The first song was composed by Eric Persing !! and maybe the 7th !!!
Persing is the founder of Spectrasonics, a company specializing in developing World Class software 'virtual instruments' since 1994.
In addition to being the Creative Director of Spectrasonics, Eric was a longtime consultant and the Chief Sound Designer for Roland Corporation Japan from 1984-2005, creating the key sounds for many popular Roland synthesizers, samplers, CD-ROMs, expansion boards, processors and groove devices
OMG. I haven't heard this demo in years. I traded my D-10 for a Roland alpha juno 1. At the time, I already had Korg O1/Wfd, MIRex, Poly-800 & a Roland W-30. I wanted another "synth" as opposed to a sampled keyboard. I thought it was a good trade. I was happy with it.
@mrrusty1965 I don't quite understand your question. I want to get rid of it because I don't need it anymore and it's not really a worthy peace. I'd sell it for 100 USD. It weighs about 18 pounds or so...But you know I'm from Swizterland and as a US citican you would have to pay shipping costs and of course it runs on 220 Volts. So you would need an adapter...
I'd like to find one of these units as I just got my hands on a huge roland sound library disc set that lists the s9, s10 and 015 being compatible with the format...maybe someone knows other roland models these might work on?
@rinarinarina70 Why do you want to get rid of it? I have a seller in NYC getting rid of his for $200 along with gig bag and stand. It sounds decent for a portable gigging keyboard. How much does it weigh?
@OpusMagister Have to agree warm pad fades is by far the best preset sound on this synth. Worth keeping for this alone. Also liked some of the woodwind sounds.
I got a beat-up D-10 last summer and I can't seem to get it out of Split Mode. I get 2 different patches on it at once and it's very frustrating. I love the keyboard action and the basses are super. I have a Korg M1 and I reckon the D-10 is meaner! I downloaded the user manual and reset it to 'out of the box' but still can't unsplit the keyboard. Please Help! If you can. Your demo sounds great by the way!
@vjeri Thanks for the info, I'm really wanting to get a synthesizer right now. this was one option. If you've ever heard of Pendulum, that's the kind of sound im talking about, something fast rock electro, if u know what i mean. Something good for a band
@xxLIRIMxxx It depends on how creative and skilled you are creating sounds. The D 10 is very digital, is lovely but does not have patchs created for the 90's or 2000's music. I believe it does not have resonant filter or LFO but much of the dance music can be created with a D 10. The D 10 does not have that much poliphony neither, I believe is 8 notes only.
bloody hell , iv got one of these in my loft , it must have been there for about 8 years , i might go and have a look for it now i forgot all about it
oh and another thing..the one at the pawn shop looks just like this it say d-10 but it has an alpha dail in top left corner..weird huh and i cant find that version on the vintage synth explorer website..
@lvrsnvy A D 50 or Kawai K1 that came at same time as the D 10. I wanted to buy a D 10 as a kid but the K1 was cheaper and very good as well, but today I see the D 10 was cleaner.
....theres one at a pawn shop that im looking at but when i turn it on all it says on the screen is [ready] and nothing eles works...is that an easy fix or should i look elswhere?
Ah yes yes! I remember listening to this in the store. I bought it because I loved the rich sounds, although I felt some timing issues when all 8 parts kicked in during the big band song, I think the last one. Cost me $1250 back then...now it sells for $75. Guess instruments and investments are polars.
@jpberman listen this might not work, but try it. Go to EDIT, then use the VALUE buttons, you have to be in Either Multi Timbral or Performance. Try it,
The green leds are a bit unusual for me, because I had a D-10 with all the leds blue (except for the bi-coloured in the start button), I sold it a year ago and I regret it so much :((
This video brings me back some memories from this great piece of synth.
I had this keyboard in 1995, this was a top of the line instrument back then in Eastern Europe. I played many concerts and weddings with this keyboard in Europe. Finally when I moved to US I brought it with me, and still to this day I have it, but I retired the poor fellow, now he is just resting on the shelf, but sometimes I still play on it for good old times..:))

Just got a D10 from a guy for $80
He had it stored away for about 15 years.
It's in near mint condition and everything works like new on it.
