  • THE WEEKEND STARTS HERE!

  • it´s really great for an expo, thank's very much =)

  • Dave Clark's crowning achievement.

  • How is it "Dave Clark's crowning achievement"??

  • He owns these tapes.

  • Well if he didn't have them someone else would. I've heard he's not a particularly pleasant character anyway.

  • But still, a bigger contribution than the DC5's music, which was the point I was trying to make.

  • i think you'll find he's dead as well ?

  • First I've heard of it.

  • yeah, i got it wrong, getting him mixed up with dave dee for some reason ! but i also heard clark was an unsavoury character as well...

  • "Be there or be square." Truer words were never spoken when (young) Brits came home from work on Friday nights.

  • Who else is watching Family Guy at this very moment? (the father, the son and the holy fonz)

  • do you have a vid of the who on this?

  • The program's slogan was "The Weekend Starts Here!", because the show was broadcast early on Friday evenings over Britain's ITV network ("Ready, Steady, Go!" was produced by Rediffusion-London, which at the time was the weekday ITV franchisee for the London area).

  • I'm surprised that "Ready, Steady, Go!" didn't air in the United States during the time it was in production.

After all, it originated from London, and most of the acts on the show were popular on both sides of the Atlantic.

Perhaps it was because "RSG" and British TV were still in black-and-white, while ABC, CBS, and NBC were rapidly converting to color broadcasting during the mid-1960's.

Hopefully, the entire series will soon be released on DVD in both the UK and the U.S.

  • As a matter of fact, Dave Clark Productions did release a limited number of performances from episodes of RSG on video in the mid-80's. I pray that somebody does the right thing before these treasures are gone forever.

  • Where and when is somebody going to do the right thing by puting all these out of sight preformances onto video and DVD?!

  • I agree. I vaguely remember that Dave Clarke from the DC5 had the rights to old RSG footage but could be wrong on that. There was the BBC series 'Sounds of the 60' which was a great compilation of RSG, TOTP, Beatclub and other old videos but that is not available on DVD sadly. Stil...cool to see Manfred's theme in context

  • Wow, I love this one..used to look forward to the prog every week too..brings back great memories

  • this was the highlight of the week back in the sixties.great prog great time to be a teenager.thanks for posting.manfreds still going strong.

  • ♥♫5♫4♫3♫2♫1♫♥

  • any1 here watch friday night project? it has this on it

  • I didnt know the Spice Girls song 12345 was a adaptation of this song. Wicked.

  • The Spice Girls version was used for launching Channel Five the UK TV Station

  • Yea, I know. I'm a spicer. I just didn't know that it was made out of an 'original version' of it.

  • Bring almost tears to my eyes

    ACE Song

  • Looking for the intro to RSG from the same period with The Who "My Generation" and some kids skateboarding. If you find it PLEASE lmk

  • have you found the rsg skateboard intro yet, if so please let me know....cheers.

  • i'd like to see some the who performances from ready steady go

  • WHERE ARE THEIR VIDEOS!

  • Mods rule forever.

  • I remember this show! This was THE start to the weekend. And it was not just another look-a-like, shindig, soul train whatever you want to call it show, it was THE show for teenagers at that time. So don`t knock it, it was the best - history in the making

  • Fab! I've never seen this before! Thanks!

  • a good reason for not bringing this show to the usa might be because at that time, we had a warehouse full of look-a-like shows. hullabaloo, shindig, soul train, american bandstand, action and any i may have forgotten. we probably couldnt stand one more! how many live, teen-boppin,' top 40 shows does one country need?

  • rainydaywoman, the squares back in '64 needed as many as they could get---

  • allrighty then!!

  • Speaking as a well-proportioned black man, this teenie truncated track by Manfred Mann is peppier than a peppy song that is only slightly less peppier than the aforementioned peppy song. 5 - 4 - 3 - 2 - 1

  • Anymore clips from READY STEADY GO on here I can't find any

  • wie geil ... ich bin mal wieder in einer düggelschen Stimmung (Vergangenheits-Denken)

  • Magnificent example of 60's cutout style animation promo's... Excellent!!!.

I tried so hard to find this intro all over the web and finally it's here!, great job.

  • Considering that many of the top British acts appeared on the program during a time when the "British Invasion" was in full force, it's a surprise that "Ready, Steady, Go!" wasn't imported by an American network. Maybe it's because "RSG" was in black-and-white (as were all live and taped shows on British TV then) at a time when ABC, CBS and NBC were rapidly converting to full-color broadcasting.

  • The Weekend Starts Here!
