  • Grandmaster Shouyu Liang is one of the most amazing people I have ever met. He is accomplished and is wise beyond, beyond. He is a deep, deep person, skilled, and awake on all levels.. I am forever grateful to have taken his classes! Sandra

  • One of the greatest alive. *bows*

  • this is completely useless when facing some one who are real sword player.

  • @taichicheng1 oh yeah? i tried krabi with tai chi "grandpa" and he still kicked my ass. Don't judge by outside slow movements, tai chi for combat is another thing :D

  • @taichicheng1 what the hell did you just say?player?if you are playing with a sword you are a power ranger.and i am not even talking yet of the gross underestimation and misunderstanding by most "modern" "fighting" types who don't understand the real Way.

  • I think for the practitioner it must be moving with the power--not *controlling* it.

  • He also killed 3 Chinese Revolutionists armed with AK-47's........with an umbrella. No joke.

  • are you serious come on?!

  • Wish i was joking but he actually did kill the three men that way. The man is really intense.

  • This is my teacher's teacher. I have had the privilege to actually meet Grandmaster Liang and the man is a great person.

  • So Wushu is Taiji and Taiji is Wushu?

  • yes it came from the same tradition

  • @AltarRS there are similarities, they are not the same thing. Wu-Shu translates martial art. Wushu as most know it is now all flash and no function. its for show alone. Master Liang was taught true kung fu and i believe later had a hand in the beginnings of Wushu and back then it still had...teeth martially shall we say. Now most dont teach wushu that way. I may be wrong about some things no hate please.

  • Lol...look at that empty stance at 1:56..hes not even leaning over

This guy is nuts, how old is he? 66? WTFH4X

  • He is 67 years old.

  • 66 years old?....he moves better than someone half his age. Very inspiring:)

  • OMG, it is brilliant!!! It's sublime!!

  • pretty cool for a 66y-o man! He knows his stuff I guess. Is this form a competition form or a traditional form?

  • Great!

  • Sorry, D -- I meant to click "thumbs-up" but accidentally hit the wrong one, and no way to take it back! I can't even click the other one now to make up for it. FYI, I studied with Shou-Yu for 9 months just after he arrived in the US, before he moved to Canada, and he really IS Great! --Melo in Seattle

  • Eunipsychle: yes somethime youtube has this kind of problems, even if you click "reply", youtube put you comment in other places!

  • Wow! Beautifully executed form with great martial intent in the movements. Definitely not 'Wooshoo'.

I am delighted to see an old man who clearly still 'has it'

  • He's 66? shoot I hope I'm doin that at 66.

  • Anyone know the name of the song playing?

  • If my math is correct, Grandmaster Liang is 66 years old in this video. Amazing! At least one of his teachers is over 100 years old, and still going strong!

  • He's 66? He doesn't even look it! WOW!

  • one of the great wushu masters of our time

  • If not THE Master.....
