I have the original 45 record and will never part with it, loved this song, I got to see them sing this last October in Pittsburgh, a great part of the show. Love you Duprees, Carol from Turtle Creek
@dupreesfan223 If you look, you will see that the first upload was off my 45 copy, but I had some mild complaints that the audio quality wasn't very good, (what do you expect from a 45??) So the latest upload is off CD. Happy you enjoyed...and thank you for your comment.
@SandyAbate Nat didn't do much doo wop!!..so don't have too much of his music, but some. One of the commentors on this song was disappointed with the sound quality of it, can't blame him, it's off an old 45, not much quality to start with, but soon I will post a copy off CD, should be better...and thank you for your comment.
By the way , Philly, I was going to post this song for you off CD, but haven't found it yet. I was sure I had it. I found all the others by them. I'll keep looking.
The Duprees are timeless- they will always be. You always heard all thier songs on Wibbage in Philly back in the day, even if they were'nt big nationally.
Deno859, I don't know if you lived in that era or not, but I did, and all I'm trying to say is at that time when The Duprees came on the scene with, "You Belong To Me" it was a good song, but nothing outstanding at the time, (it had been recorded by many others) BUT, as the years have gone by, I know of no other group that has grown to be loved more than The Duprees...Thank you for your comments.
Thanks for the return comment. i did grow up in that era. Maybe because they were from jersey, I really liked their songs. Local , tri state hits followed "You Belong to Me". I also agree, they absolutely got better with age.
With all due repect. This group NEVER copied the sound of any other vocal group. No booming doo wop bass, or fancy falsettos. Just ingenious vocal arrangements that still stand the test of tome. Thier songs are not "dated". They flat out put every other group around in second place.
This really is my favorite Duprees song...yes. Even more than You Belong To Me...sounds like you are sourcing this
from a more lowish-fi source like vinyl record compounded with ceramic needle pick-up arm. Try to get the CD this is on
and come back with that, if you can. Still, I'm only docking 1 star from 5 for audio-fidelity reasons, becaue this is 5-star writing, arranging and singing otherwise.
With all due respect, you are correct it is off a 45 RPM, but not ceramic...because 45's are the media I'm working in at the moment. I, like many others have thousands of songs on every type of media. When I get to it, I will post "your" favorite of The Duprees off CD. Thanks for commenting.
My wife's favorite - thank you for posting.

Easily my favorite Duprees song - even better than the 1955 Nat Cole version, and that's saying something.

How many different lead singers did the Duprees have? I have never researched this before...thank you for commenting.

This one is the second on my list from The Duprees. #1 will be always "My Love My Love"

Thanx for posting this tune--one of my favorites. Had big fun using the Duprees, 'SEPTEMBER' in
a political satire YouTube piece back in '07 (I've posted it here as a video response), DM
