You're right...but its not the goals of the drug companies to make cheaper drugs...thats why they fight so hard to extend their patents past the time that other manufacturers can begin to make the same generic drug. They are overcharging consumers to no end. Companies like Walmart have a mandate for lower prices...they use their purchasing leverage to get lower prices for their customers...the same way our own government should be doing...but the lobbyists make sure it doesn't happen that way.
