  • is it really Tina? in English it's Terra, did they change it in the translation ?

  • Ume!! love it ^^ but i prefer the red ones... :>

  • indirect kissu

  • @MDIS That is an anime thing...

  • U live in Japan?

    man u lucky ..>,_<

  • Kazuma..!! He's so cute and sweet..!!!

  • FINAL FANTASYYYY :Q

  • kazuma is a cutie. =] more vid with him. u guys are cute together and funny.

  • @kukupuffs93 Thanx.

  • 結構大きいカリカリ梅だね。食べた~意。I wish we could buy it in the states.

  • YUM yum! They both look very interesting!

  • Plums right?

FF products are big in Japan right?

  • Ume are not actually plums, but they are sometimes called 'Japanese plums'. Ume-boshi are pickled ume fruits common in Japan. Ume (Prunus mume) is a species of fruit-bearing tree in the genus Prunus, which is often called a plum but is actually more closely related to the apricot. Umeboshi are a popular kind of tsukemono (pickles) and are extremely sour and salty. They are usually served as side dishes for rice or stuffed inside of rice balls (sometimes without removing seeds inside) .

  • Oh, and FF products are just novelty things that come out for short periods of time. I would not say they are particularly 'big' here, except amoung anime/manga fans.

  • @kansaiPJ

    Ah, now i know :D

    haha, thanks :)

  • I am on the same page as you as far as the anime and Mangas go. I have watched and liked some anime. I have also read a few manga. But I prefer the live action shows and films. I actually like a lot of the Japanese science fiction and fantasy.

  • FF Drinks. Jelly based. I have never had anything like that. Although I drink the pearl drinks in the local Vietnamese resturants. I think they have something similar. My wife may have had them before.

Glad the drink didn't make you feel wasted. lol =)

  • Kari Kari Ume is the best! im so addicted to them. Japanese friends say it gives you energy too... like it helps to wake you up... hmmmm.

  • looks like the japanese dude couldn't hold in the bong hit you guys took before the vid started.

    jk

I loved your review of the white cola. Sounds pretty good actually.

  • YO PJ did you know that in Japan most of ppl don't like when you share something that you put on mouth, because they call it INDIRECT KISS and they always make a racus aboouth it xD( you want to share and it is totally normal for you, but on his face I see a little bit of "omg! wtf...ok...O.o" but then again maybe is just my overreacting O.o'

At least I heard and saw that much, but maybe I get it wrong...

  • U are the 3rd/4th person to comment and/or email about that 'indirect kiss' thing. Where do u all get that? Manga or anime? Just curious. I don't think that is any more true here in Japan that it is elsewhere. Most people don't share food and drink any where, unless both r very close, right? That's the same in North America. It isn't at all 'totally normal' for me to share like that, except when I'm really close to that person. And when we filmed this, Kazuma and I were dating... ;-)

  • ahahahahaha I was just curios about that indirect kiss.

I heard it in anime and japanese dramas (big fan) hehehehehe

Well thank you for letting me know that all things with "indirect kiss" are fakes xD

  • No worries. And it is not really wrong so much as it is exaggerated...

  • Final Fantasy is my fav RPG game, but I would never drink that. I don't drink pop or sugar drinks in general.

  • PJ! You rock! Your super awesome for showing us those FF drinks - I would have so filled my beer fridge with them. You should play the game oneday it's known for their epic storylines and characters mostly.

If you find any Naruto neverages I hope you reveiw them too :D

  • where did you get that drinks PJ

    i need it lol

  • I found them at my local 7/11 store. They were there for a limited time only and now they are gone. Hehehe...

    Sorry.

  • swapping cans?! indirect kissu~!?

  • Thanks for watching, but 'Indirect kiss'? You are the 2nd or 3rd person to leave a comment about it. Where are you guys getting this stuff?

  • it's like a kiss, but indirectly!

  • LOL! I know what it means. Hehe. What I was asking is why people seem to think that in Japan, sharing a drink is considered indirect kissing...

  • oh. probably from anime, it's used kinda often

  • That's what I figured. Remember that anime and manga are very stylized and its conventions are not necessarily held in the larger culture. Still, it's kinda interesting.

  • i hope so. if i ever get to go to japan like i want to, i don't expect people to use mannerisms like in cartoons.

  • Quite right, though I've been told several times that my mannerisms are very cartoonish! ;-)

  • I was a little confused for a minute about final fantasy. I've never heard of it, it must be a Japanese thing.

    Anyway, the ume sounds interesting.

  • youve really never heard of it its a game and its amazing

  • This is a cool video!

I bought 4 of these FF sodas like a month ago when I saw them at a conbibi and freaked out. I'm a huge FF fanboy, so you know...

Anyway, I'm planning on doing a video on these too. I've been nervous about trying them, but a friend told me they taste a little like grape soda, so that's cool

  • They need gafgarion bevarge lol!

