sounds good. you should use faster notes to vary it up a bit. maybe 32nd note scales, since the song is pretty slow. also experiment more in your upper range. like what you did to a great song and band.

No offense, but I think you have to practice your sax skills. I mean, the notes are right, but the sound that comes out could be much better (in my opinion). I play clarinet and I'm still working on the sound quality =P

Time & an assortment of expensive mouthpieces can help target the sound quality for the style of music, but the biggest improvement would come from the mic & the mixing. He isn't exactly playing in a soundproof recording studio or using pro audio mixers or orchestrating reverb effects. His sound quality is there. The recording isn't.

I have a basic chord structure which I follow but play this song different each time, and do so without the use of sheet music or extensive rehearsel. This is the way most of the musical greats 'improv', it's very different than say comedy improv
