  • kills me that Joe has stuff like this and the idiots at Rolling Stone Magazine don't even have him in the top 100 greatest guitarists of all time. But have Kurt fucking Cobaine.....

  • the best ever

  • Joe Will Never be forgotten.

  • There are 7 demons on earth... GO TO YOUR LOVIN' HELL HATERS!

  • A killer masterpiece!! Satriani is simply one of the best guitar gods there is.

  • my favorite Joe track. just provokes so much emotion. have never had a big enough system to sound this out loud enough. and i run a pair of Celestion 44's.

  • The Forgotten part 2 is the biggest music of all times. The guitar is a magical instrument, if you need that magic to come out, you'll need Satriani. Ultimately there is one thing i have to say about this song and that is : If God spoke, it would affect my soul just like this.

  • @satrionic1 true!

  • Vin Diesel with guitar :D

  • rhythm session and sound is the same of the intro Don't Dream It's Over of Crowded House

  • It will be great if this song had a live version.

  • A killer and seductive ballad! Satriani rocked and still rocks! That's why Kirk Hammet from Metallica was his student in the earlier years.

  • The most beautiful rock instrumental I have ever heard.

  • One of the most incredible songs of our time, but so far there's 6 people who have FORGOTTEN their way in life!

  • @TheBestClassicRock must be at least 7, as i've lost my way in life too.

  • I like all all good music. I like Satch, I like Dream Theater. I like Guns n Roses. I like Michael Jackson, I even like rap (if it's good). I like classical music. I like Beethoven and Bach.

and all I can say is:

This is the best song written by all mankind.

Nothing else can make me WANT TO cry!

  • He is not human. He is fuckin' GOD! Rock on man. :D

  • Simply one of the best instrumental tracks ever recorded.

  • The end rhythm line reminds me of buckethead, sounds like it would be the beginning to one of his songs

  • hands down one of my favorite songs of all time, must learn this song!

  • I did a live cover to this. I think it's not bad. If your intrested check my channel and tell me what you think. Constructive criticisme is welcome.

  • One of my favourite songs by Joe. So much emotion in this song. I can't handle it. LOL If anyone finds a video of Joe playing the Forgotten Part 11, please forward it to me. I would greatly appreciate it. I love this song. Thanks for sharing. : )

  • Satch>Hendrix>Van Halen>Slash

  • @kierg100 Every guitarist in human existence is better than Slash. lol

  • Great Song, one of the best of satriani I think, on the other hand, he has so many great songs, hard to choose a favourite.

in any case: thanks so much for uploading this all time guitar classic!

(For any guitarplayer who's interested in playing it, I created a backing track for this song, just check the video. )

  • Musical erection!

  • damn good man....

  • out of this world

  • Joe Satriani know how to express himself with his instrument...so much beauty.

  • the direction he takes at 1:38 makes the hair on the back of my neck stand. the way it just explodes onto the sonic landscape.

  • unbelievible

  • wow

  • this song still tops my fav's it has soooo deep n sad feel to it that it brings me to tears i jus go thru all the sad moments of ma life in jus a few mins of this track ... it seems to come straight from his heart n soul n heals ours! ... i may never b able to tell u JOE how much i love u ... ur the greatest, my world revolves around u literally, wish u health n prosperity from the depth of my heart :)

  • i cry when i play dis.........I Am the Forgotten...my Andrea left me.....

  • does he ever play this live? cant find any footage of it

  • FYI joe was asked why he doesn't play this one much, if ever live. He said it put the mood of the audience soooo somber, it was hard to pull em back up..

    How about as a closer??

  • ..nice tune, just like all his others

  • I cannot put into words how i feel about you but this song damn is tearing me apart .... 30/3/07-7/10/09 ....

the best song ever written ...

Satch is leading far from all the guitarists :) GREAT composer and his technique is PERFECT !

  • Maybe, Satch is not the best in technics, but he's the greatest guitar comoser ever! So touching, his guitar just sings like a man... So sad thing :'(

    Bravo...

  • "Satch is not the best in technics" WTF!?

  • shiver!!!!!!

  • i hope some idiot just dont try to add lyrics to this track someday.

  • listen to Rush - Afterimage along with this track and it sounds oddly similar, especially the ending. They both came on by accident for me one time and i was amazed and shocked. I did some research and I found out that the Rush song came out in 1984, and Satriani's a few years latter. It almost seemed like Joe added the Satriani version of the lead guitar role for the Rush song.

  • @speed1205 you are crazy.

  • I still think this is one of his best! That solo just rips anything to shreds!

  • God, it sounds like the guitar is actually crying!

  • Satch plays the guitar with the deepest depts of his soul. Nobody, NOBODY can ever play the guitar with this much emotion.

  • no one can ever say anything about this man,s playing it's full of too much feeling, and when he plays live it's on fire and always sold out

  • Nice Feeling

  • I love this piece. Some say his play is skilled but soulless, but this proves that he can play with skill AND heart.

  • who said he plays soul less? wth...? lol everyone of his songs are so melodical and played from true feeling.

