This is a man in a light coloured suit. That does not mean it is white. It could be light blue or grey. The Austrian painter, Gustav Klimt, was also at the Expo and HE wore white suits, too. They weren't unique. Yes, everyone "feels" and "hopes" this is the Great Man, himself. But. The quality of the image makes identification impossible - and imagination inevitable. There are blurry useless videos of UFOs on YouTube called "best proof ever." It "MIGHT be him" does mean we should decide it is.
@TheStockwell thanks, I respect every point of view, it may be him or maybe not, I took it as an idea, not real proof. The point that he really visited this Paris Expo, that he was unusually tall and often wearing light suits and walking cane, was a starting idea that may catch interest of some people to investigate further about this video.
@doloreshaze1935 What troubles me is seeing people's hopes being fanned because of a vague few frames of a white suit. From that, imagination kicks in. People recognise the familiar gait of The Blurry Man/Oscar Wilde - even thought it's only by description and in spite of this film having been slowed down. Mark Twain wore white suits, too. I've seen the YouTube video this clip was lifted from. It's a little clearer and the man appears slimmer than Wilde. And so it goes . . .
i came across oscar wilde while browsing on the listverse website,he intrigues me and same as you im looking for a video of him in action, thanks for the video post
Oh...I can't say something exactly, but when I watched it, and through about that it's probably Oscar...I can't describe my feelings, if it's really him (it's can be him and not him with the same possibiities), it's wonderfull...))
This might very well be Oscar Wilde in Paris. He was in fact just six foot tall (according to his official measurement on being admitted to prison) -- see H. Montgomery Hyde, "The Afermath" pg 4,-- and he had a particular way of walking which Robert Ross refered to as his "odd elephantine gait". The man in this film is tall, though not exceptionally so, and he certainly seems to have this rather strange way of walking. I think it is very possibly Oscar Wilde.
@doloreshaze1935 I doubt there is enough information in the film itself for a scholar to settle the matter. At least not without some further clues. As for the man here not being big enough: He doesn't exactly look like a small man to me. Its difficult to pin down but I'd say he is at least six foot tall. so...
@davmod If Oscar walks among tall people, indeed it may be him. This film precedes the twentieth century's wars, which killed off many tall soldiers (men and boys under height not accepted into military).
thanks!!!! Yes this Hyde biography is, with Ellman's book, really one of the best books written about Oscar (and to give a credit to many other writers who wrote fantastic books on same subject)
00.22 if that's not Oscar Wilde I need my eyes seeing to!

Thanks for your video !*!*! Is him...I feel. Is him, sure. How much I would love to talk with him...or to listen his voice.

The man certainly looks tall enough to be Wilde, it would be lovely if it was.
As the great man said, "The public is wonderfully tolerant. It forgives everything except genius" Bonne soiree Oscar.

@davmod I hope so. I would love to challenge scholars to discover if this is really Oscar or not? Hope there will be some conclusion.
