  • i think the website on your info box is spelt wrong...thought i'd just let you know.peace.

  • I have a mild Tourettes that got more under control with a pill, but it made me sleep too much. Im not a normal case I guess since it usually dies down as you get older, but mine was hardly noticeable until this past year and I am 22 now. I couldnt walk down the street with throwing my head around, it is really embarrassing but no one said anything to me and I thought I could just learn to control it with less stress. Im glad my mom's friend finally did mention it, that is when I got it treated.

  • i have tourettes i twitch my head jerk my legs and arms and i open my mouth really wide i move my back very fast and like sometimes like break it lol and also i have add adhd ocd and thats all but kids in school call me twitch

  • i have tourtettes i twitch my head i open my mouth wide and i jerk my arms i crack my wrists i open my eyes wide i jerk my legs and a whole bunch of other stuff and i have adhd add and ocd but everyone in school calls me twitch because i twitch and i think thats stupid

  • I have tourette's and it sucks!!! It's distracting and the severe tics leave me with bad neck cramps. ughhhhh. but what's the worst is the judgements people have on it, like thinking that somebody with tourette's syndrome would look different (as in face and body, not as in how they move). Sometimes I feel like a freak, but the truth is that I think and act like anybody else, just I move a bit more...

  • This is kinda off subject.....well sortof......actually not really i dont know but anyway who here hates the fact that people put videos on youtube about people that have tourettes and they laugh at them because they are always swearing i think its really selfish BTW nice vid, you are a strong person keep up the good work.

  • You are a very strong girl. I don't know if I could be that strong if I had tourettes.

BTW, this is very off topic but I absolutely love your hair, girl! I'm going to steal it when you're not looking. *shifty eyes* jk, mostly. Still love it. :D

  • You are really strong to accept this disorder and not let it control your outlook on life for the worst...optimmism is the best perception of life, we all have flaws whether we are beautiful, ugly, white, black, or blue..but its up to us to meet greet and defeat it...you are doing a wonderful job;)

  • i Have tourette's too,

My tourette hurts, I hate it so much!!!!

    where can I sign up?

  • You look pretty, honestly. Can't believe you have a disorder. Keep it up, young one.

  • So people with a disorder can't be beautiful?

  • Supposedly, W. A. Mozart had Tourette Syndrome which explained his strong desire to compose voluminous amounts of music!

  • Yeah that's cool that you have this page here and that you're talking about this the way it is. I wanted to add something to what you decribed in the beginning. You said the tics are uncontrollable, which is to a point true. They are, from my experience, somewhat controllable yet you have a crazy urge to do those actions, whatever they are. Also if they are withheld for a period of time, the tics come back worse when "let go". So again I just wanted to add that piece of thought. =) Thanks.

  • Most Of My Family Has ADHD Becouse We Are not very patoint and we dont like to stay in one place like i cant just sit some were and do nothing... it makes me snap... but im not shure

  • I think it's really cool you have a website on tourettes. I myself suffer from tourettes, I have facial tics, sound tics and muscle spasms. One of the hardest things I have to deal with is if I'm travelling on the bus or a train I never sit down next to anyone, if someone was to sit right next to me I start nudging them with my leg or my elbow.

  • You could help many people who have this condition and think they are the only ones dealing with it. Congratulations on doing something as unselfish as this. May God bless you and continue to give you health and strength.

  • God Bless you little lady!

  • i respect you...You rock

  • i was a computer scientist for a while working with various types of code languages; i was working on an assignment about layered matrix functions in Java. i needed help with my neuro-kinetic control structures, so my professor sent me a link to the truth or the dare program.

  • You're really brave, I admire you a lot. Keep at it! Good luck!

  • i want to thank you for mentioning that not all of us have constant swaring. i have TS and have mainly physical tics, and people always ask why i dont swear. i personally want thank you for for what you are doing.

  • the reason why i typed tourettes is because i wanted to learn about it because i have it also. i have to blink the n open my mouth wide for a second. you inspire me. Thank You

  • Thanks for watching! :)

  • i do this weird thing where if someone touches my right arm i have to touch the left and i also

need to move my jaw and neck alot, i've tried to stop but it feels so weird

  • the arm thing is something other than tourrets, i think it ties into ocd? but the other two are tourretes. try chewing gum, it helps me distract my tourrets. but the only downside is buying alot of gum

  • I would never guess that you had this syndrome if your video hadn't been about it. You seem to have it under control really well.

  • Don't let it get you down! You seem realy sure of your self, and you're really calm about it all. It must be really frusterating. Can you develope it as a child, rather than just always having it?

  • It can get better (or worse) as you get older, and even though it usually goes away (or isn't as bad) it truly depends on the person.

