@jef934 When I made this video I wasn't aware that there is a picture of her sinking. I sailor on HMS Dorsetshire took it. She might appear in a possible sequel.
No mention of the only German capital ship to survive the war? Prinz Eugen. (Subsequently damaged in the Bikini Atoll atomic bomb test, and sank after being towed away and then flooding). Gneisenau was not destroyed in combat either, it was scuttled as a blockship to close the harbour. (It's main guns had already been removed to create shore batteries which still exist today).
I apologize for the typo. Fix YOUR superimposed text. You are covering what is most important, the ship that is sinking. Put the text over the sky or the water or the beach.
@elevenCubed Once posted the video file can't be changed. The only way would be to delete this video and redo it from the scratch. And honestly, I won't do so.
I would like to thank all the warlords and weak ,corrupt government minds for building such ships of beauty. They are engineering masterpieces and rulers of the sea.
@Warkillerism She was too much damaged. The explosion of her ammunition tore Arizona's hull literally apart while California needed a few holes to be jammed.
@Warkillerism simple, the arizona had a broken back! pretty hard to refloat something that is split in two. The california just had torpedo damage to the hull that sunk her and was pumped out and refloated
The USS California, equipped with Fire Control Radars and Better guns, destroyed Several Japanese ships at Guam, Palau, and Leyte Gulf. She delivered the US Occupation troops to Honshu in Japan. When the Japanese saw the Pearl Harbor battleships (except the Arizona) pull into Tokyo Harbor, their hearts must have sunk more than the California ever did.
The RM Roma was a great battleship and would most likely not have been sunk if the allies provided the aircover they promised the italians to protect their fleet sailing to internment. if that was the case than my great uncle would still be alive today.
@darthreven9999 Indeed a shame they didn't provide the necessary aircover but war is always a sum of omissions and mistakes while ifs and would are a pointless occupation.
Great collection of images but no mention of HMS Hood,Bismarck, Sharnhorst, USS Princeton, Bunker Hill, Yamato. What about modern losses?? The Belgrano, HMS Sheffield,HMS Ardent and Antelope? All of which have recorded images of their death throes on record.
Uncle's ship was strafed off Saipan at night, his best friend caught a round. After the attack he was ordered to "Bag him up", he didn't want to do it but if he didn't he was courtmarshaled.
He bagged up the big pieces and washed the rest of his friend over the side with a fire hose.

@ShortCardinalsFan262 That is very true being that a few warships either deserve tobe museum or sunk gracefully where they fought like USS Enterprise CV-6 and HMS Warspite
