  • I'm from Sweden, and I wonder if anybody know if Astrid and Ingrid are soppouse to play swedish?? They both have swedish names and lastnames, and I think they once mentioned something about the Vikings?

Just curious, love the movie btw!

  • @daskillingmoon In the novel, it is never outright said what their origin is, but Ingrid mentions multiple times that they are Danish and Swedish and hail from the Vikings

  • i have read the book..i'm lucky

  • i have seen this movie so many times, it's beautiful

  • im watching this because I just watched sharing the secret.....i freakin love this girl

  • So glad Thomas Newman did the soundtrack....... It's so great.

  • @humpaloompa he's a genious :)

  • yes they leave out a lot in the movie but that was to help with the flow in the story while keeping it a reasonable movie time...i love the book and have nothing against the movie.

  • She plays Katie in Flicka :D

  • lol readin the book! so far lovin it! :D

  • @VagabonTribe yeah, but the books are almost always better ;)

  • THANK YOU , life saver for my book project... haha i'd rather watch than read

  • @jasmineroxmysox365 oh my goodness. Please read it! it is one of the best books i've ever read. Definatley one that is worse as a movie.

  • @munchkinn02 haha oh I assure you I will! It's great so far! just might not be able to finish it before my project is due

  • @jasmineroxmysox365 The book is a lot different though.. they leave out quite a lot in the movie. I would for sure recommend the book, it was amazing.

  • One of my favorite movies EVER!!! Thanks for the upload!!! :)

  • Astrid is so beautiful. I love this movie. It's so sad, I love to watch scenes and listen to music from it. It makes me feel special :)

  • Great music, great performances, great movie all-around. I keep watching it over and over, it reminds me of so many of my students. It's sad but rooted in oh so much truth. Families are in so much trouble now, and it's always the poor, innocent kids that pay the freight for it all... = (

  • that lady is nuts. what if she accidentally falls.

  • Is it opening piano song an actual song? If so does anyone know what song it is?

  • @TheCrazyAwesome2 It is actually from the Original Movie Score by wonderful Thomas Newman, who is famous for his piano scores, American Beauty, The Horse Whisperer, Road to Perdition, Finding Nemo, Joe Black, for example. His scores are just amazing, just look for it :-)

  • very underrated!

  • the movie is so good and the book too.

  • I love this fucking movie and book!

  • such fantastic acting and great film and book i have never seen a drama film better than this

  • The book is so much more intense then the movie

  • Did they seriously change Ingrid from a poet to a photographer?? FAIL.

  • AMAZING movie

  • i love this movie, thanks

  • I think the mom in the book is much rougher then the mom in the movie :o

  • "a gaylord films company"??? really??!?

  • @trishdadish82 i was scared just watching them sit on it

  • When was this filmed?

  • @winstonlin143 2002

  • @fireyulia Which month?

  • @winstonlin143 I don't know when it was filmed, but it was released on October 11, 2002.

  • good movie.

  • @LittleMissClumbzie you're pretty you should be my GF lol

  • @SoCalxHeartbreaker ummm yeah, i don't know what that means, don't bother telling me.

  • @LittleMissClumbzie sorry babydoll that was inapropriate lol you are prettier than Astrid

  • @LittleMissClumbzie you're good, never mind those negative comments, thier just numb heads that i have to own lol i need a comment by a beautiful girl like you

  • @LittleMissClumbzie oh you mean OC

  • Michelle should have won an Oscar for this movie. Shes always been snubbed.

  • YES YES YES thank you for posting.

  • where do i know her from???

that daughter..... i m sure i know here

  • @joetoeb15 Matchstick Men, Drag Me to Hell, Big Fish......any of these ring a bell? :)

  • @joetoeb15 she plays in a movie a bulimic girl, its on youtube aswell . sharing the secret

  • @joetoeb15 Also she was in "Flicka"

  • This movie provides a realistic and deeper insight into human relationships and our psyche... It's a very good film. Michelle Pfeiffer is over 50 and still looks so young. I wonder why she isn't in more movies... And she played well - her parts weren't that easy to play.

  • please keep these movies here. dont switch channels.

  • the book is amazing. It changed my life. Mad me thankful that I have a mother who is always there for me.

  • @urtwilightbuddy11 i agree

  • This movie has a special place in my heart....

  • I love this movie.. makes me cry

  • does anyone know, was the actor who plays the main character (the young girl) wearing a wig for this movie? or did she actually have her hair bleached?