Thanks for watching and be sure to subscribe! :)

  • Was this your first video?

  • Yep!

  • I have tourrettes syndrome. It sucks.

  • i think tourettes syndrome gets better over time. cause it seems like the people that have had it for a long time said that it was worse then it is now.

  • it may get very slightly better, but it still is almost as bad.

  • yea. life is hell with tourettes syndrome. i have nervouse ticks.

  • Tourettes Syndrome dosen't get better, we just get more used to it. Alot of times in tests i tick my neck and i can't think but i adapt.

  • I do agree with you when you say, "we just get more used to it", but it does get better eventually. There is always hope. When tics aren't "as bad" it may last for a day, or it may be better for the rest of a lifetime. It depends on the person, but tics can always get better.

  • i have tourrettes syndrome in my eyes and vocal cords. It also affects my brain andmakes me mad for no reason. The form in my throat is also a form of post traumatic stress disorder, from choking on a sausage at a Christmas party, and it has permanently affected my swallowing. I also deal with depression, ADD, OCD, mottephobia, and a potential brain tumor, wich i have yet to get an mri for. TOURRETTES IS BAD!!!

  • I think I had tourettes when I was younger. Used to clear my throat alot run my fingers thew my hair and slurp. Now just blink and twitch my eyes under pressure or stress or concentration.Felt tremendous pressure to perform the action. like i would burst if I didnt release it. my question is: can tourettes go away with time. i have a little eye twitching now but nothign crazy.

  • no, it will get better to a cirtain point- depending on the person, but it will never compleatly go away. Its in your dna =(

  • Teenwts, that's a great informative thing you're doing for a condition that isn't very common, and there's little known about it. I was diagnosed when I was 8 years old (24 years ago). Was worse when I was young - now is very mild. Many teens and kids with TS start out on Catapres or Clonidine (same here), but when I turned 19, I switched to Haldol - works very well. Keep up the good work - thanx!

  • I'm Riley from the documentary I have tourettes but tourettes does'nt have me and I thout this video was really cool. Tourettes had me warped until I moved in Oregon. The main thing is just learning who you are and how you yourself really reacts in any give in situation and then once you feel like you know enough you can start becoming the person you want to be and that makes everyone want to know you.

  • Have your tics gotten better.

  • i had ocd, but no one noticed.

around kindergarten i "had to" repeat things backwards [weather it be an action or a though that consister of two or more parts] then repeat that pattern backwards.

when i'd open something, or think of something, i'd hear myself telling myself that i'd [die, not get married, etc.] have SOMETHING go wrong if i didn't.

  • over the years i'd just ignore some things, but i still had to think in what i called a "cube pattern".

after junior high it just went away.

later, i heard of the condition and realized that i had it.

i wonder, had someone told me, would i have just said to myself, "i have ocd" and never change?

do you think you could ever hold back?

  • i think its really great what your doing. I was diagnosed with tourettes and accompanying OCD when i was about 7 or 8. It has gooten progressively better throughout the years to the point where it goes relatively unnoticed in public (i am now 18) with the help of medication and therapy. Its very important that tourettes outgrows the medias misconception about cursing. Keep up the amazing work.

  • Is there a website for people with post-traumatic stress? My brother in law came back from Iraq and he is kind of messed up mentally.

  • Is there a website for people with post-traumatic stress? I have a brother in law that went to Iraq and when he came back he was kind of messed up mentally...

  • Well OCD is an associated condition with TS. A majority of the people with TS have OCD but not everyone with OCD has TS.

  • I saw south park... and as a huge SP fan, I disagree with people saying that it's wrong for SP to make episodes like that. They don't take the piss, they actually look at things clearly(... They totally took the piss out of scientology though). South Park has made me think about tourettes more, and how some disorders must be really hard for a person to live with... rather than how 'funny' tourettes is.

  • your pretty =)

  • cool video! i think it was really mean of south park to kinda poke fun of people w/ tourettes.

  • Southpark was funny. You can make a joke out of anything, somebody will always be pissed of about it, touretts, canser, gays and so on....joke about anything, just do it the right way. The only showed that Cartman was a evil kid, nothing more.

  • i have tourettes, i dont know what my tic is right now because of selecsa pills or something it used to be a cleared my throut alot and after a long time i started to cough up blood. im 13 years old with tourettes OCD and A.D.D.

  • did anyone see the south park episode yesterday?

