  • hi ! I would like to know if the ram is reliable (Tranny problem ?? because i know that dodge's automatic transmission slip.) And if you don't have any problem with the tranny does it have any major problem that I should know because I may buy one. Thanks

  • @esfhemi06 The stock transmission on this truck went bad around 100k. It has an aftermarket heavy duty racing transmission now.

  • @edzgarage thanks a lot and other than the transmission is there any problem that the dodge has ? thanks again

  • @esfhemi06 If you get a diesel like ours, the trans is the only issue. The rest of the truck is good.

  • @edzgarage yes i think i will get one. thanks

  • is that cadmium plating or replica cad plating?

  • @86Ivar I'm sure it's all real from China lol

  • 2 fine mechanics your got there Ed. You forgetting how to do some of this stuff? lol

  • @Chooman69 Thanks Matt! I would sure like to forget it all and let them do it instead!

  • What goes out more the vaccume switch aka cad valve or the actuator

  • @biggdaddy2001 I don't really know. In our case it was the actuator.

  • is the transfer case always putting power to the front and rear axles? the actuator serves as an engagement?

I am useto the ol ford and willys where you have a stick in the cab.

  • @ShnitzlHaus No, the transfer case is engaged from inside the cab. The actuator is basically an automatic locking hub for the front tires.

  • @edzgarage ahh okay, thats what I was thinking but never been around the 4wd dodge to know :P good videa!

  • great job ed! how did you like them universal craftsmans

  • @jdrocks85 Thanks Buddy! They worked really well. I haven't had do anything really big with them yet.

  • @edzgarage thats good the cool thing about them they work on e torx

  • posi lok makes a manual cable drive system to replace the vacuum actuated system- nice unit-reliable and when your vac lines start to fail this is a good replacement

  • @patwregan That would be a great upgrade one day.

  • Great video as always Ed, Thanks...SMR

  • @TheSmreeder Thanks Buddy!

  • Looks like the smile from your son says it all. Nice job fellas!

  • @mrwiggles2 He's as happy as he can be. Thanks Buddy!

  • Nice! I just had to return a couple of faulty tools to Sears yesterday. I always have problems with those 1/4 inch drive ratchets. Yesterday one of the front tires went flat on my mothers car, and today i busted the fairing on my scooter. During the cold weather it really sucks.

  • @craig1974 Thanks Craig! Yep, I hate winter!

  • That cummins sounds so badass it's not even funny..

  • @IMATANK84 It is a bad truck! Thanks for watching!

  • I wished you lived near by, I could use a good mechanic.

  • @paperweightgirl What about Marcel??? LOL j/k

  • I see you managed not to chip up your camera lens from the gravel this time...haha...nice work.

  • @klc317 Yep, he missed me this time lol Thanks for watching!

  • You didn't get hit by rocks this time lol

  • @ShawnCFarm lol Nope, they missed me this time!

  • sweet rig gotta love a cummins with a stick behind it!

  • @69dodgechargerrt1 It would be even better with a stick!

  • Is that beast automatic or manual?

  • @dangerline95 Auto

  • Another great video :)

  • @OldTimeForties Thanks Buddy!

  • Beast of a truck

  • @dangerline95 It sure is!

  • can you adopt me?

  • @pretzel1253 lol I have three already!

  • Nice launch lol

  • @73Shakes Thanks for watching!

  • You know, I always enjoy your car repair videos but I never ask you to post more of them because that would mean something broke down. lol

  • @mallydangerous Well, I post almost every job we do in the garage. If I don't post, it's not broke lol

  • always nice to get the 4wd back when bad weather hits

  • @TheFred1952 Thanks Buddy!

  • @1968hambone Thanks HB!

  • Looking good guys

  • @gple87 Thanks Scott!

  • only the rear wheels are powered on my truck to, but it's a 2wd haha. Snow tires and 4 sand bags in the back and I'm still spinning everywhere in the snow lol.

  • @Gearheadtom I've always had 2w drive trucks. They suck in the snow and the mud lol

  • he almost got you again with that burn out :)

i thought that front wheel was gonna turn right at you . lol

  • @500passwords Yep, I thought I was going to get a dirt-snow pie in the face!

  • A pair of tiny 90degree pliers or a hook, the hook you get in most pick sets usaly dont work for these they are usaly too big but a smaller one does wonders on those clips!

  • @o7powerwagon Thanks Buddy!

  • awesome love the 4 wheel burn out LOL

  • @2LateIWon Thanks Buddy!

  • For the off road stuff we try to just put a straight axle in on that side and plate off the vacuum actuator. But sense this isn't a off road rock crawler my comment isn't helpful lol.

  • @tom58c Thanks Tom! I'll remember that if we ever make a rock crawler.

  • @edzgarage Not high on your list im sure lol.

  • The CAD system is junk! Good old manual locking hubs rock.

  • @OnusofStrife I agree!

  • Good vid. Ed, could you add me as one of your contacts, so I can send you a message. Got a couple of questions unrelated to the video to ask you. Thanks.

  • @b737drvr Thanks Buddy. You have been added.

  • Great job guys!

That tool set looks pretty nice Ed

Could you have used a hook to get that clip out? I hate those clips sometimes.

  • @mbyr31 We couldn't get under the clip with a hook. It was a real pain in the butt for sure. Thanks Matt!

  • As always nicely done.

  • @IHcubcadet Thanks Buddy!

  • Good to see the big Dodge back to normal... Now get some dirt on that new tool kit... no tool kit should be that clean! lol

  • @CDNBadass LOL I bet those tools get plenty dirty in the future. Thanks Jeff!