  • Gafgarion? Is that a character in Final Fantasy I presume?

    THanks for watching!

  • Hahaha no, :P he is just a pretty big character in final fantasy tatics for play station its the only one i could get into, but thanks for posting the video it was very enjoyable :)

  • is it like, jelly inside? (the fruit) cause then

ive tried it. And its really good. ^_^

  • These were jelly-flavoured, but the consistency was of carbonated juice. It was not bad at all...

  • umeboshi makes me cringe. How can he even eat it with a straight face haha.

  • I am with you. Umeboshi are just NOT for me either!

  • I think the white cans are a different flavor...

(plus I'm sure its in one of those comments... but they're limited edition drink for the video game)

  • IMO, the cosmos can tastes better than the Chaos one. The Black can (chaos) is Grape flavored. The white can (cosmos) is grapefruit flavor. All I can say is, the game is way better than the drink xD

  • You are a fountain of information Sho! Thanks.

  • its not as bad as my reaction indicates.

    LoL

  • ;-p

  • tnx really wanted to know this :D 5/5

  • :-)

  • Cool random reviews! It seemed like Kazuma had been somewhat pressganged into the whole thing, haha!

  • He was! LOL!

  • Two attractive guys testing products. <3

    5 stars~

  • :-)

  • oh pj san im sorry! i look like an idiot cause i spelt it wrong, i relised this morning after reading some manga. oh and i also relised that its only with members of the opposite sex with that whole indirect kissing thing. thanks for the reply!! its very interesting!!

  • Damn I want that Tidus can so badly.

  • I played finial fantasy lol...I use to be a heavy gamer, but not so much anymore

  • kazuma is so touchy-feely.. touch u on the shoulders a couple of times... lol u guys must be close.. or japanese people are like that? hehe final fantasy product rules! i buy anything with final fantasy on em haha

    thanks pj!

  • Hehehe. He and I are dating. That's why! Hehehe.

    Glad you enjoyed the video.

  • TWO THINGS~

    1. Shouldnt you say "Kanpei"? Or is he learning?

    2. And isnt drinking or eating someone elses food or drink indirect kissing in japan?

this omment sounds rude, but i swear im just learning!!

  • To answer your questions...

    1. You could say, "kanpai" (乾杯!) but people also use the English "Cheers". Also since I'm a native English speaker, and he is a Japanese speaker, code switching (using words of two or more languages) is common.

    2. 'indirect kissing'?!? Never heard that one... I don't think it is more or less true than in North America or elsewhere.

Hope I answered the questions adequately. Thanks for watching!

  • Yay for the special guest! :D

Heh, thanks for sharing PJ! I wonder if they will come out in the US?

  • Not sure if it will come to the US, though I kinda doubt it. There is nothing listed on their website about it, so...

  • That looks like one hell of a chaser for some jack daniels :P

  • Hey Sam! Good to hear from you. How have you been lately?

  • omfg, i hate computers, I just wrote a fuckin funny ass message and it deleted it -.-

I'm doing good, just staying black, and your yourself?

  • I love umeboshi! You are crazy PJ!!

  • I really enjoyed this one - I need to get some co-hosts! Yeah for Kazuma! :)

  • :-)

  • I've seen the Final Fantasy jelly juice in the supermarket, but have never had the desire to purchase it (too scared to see what might lurk inside the cans I suppose).

Interesting question posed: "Can jelly really make one genki?" I'm not sure...

  • I certainly felt no different the day after...

  • By Jelly do you mean little chewy chucks floating in the soda? If so, I might have to try one.

  • I tried it last week. It has a jelly taste, but no chunks. It is smooth. I like it.

  • I really enjoyed this video! Awesome~ Looking forward to more!

Kazuma is such a strong name.

  • I miss KariKari Ume!

When I was kid, I had it a lot.

    Have a good one!!

  • I can send you some...

  • Damn, I'd ship over a crate of that if I could. =/

  • oh I want to try some ume. [: How did you meet kazuma? He seems so genuinely sweet [:

  • Kazuma and I met on the internet... ;-)

He really is a nice guy.

  • aw that's great! [:

  • awsome !! a new vid

I wonder what those green things taste like O.o

    Great work!!! thanks Pj

  • This was awesome! You should bring your friend along for videos more often! XD

  • Thanks. I just might~!

  • I like the final fantasy potion drink too! Though I personally prefer the ones that they had out last year compared to this year.

  • Really? I am not sure I like either this year's or last year's...

  • PJ, I love these!

Seems like your Japanese has improved as well!

  • Haha, PJ this is your other job isn't it? food/drink critic ;).

  • Hey Nate. Yeah, it does seem like that lately!

    :-)

  • too cute

lol, jelly based, huh.... ill check them out, now that i can since i am in japan =DDDDD

  • They are in supermarkets and many convenience stores. Try 'em.

  • Thats pretty awesome. Can't wait for Dissida to come out in the States x_x

  • Thanks.