  • @joshhmarryme As far as I know she was wearing a wig because she had her chopped off for a previous role.

  • @portisalpha awe damn and i bleached my hair her colour yesterday :P

  • @joshhmarryme Yes she is. Her role before this was a cancer patient so she didn't have any hair, she had to wear wigs.

  • I love the piano music throughout the movie

  • @MsRayofsun it is thomas newman. he is great

  • @MsRayofsun Indeed! Film score produced by Thomas Newman, who produced the score for "Revolutionary Road"

  • @MsRayofsun I do too.

  • @MsRayofsun Thomas Newman (composer for the movie) is a genius!! He perfectly captured that southern california feel while adding depth to the story.

  • @portisalpha oh thankyou I downloaded the whole album onto my Ipod i listen to it all the time it is beautiful and brilliant.

  • saw the movie.. going to read the book now

  • @Nataliaa13B The book is sooooo AWESOME!!!!

  • @moovqt07 : D Im honestly really excited! i love to read and especially a story like this... must say tho, the mother reminds me of myself.. the way i think. never know whats around the corner in life, its best to always be prepared or everything, good or evil.

  • @Nataliaa13B Yes I read it 3 times when I checked it out from my College Library! The book has so many layers that the movie couldn't show. I also love reading as well as writing and I analyzed this book just for the fun of it! The only thing I don't like about the book is that the writer clearly has a strong dislike of "Aquarians"! I happen to be aquarius and in the book the mom is. If you read it, you'll see what I mean, LOL!

  • @moovqt07 humm, thats interesting that the author dislikes Aquarians.. i wonder what the "mother" in is story meant to the writer?? very interesting. i wish that the story focused a little more on the mother, her life line and all... hope ill find it in the book..

  • Is this the girl on "Drag me To Hell"?

  • the movie is awsome, but the book was better!

  • Great Movie, thankyou for posting

  • I love those movies when I see names together like Michelle Pfeiffer, Renee Zellweger, Noah Wyle...before they wouldn't even consider rolls like that.

  • the book is amazing. Everyone who loves this movie should read it...

  • @ThamesStreethooker I agree. I've read the book so many times and I never get sick of it. I love Astrid's character.

  • @ThamesStreethooker I agree. I absolutely hate reading with a passion, but after seeing all the comments I decided to look for the book on e-bay and got it for 3 bucks (shipping included). I got it in the mail today and I can't put it down! In a day, and like I said, I hate reading, I read over a hundred pages. Best book I have ever read.

  • @ThamesStreethooker three seconds ago i finished the book

  • @ThamesStreethooker the book is sooooooooooooo much better..........

  • @ThamesStreethooker I've read the book by audio tape it was awesome

  • @ThamesStreethooker you are 100% right!

  • im doing her monolauge from the beginning for my drama class. its beautiful

  • @ampedpumpedstokedout they play it every once in awhile on HBO & Cinemax :)

  • @letsseewhaticanbring yeah i don't have those channels. but thanks for heads up!

  • in the book ingrid doesn't seem like such a loving mother as she does in the movie. michelle pfieffer did a great job though.

  • I used to watch this movie with my mom...now she's in jail for taking me :(

This movie reminds me of her and it reminds me that no matter what people think I should feel I still miss her...a lot

  • @SuperModel969 I'm really sorry to hear about your mother, but what do you mean she's in jail for taking you?

  • the casting is impeccable....however, claire is very different from the claire in the book....and a lot of characters were left out....but over all the movie is excellent! very beautiful just like the book! <3

  • Janet Fitch's book was a lot better, but this movie was really good. I love the casting choices.

  • The books are always better, but they was a great effort and Michelle should've been nominated. They actually softened Ingrid up some for the movie, because in the book she was REALLY a cold piece of work!

  • the book is way better :) but good movie :D (:

  • Great movie! Thank you!

  • barry is gross. he's just wrong.

  • : OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  • they should really check out these people who foster kids,,they sure dont do a good job,,all the lousey homes they give kids,,

  • poor Astrid, i know what it feels when the christians try to brain wash you with the jesus stuff. i hope as the movie goes by she finds out life is not a fairy tale with a heaven and a hell in afterlife but in here , both are in what we know and in what : we are :humans ,mortals and we do wrong and right , but thats why we have our own brains to think for oursevels is better to make a mistake that you chose than something that seems "right " that someone else chooses for you.