  • crazy

  • pure epicness

  • Joe did this shortly after his Father passed

  • I remember exactly where I was when I first heard this song (telling my friends afterwards I just had been listening to the greatest solo I ever heard)

15 years later it is still in my top 3

  • I heard this song somewhere in 1994...i had goose bumbs all over my body and still have them each time i hear this master piece!

Now i have all of his CD's and a few DVD's and i have seen him once playing live in Holland in June 2006.

Joe Satriani is number 1 in my top-10 list of all time favorite guitar players!

  • hands down, one of the most inspirational pieces of music. I truly believe you can hear his voice in this song. There is no other way to say what he is feeling towards his fathers death, this is EXACTLY what hes feeling

  • 1 to 5 maxx.. i GIEV A FRIGIN 10 its sooo GOD -LIKE

  • This is some god-like guitar playing. I've never heard anyone else who puts so much "feeling" into their guitar playing. satch is the man!!

  • sexy

  • My favorite Satriani song... Amazing.

  • haa shit! crazy Joe Satriani!

    best guitarist ever!

john petrucci is awesome too! and you guys can recommend me some solo guitar artists out there! no buckethead I already know him

  • Andy Timmons, Paul Gilbert, Cesar Huesca, Gustavo Guerra

  • I'd youtube them before stating such nonsense. Cesar and Gustavo are rising stars with original music, although they have a lot of covers here on youtube I own both of their solo albums and loving them. Andy and Paul have been around but relatively new to solo instrumentals. Andy is my 2nd favorite after Satch, I recommend his That Was Then This Is Now and Resolution albums. Paul has got a couple good solo albums too - Silence Followed By Deafening Roar. Check them out.

  • Paul Gilbert u like?

  • Y. Malmsteem / Michael Schenker

  • omg have never heard this song and im like pro satch fan lol such a good song it is so good

  • ..what comment can i make...please tell me...at 0:50... can you feel it..?? can you just close your eyes??..and open them when solo comes..and see.. what ever you really want to see..

  • The solo in this has to be one of the greatest of all time.....for sheer emotion

  • @Aussiephil99 in my opinion it is the greatest solo of all time. i would never cover it cause i wouldnt be able to convey that emotion the way satch did.

  • @Aussiephil99 I agree! also, if you don't listen to PanterA, check out anyway the solo for The Sleep (you don't need to hear the whole song, although it's great), Dimebag left one hell of a lesson right there.

  • @bojantomic88 you sir are correct. dimebag was fuckeing amazing. thats one of his best solos for sure! wish he were with us today!! could you imagine, g3 featuriong, satch, zakk, dime. wowsers!?!?!

  • @dimebag4ever426 lol sure dime is a legend his techik is amazing but comm on dime has wrote something with feeling(i dont say he couldnt just he never did it)

  • Joe olum senin ben halefiyetini lan! Süper!

  • First time I heard this, I knew I loved this song right away.

  • he is the best :)

  • my god......the passion........... how i wish iI could play or write something like this for the the girl of my dreams

  • Is that why he wrote this song?

  • EVen hendrix didn't have this emotion!!!

  • I think he did possibly, maybe just not as sick of a tone to express it

  • O mestre..

  • este es un temaso ...digno de hacer el amor con este tema...

  • Jajaja si le pones este tema a tu chica seguro rompe en llanto! jaja demasiado feeling!

  • he's amazing i love this song

  • The thing is, this song is even more exciting to play than listen.

The first time I managed to play it, I cried.

  • I envy you for that...

  • i envy u for that too :(

  • best.....guitarist....ever.

  • when guitar cry...

  • The first time i heard this song it made me cry:( It may have had something to do with the three 40mg oxys.i had just chewed up. But either way i'm havin it played at my funeral.

  • Doctrine of the affections my brother.

  • This is the lesson that Vai missed ..

  • or this is what you can never teach :)

  • respect indeed

  • this song or vai s for the love of god which is the ultimate beautiful shred ballad?

  • the best of the besttt

  • ONE OF BEST SATCH SONG EVER :)

  • He never plays this song during a concert. Did he sale the rights to this song years ago to a beer company in Canada? Seen it as a commercial for Labatts Blue. It was what got me hooked on Satch.

  • I hope he didn't sell it to a beer company. I remember hearing somewhere that the song was about the homeless, a.k.a. The Forgotten.

  • this song is soo god damn beautiful

  • beautiful song

  • theres only one satriani totally amazin,im luck enough to have been introduced to his music long time ago,and started wanting to play like him,and i did, oustanding his music touches you like no other guitar player.you feel every note,

  • totally agree, I was lucky enough to see this live in his Flying in a Blue Dream tour way back when (with Eric Johnson opening) and it totally floored me.

He's pretty much the reason I have been playing guitar for 20 years now. Such an inspiring musician, I love it.

  • it's really fantastic

  • fuck i love him and i dont find any word, i dont have any word to describe him

  • Joe Satriani deserves to be hailed in the same way as Mozart, Grieg, Da Vinci, Jesus and more.

This man is a legend of Gods, something this musicpiece, on a high level proves! Just as almost every song he writes is a piece of inhuman art. Thank You Joe <3

  • WOW! fucking awesome,I like the echoes at the end of each riff, it touches.

  • wow I don't understand why this song isn't very famous... this solo is divine
