these boys aren't poor there was a guy who played drums outside of skydome a few years ago in toronto before leaf games. He made over 300 000 a year. Im sure these boys do ok.
And then you see a pussy little rich kid that has a good daddy get a huge ass scholarship... its sad that real talent isnt recognized most of the time
@willi2209 Some people get scholarships trough connections.... people like these boys could play drums for example... as you can see they probably dont have the financial capabilities to do that... with proper education and money they could achieve alot..
seen these kids at half time of a cavs game the most amazing half time show i have ever seen period and i have seen them all i have had season tickets the past 5 years
there used to be a guy playing drums outside rogers centre in toronto ...aparently he made 385 grand that year. Just cause they are street performers doesnt mean they are poor im sure these guys each make 50 grand a year doin this.
I flew into Chicago a couple of weeks ago and I was trying to sleep downtown from our trip and these motherfuckers were outside beating on these bucket...my husband wanted to go outside and kick their ass, but in their defense it was like 6pm
I saw these guys at a Warrior game last year and they played like this for 10 minutes. It was some of the tightest $hit I've heard before.. I hope they come back..
Is there an original group of guys called the Bucket Boys? Most of the videos seem to show different guys. I'm from Detroit and I was in Chicago recently and the ones I saw were different too.
The bucket boys are off the chain. They were in memphis at the holy day of antonement for farrakhan. These brothers have mad skills.Especially the 4 year old
I saw them after a cubs game two years ago... they need to start producing some new beats because they play the same rhythms over and over and over. they can do much better as far as routine goes.
These guys are all over here in chicago. These guys are good, but there are some groups of guys that are even better than these guys. I also assure you most of these guys are not in a drum line. I have talked to some of them. Most don't even go to school anymore. This is there way to make their living.
holy crap i was in the southside of Chicago at the train station and i saw these guys (not playing just caring there buckets) and i started talking to one of them and they said there pretty famous around Chicago and i didnt believe him lol guess i was wrong
Firstly in Cincinnati we started this and way better ,,, the guy is focusing more on show than the actual music.. we've been on Apollo and everything therefore after... Where Are They?? Youtube.. @mooshimashiroom
They make you feel so hip and urban as you watch them beat on buckets on a downtown sidewalk.
BUT LISTEN UP TOURISTS AND NORTHSIDE SHEEPLE!!!
The boys beating on the buckets downtown are nothing less than criminals. While you stand there ADORING the little savages, the talented (and usually older among them), walk/stand among the watchers removing wallets from purses and pockets. It's a great scam. You toss them singles and coins and their friends take your wifes/friends/others wallets.
I've seen them get arrested, too. I've given them a heads up a time or two that the cops were coming. They are really talented...and if it gives them something to do rather than hang out in the ghetto...
i dont like these kids anymore. they used to be humble back in the days, but now they all have attitude problems. plus, they are EXTREMELY ANNOYING when they do that in front of your office.
you wouldnt believe how much money you can make from street performing if you rotate your location. easilly $500 a day if your really really good like these guys.
I hope someone out there got footage of what happened last Fri Nov 21st 2008 at the Target Center, when these BUCKET KIDS were greeted by Rick and Andy Ausland from Minneapolis-based "BUCKETS AND TAP SHOES".
They call themselves the Chicago Bucket Boys, but the footage will also show that they were wearing MN T-Wolves shirts. Hmmmm..?
"Buckets and Tap Shoes" sent them home to Chi-town with a spanking, and I think they stole one of our tambourines for a souvenir. Please post if you shot video.
This reminds me. Years and years ago some news magazine show featured a kid who did bucket drumming and won a scholarship to Juillard. He was featured in the background of some movie, too.
He used his foot to lift the bucket up and down as he played; it acted as a bass drum sound. Had never seen anything like it.
Anyone heard anything about him? I think he was from Chicago, too, but I'm not positive.

ya i saw these guys this thanksgiving. there really good but they refuse to get a street artist license and thats why the cops keep chasin em out of places like Wrigley
do you know why they don't want to get it? i was looking up "street artist license" on google but couldn't seem to find any real description of the policies involved with it. just curious.
I saw these guys recently after a CUBBIES game. Awesome! They put on a great post game show right outside of the park with a few extra guys. I think there were 8 at the time. Too many Old Styles! About 3 minutes into the show they were broken up by security. They weren't hurting anyone or anything. They were just getting a few extra bucks entertaining a group of people. Just enjoy the show. If you ever get the chance to see them make sure you drop a few $ in their bucket!
They're flippin' great! What they're playing is fairly complicated and then there's the fact that they've slotted in some pretty awesome visuals as well!
Seriously, I've seen these guys play and I was convinced it was just a group of really well-synched robots. How the hell they stay on time is so beyond me, but its awesome to watch. Its all part of the Wrigleyville experience.
