You fucking idiots it wasn't caused by Michael Waltrip it was caused by the 2 Car piece of shit Tango. Blame the 2 car draft shit. Not Michael, not Reutimann.
This is why people tailgate. "hey. it looks cool on television." this is also why there are like the 100-car pile ups. cuz people can't fucking drive.
@wklpincincy Not really, 'cause even with the significant improvement of the saftey of the cars, it should always be in someone's mind that the drivers who get involved could get hurt. Maybe not say like they guys who get a light hit, but more so say Dale Jr. later on in that race, or better yet, Travis Kvapil today! Those are the harder crashes you have to look out for, even though both of them were okay.
@epicfail2929 Dale Jr was still in it to win. I was at this Daytona race and the entire crowd cheered everytime Dale Jr took the lead. Too many yellow flags, over all a very disappointing, unexciting race.
I like Michael Waltrip and I think he's a good guy. I'm glad he won the truck race. Even though I was happy with him then, not this race. First he wrecks Kyle then goes out and wrecks 40% of the field.
I'm just glad the COT and the added throttle/brake response in the COT plate package allows a lot of guys to slow down and let it all come up before coming back down. Fox said half the field was in the crash, but really it was more like half the field was around the crash. Had this been 10 years ago, 3/4 of the field would have been piled up on the apron. Today you can actually use more conventional methods to avoid a crash in a plate race - slowing and waiting for the wreck to finish.
@zukiter Indy also races in circles so it's just as boring! I do like INDYCAR athough I like NASCAR more. It's in more decline than NASCAR! It is Crap, now. All american racing is in decline andthese arn't sports they are motorsports, there is a difference!
@john2johnify since 2005 he has basically been a nonfactor. i was honestly hoping he would win just because of how bad his finishes and what not have been since 05\06 or sometime around then. now 10 years ago he was a great driver but in after he left joe gibbs he has struggled.
@jraydaboss624 it goes both ways on a high banked race track. If a car spins low, it's going to come up. If a car spins high, it's going to come down. They all end up at the bottom in the end. In this case though I'm not sure what he was trying to get at. Yeah going high would have been best because the wreck started high so most of the wreck was going to happen in the low line.
@erasetoimprove i totally agree now watching the video again i get what he is saying because that 31 degrees of banking but to change the subject d.w cant blame micheal for doing anything wrong he wrecked 17 cars
@jraydaboss624 i meant why say "what goes down must come up" immediately followed by "you usually want to go high if you can" lol that part didn't make sense to me when he said it.
I blame Waltrip. But I guess u need a moron to make it interesting. Waltrip should just stick to owning the cars not racing them has he even finished a race in the last 5 yrs
@cookieacdc24 It's not usually that bad, however due to the repaved surface the drivers had to work harder to get better draft, meaning they wanted to get through the field and break away quicker, which lead to this type of crazy racing
ruined the race when this happened. all the people that i wanted to have win were caught in this wreck except bayne and all the bad drivers ( BOBBY LABONTE!)
I agree with Whocanresist2. unrestrict them. Like back in the late 60's early 70's when mopar ran the hemi and came out with a winged daytona and dominated nascar with richard petty and baker. It was not only insane horsepower but a manufacture designing aerodynamics to help win races. If you can't beat them, outlaw them .. Mopar ;)
NASCAR is such a freaking joke now even more than ever. Level playing-field by making ALL the cars the same? What the hell is the point of that? Make them all use same safety equipment sure, but pull the restrictor plates off and let them set up car ANY WAY THEY WANT. THAT is what racing is all about, finding the edge. Like money is an issue for ANY team anymore? Niggah please.....
They should have renamed this years race the "Crash Derby." Just a few mil $ in this one alone. This takes "rubbing is racing" to a new level. Bummer.
@erasetoimprove no it truely is the ONLY good part. oh, besides watching them continuously make left turns...thats exciting. id rather watch something more exciting like football or basketball. your the idiot wondering what theyre gonna do next after each left turn...im gonna guess another left turn
@BigLatrell86 If the tracks weren't ovals, they would have to be like 500 miles long. It's not about where they're going, it's how they get there, racing close, bumping and rubbing, THAT'S why we watch it.
@BigLatrell86 Or maybe crash? Have ya thought of that? It looks easy, but let's face it, they were doing well over 190 mph, hell they exceeded 200 mph! You're trying to tell people that's easy and not exciting? You should've seen the race today. Jeff Gordon winning after 66 races of frustration!
@nascarfanatic2425 i never said it was easy. i understand how difficult it must be driving that fast that close to other cars. its just watching them do 200 laps can get pretty boring. ill also include the final few laps are exciting ONLY if there is a close race
@BigLatrell86 Or if the leader runs out of gas, or blows a tire or an engine. lol Then it's like a wake-up call, 'cause then you're like, "HOLY SHIT!!! WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO HIM?!!!" I know it rarely happens, but still, I qualify that as a good race. I also like seeing somebody do the bump-n-run. Not just at Bristol, but that should be a common technique used at EVERY track, even Daytona and Talladega, in my opinion.
I cant wait for 2012!!! Dale Jr is gonna be winless for 5 YEARS!!!!! XD

What goes down must come up? Is this in relation to inertia, or did he just screw up?
dehdesh 3 months ago
@dehdesh It's banked oval track racing theory, when someone spins at the bottom of the track, they will generally go to the top of the track.

@Tankmywank so it's just a force redirection reference, and rarely has anything to do with inertia.