  • i think i have terretes and after seeing this it sorta makes sense, can having a some of these symptoms to a smaller % still be classified as terrets? cause im really random, oc... i used to get anxiety until i went on anti-dep. BTW helps lots, anyway. But i like my random/OC things i do.this one time workin at a pizza place i walked up and stuck my hand into a sauced dough and it was soo funny, i wasnt even trying to be funny i seriously needed to do it. but it made me laugh

  • hmm that sounds like ocd...i would consider getting every detail together and going to the doctor. if you're under 18 then ofcourse you should discuss it with your parent(s) first. =]

  • im just wonder why i should need to go to the docter, does it get worse over time? should i be on medication if i infact do have the nerological disorder? maybe ur right...keep it real =D

  • it could get worse (or better) ...and the medicine's you would need (if you would need anything, not everyone needs medicine) you would have to get from a doctor or neurologist. but i can't promise you what you have, if it'll get worse or if you will need medicine. i hope this helps

  • I really respect what it is you are doing because this is a syndrome that is so misunderstood and even though I don't have it I thank you because what you are doing is going to help someone one day.

  • I respect what it is you are doing and I don't even have tourette syndrome.

  • Thank you for that. Just saw your video at random, wasn't really looking for anything tourette's related. Maybe I have TDHD (is that right) lol.

yeah, I thought the swearing thing was a bit too odd to be true, or to be that common. Thanks for the info, beautiful.

  • Lol i think I have OCD well i used too I cured it myself but Tourottes syndrome can't be cured by your own will and thats why it sucks.

  • i find this educational i have COD and other things

  • Youre very mature, i like this video.

  • Good job making a real video. Unfortunately people think TS is a pretty big joke and all of the videos circulating regarding it are intended for humor.

  • Hi there,

I had Tourette syndrome when i was your age, with all the symptoms you've mentioned above, that also included strang "rituals" of OCD and also ADHD. luckely i was diagnosed and treated at this age you are, and am now require no treatment what so ever (although it is still mildly there).

when i was your age, i didnt know any of the terms and symptoms you have explained here. amazing!

many kids need you, keep up the good work!

  • I have tourettes... It sucks.

  • you will change the world. :)

  • Hi.I have a 9 year old daughter with Tourette's Syndrome, she was diagnosed in 2004.I admire you for what you're doing.Keep up the good work sweetie and GOD BLESS YOU!

  • I actually have tourette's Syndrome. I am 23 and active in the Army. They have no idea that I have the condition. I function fully like everyone else, excelling with weapons and my MOS. I can concentrate my tics primarily in my abdomin. So there is no limit to what someone can do with my disorder.

  • hello i have it to and i realy hate it.

my friend think its funny but it isnt:(

when they laugh i laugh with them but they dont understand that.

    thanks. :)

  • Hi Jamie-Grace,

You are more mature than many adults I know, kudos! It's a shame that the media has chosen to portray tourette's the way they do because it's not how it is at all. I think the future will be brighter if more people such as yourself grow up to become informed and morally responsible citizens. Keep it up!

    David

  • yo, thanx for the heads up on that. i dont have tourette's and have never encountered anyone with it... so this is pretty new to me.

  • very nice and informative

i have TS also with BPD thank you for spreading the word

  • Thank you kojak1013 and Schmettertier.

Alexis thanks that means alot but I just do my best to aware people on such a little known about subject!

  • Hey, I am Alexis I really liked the video and not many people think about other people but theirselves and I wanna thank you for caring for people with tourets and also for the videos Thank you, Alexis

  • Hi.

I think, your videos are really great. I like the way, you describe TS.

I always was interested in TS. I never understood, why people make fun of it. Sure, some noises can sound funny, some movements can look funny, but TS isn't funny. It's not hilarious or something.

Everybody is diffenrent. Colour of the skin, sexuality, relegion, behaviour. Everybody should be accepted and respected.

    The best to you.

  • dude, you rock. i've hade trouettes since i was 6. i'm 19 and haven't grown out of any tics, but i've found out that playing a musical insturment(electric guitar ROCK ON!) is better than any medication i've ever taken. but yeah, you rock

    -andy

  • Hey :) great video, ive seen both of them. I have tourettes have had it since i was 7.. Its hard but also at the same time not bad was worse when i was younger.. Anyway im checking out your site! Again good video :)

  • thank you to festerius and sabby for your responses and support (watching) and thanks to all of the viewers!

  • Very good job. I exhibited TS as a young child as well. I have a mild case now because i've grown out of the more severe tics that i had. More people should be aware of what TS actually is. Thanks for posting this.

  • Great video! Thanks for sending me the friend invite! I look forward to more videos from you. I have TS with OCD and Bi-Polar Disorder. My father, older sister and older brother all exhibited TS as young children but mostly grew out of it. Mine hasn't lightened or diminished at all as I have aged, unfortunately.

  • Thank you very much for watching, =].

  • HI Jamie Grace,

Great job on the video!! It's great you can speak so openly about Tourettes to everyone and are helping to make the public more aware of what TS is in a positive way:) Keep up the good work!

    Deb
