Wow, I can totally relate to this! It's nice to know that what I feel, with the loneliness, inability to trust, and sorrow that it really isn't just happening to me, but other people and support from friends, teachers, etc is really the greatest thing whenever the dark or hard times reemerge in life. Anyway, the fact of the matter is it -does- work. Not the new music, for a lot of reasons. See, the reason the Pumpkins remain relevant today is because the music isn't dated. It has that sort of "timeless" quality, where it's hard to strictly say "This was just a lame '90s band". It's the type of music you'll still be hearing on the radio in 30 years.
