While I do not advocate the kind of violence that was responsible for the life of our great Malcolm X, I do understand why the NOI felt it necessary that he be put to death. I don't agree with that reasoning but it was done. It's good that Farrahkhan admits that he may have played some role in it. Yet and still we must move from this situation and focus on the issues that are plaguing our communities and world. Malcolm was about the work and untimately believed that God could not be mocked.

I understand the validity of this topic from a Muslim perspective. Even more so as a student and idolizer of Malcolm and admirer of Farrakhan. I honestly believe Elijah Muhammad told his followers to leave Malcolm alone, and that certain brothers within the structure of the Nation acted independently of the organization to carry out this dreadful mission. I also grew up around quite a few brothas from the N.O.I, and influenced by my fathers side who taught me about Malcolm, my father also ultimately came to the realization that we can only save our selves. May history give us wisdom.
