different events do different things jus cuz your use to one event doesn't mean that another sux it jus means your not accustomed to there style cuz its new or watever. besides redbull does alot for the hip hop community and you can't hate on tryin to innovate and bring things beyond wat they are thats part of wat hip hop is all about. also q bert fricken KILLED!!! i'm no dj i'm a bboy/popper but even a moron would know he's bad ass i think. and he's origionally from hawaii i'm pretty sure lol
It really wasn't a battle. It was more of a showcase. They did have a big projector in the background. This was done outdoors in a a huge parking lot that was fenced off. The video probably didn't do any justice but if you were there you could see the actions of all the DJ's sets. It's was a good showcase. Redbull & vodka was really cheap so everyone was wasted too!
@mysterymediacorp Well, they have a mirror there so you can see the vinyl & mixer.. and I think it's also projected on a big screen. I'm not sure what else you want them to do except maybe hang the DJ upside down over the crowd..?
@juggernaut33x Why can't they do what they're supposed to do and let the dj be seen in full like the DMC battles ? There's a reason @sirliambz left the comment "is it me or is this totally not cool". Likewise, there's a reason DMC is the most prestigious and longest running DJ battle...because for the most part, they get it !
@mysterymediacorp DMC fell off a LOOOONG time ago bro. DMC started off with what you see DJ Q-Bert doing on this video. Now everything is the same and toooo technical that only skratch NERDS will understand. The funky rhythms of cuttin and beat juggling is gone and now all u got is DJs gettin too technical which is cool but the average person will not understand.
The mirror thing is stupid. To tell you the truth, I thought Q had a keyboard in front of him. haha
@sirliambz Its you not knowing your history & not knowing what a real DJ does. If your a real DJ, you will appreciate what DJ Q-Bert has done to revolutionize the DJ world. Now if your a "DJ" & cant appreciate this, go turn on your iTunes, press your brightly colored buttons and fire up your DJ software application that does everything for you. Use 2 turntables, a mixer and a couple of records & lets see if you can mix, scratch or just plain DJ without having Mr.Macbook do everything.
