Apparently the people who made this movie didn't think anyone would like this movie, they said "who wants to watch a lion get framed for murder?" but its an epic movie ;)
I remember as a kid, walking down my hallway on all fours like a noble lion and roaring with Simba when I reached the TV to claim Pride Rock as mine. Ah this movie never gets old. From Hakuna Matata to Can you feel the love tonight, I still get chills to this very day in every little detail of the movie. R.I.P. Old Disney
This is without a doubt, in my opinion the best animated film EVER. It beats Spirited Away, which is something worth saying. The music is part of one thing and this scene proves alone that you don't need words to tell the ending to the film. There are so many other examples in this film alone where it shows the same thing.
Simba climbing up the rock has been inscribed in my mind as the single greatest animated film ending of all time.You really can't get any better than The Lion King.
Just noticed - at the beginning Rafiki held Simba above his head as a new-born cub at the front of Pride Rock and then at the end, Rafiki doesn't look like he's aged AT ALL after so many years lifts Simba's new-born cub up with Simba as King.
This is the best movie ever made and it gives me the chills every time I see this scene. I love this movie. But after watching it you feel disappointed that Disney can't come up with something as original as this movie ever again.
This scene never fails to make me cry....the music is just so emotional and powerful just that moment when Simba climbs Pride Rock to take his plave as king....beautiful. and just so powerful. lion King will always be a fave of mine <3
@xKamehameha perhaps they were blown away by the sheer epicness of the roar, music, and theme that they missed the like button due to the flood of tears! :)
This song makes me think of my mother. She would tell me so many great things just like Mufasa told Simba. Now that she's gone, I still remember what she wants me to do. This song is so powerful. R.I.P Mom
this movie brings back so many memories of me and my uncle (my father figure in my life), One of the reason why its my favorite movie, I always use to pretend I was simba and he was mufasa, r.i.p uncle
When I first saw the movie, I was 2 years old. Now I'm 19 and I've probably seen it a hundred times (literally) and I still get chills on my back and tears in my eyes when I see this scene. A truly epic masterpiece!
I haven't watched the Lion King since I was younger. Saw this in 3D a week ago and I bawled like a baby. Even the older man next to me was sobbing XD I was crying half because you don't realize how sad the powerful the movie is until you get older and the other half because it was like reliving my entire childhood. <3 this movie.
I started crying in this scene. :"D If I could add anything to my house, it would be a big movie theater so I could watch the Lion King like I did in 3D and cry like I do. I love it that much. :]
The most powerful emotional scene in the movie. It's even more epic on the big screen in 3D. 17 years later this movie blows all other animated movies out of the water!
do you remember wanting to run through the plains of africa with simba? swing through the jungle with tarzan? go to the enchanted castle with bell? go to the ball with cinderella? ride a magic carpet with alladin?save china with mulan?shrink to toy size to play with buzz and woody? turn into mer-people and going under the sea with ariel?
if you do or want disney to bring backmovies like this re-post this comment maybe the disney corporation will see it and get there heads on straight
it's all thanks to hans zimmer for making this possible and if it were'nt for lebo m. bringing in the african chorus hans woulda been dead. THANK YOU LEBO.
Literally the only film that makes me cry twice. This moment is so astonishing: beautiful animation, incredible music (god, I love mr. Zimmer!) and so many emotions put into a matter of seconds. That's pure magic. Disney's entire idea of magic and fairy tales can be discussed but you can't deny when they make films like this they do their shit right!
Best Disney film ever! I have a have goosebumps during the throne ascending bit. It's the must powerful and emotional scene I have seen in any Disney film and it's a shame that Disney does not make any movies like this anymore for the current generation. Anyone who dislikes this should feel ashamed of themselves
This move has everything! Great characters, it's funny, it's romantic, sad...the music is just amazing! This is without a doubt the best disney movie ever!!! And the "King of Pride Rock" scene is the best one in the whole movie!
From the moment Rafiki says 'it is time' I really have to stop myself crying like a loony. One of my favourite movie moments! Though the film in general is my favourite one ever! And I don't care if people think it's a childish choice, I love it and I know I'm not the only one! =D
@kittykat8905 Indeed it is not a childish choice, for sure. What I like in Disney's canon of animated features is that they are not only for children, but for all ages.
The Lion King has awesome animation, Oscar-winning musical score, great story and a beautiful message for all ages.
@kittykat8905 It is not a childish choice. This movie has some very adult themes. The story is very serious. It was simply animated to make it more child friendly. This made them more money =D
@kittykat8905 Should have been rated PG, because some scenes are certainly not childish. I would think a child needs parental guidance when Mufasa gets killed, murdered no less. Kinda violent to be childish. More like an animated drama than a kids movie I'd say. I like that movie because it lacks certain childish qualities you see in today's kids movies, not to mention being the greatest Disney movie of all time!
1:02 He looks so much Like Mufasa, I love this movie, it was my favorite from when I was a kid.Such a powerful movie and it taught such great lessons, movies lack that today. My favorite scene from Lion King is when Mufasa is showing Simba the land when the sunrises and then when they're walking and Mufasa explains the Circle of Life to him, at 19 that still has stayed with me.
Awwwee...This is the best scene in the whole movie..I always cry though because its just that epic...and with this quality.....I cried even more(': Long live The Lion King!!!
absolutely the most epic moment of the movie. I remember having some kind of peak experience when I last saw it, the scene combined with the music holds an enormous amount of energy and symbolism. This will always be my number 1 movie =D
This ending is Wonderful, especially from 1:42 until the end! But let me tell you something... even when I was a child, i didn't liked the 2nd Lion King... it is a deception for me.
It would be better if Disney had kept the same Director, Producer and the whole team of Lion King 1! And even taken 5 or more years to make the movie! So we could see a Wonderful movie like the 1st Lion King! But remember: I have Nothing against who likes Lion King 2! This is only a opinion!

Lion King = my childhood. ;___; I read Macbeth in english class this year and I couldnt stop thinking it.
Simba = Malcolm / Macduff
Mufasa = King Duncan
Scar = Macbeth
Nala = Macduff also (convinces Simba to come back)
Rafiki = Witches? :O
