Casting perfect puzzle pieces

I tried to mold some things last week. Didn't come out so well, but I learned a good bit from my mistakes.

Wow, what a simple way to make small plastic parts. I like it. Also the Silicone, epoxy, mold release, shipping for my small project costs me $80 from Smooth on. Once you make a mold, you can make a lot of parts if you are careful not to tear up the Silicone mold. I am making a new plastic part from a broken one that I am using as a pattern. The new Epoxy part is WAY stronger than the original Styrene part. Thanks for the instruction video.

Wow, this stuff isn't very cheap. I was thinking about casting a new v-cube center becuase the v-cube company is too money cheap to let me buy a new piece, but it looks like it would be cheaper to just buy a new one. :(

yeha i just googled it. if you want to buy it pm me i'll give u a site. the oomoo 25 or 30 mould (doesnt really matter) is made from silicon rubber and doesnt rip alot. another way to do it is make a box, with the mould of the piece like he has it, but put a pour hole in the top.

i did this, and the top piece came out hollow when i gave it 15 seconds to silitify, but it worked out when i gave it a minute

part A and B are separate. when you mix them, they harden

the resin is Alumilite black (2 gallon with pump). my molds are made of Oomoo30

1:1 ration means if you pour 1oz of part A, you need to pour 1 oz of part B. Pot life = time until it becomes solid enough to not use effectively.
