizen of Chekoslavakia?

  • and one more thing; you've written "yok, sol" but it's wrong. you shoul write "yok, sağol."

  • ok, I never saw it written down before, so thanks for the info.

  • it is written as sağol, actually it is changed form of "sağ ol", ol for be, sağ is for righ(alright), literally sağol means "be alright"

  • great job, but you should work on spelling the alphabet well. i know it's looks different to read, but keep on working.
