Damn david banner is so damn cold, mixtapes shit downloading killed the industry ,no body takes a chance of different its all one sound, Ninth wonder truth
yes DB WAS SPITTIN on those features he mentioned.. but i never expected DB to do album like this.. dude was killin shit.. he just worked his way into my top 10 alive!!! shout to 9 WON!! BEATS ARE CRAZY.. 3RD OF THE MONTH CRAZY!!!
lol people need to look up david banner background lol.dude is college educated dude was offered a scholarship to go to mit but went to southern instead.
i don't get why everybody was so amazed that d. banner did an album like this. he always been way more conscious and skillful than your average rapper. the only thing that was a (pleasant) surprise is that he did a whole album with 9th, if u were shocked by anything besides that it's because u judged his earlier work on face-value.
@dawb86 man I got D Banners first album if you listen to it, it is deep I mean it has its club stuff d. banner is deep , when he came to South Carolina state people were not feeling him like that because they dont hear his stuff on the raido but , what killing rap and hip hop FEMALES they dont get it
@lsbright123 I know it's hard cause 2 a degree I think artists like Banner are still dealing with that same struggle they say 2Pac had, where they're trying to reach a particular audience with their message but in order to do that they have to make certain types of songs the single, then the majority judge them on those singles alone. I always respected DB's work because he always had songs on his albums with strong messages, thing is most don't know because most don't buy albums anymore.
Really People late .....he been like this ...he been lyrical and revolutionary.....he just doin it over 9th wonder beats now....Its not a surprise to me.....LOL
Davis banner is the last rapper I ever thought would make music like this.. I fucking love it... Death of a pop star is gonna be one of those real classic hip hop albums everyone should own! I really hope hip hop fans don't sleep on this album, cause this is what hip hop has been missing... REAL HIP HOP!!!!! Enough with this dancing electronic sounding bullshit rap songs today!
... I love hearing this man speak, he's always real. I wish he would post more videos like this --- listening to him express his thoughts and ideas is definitely something I would like to see more of. He has alot to say, and I'm willing to listen !!!
im pretty sure he meant to say James Brown, not Chris Brown lol. i like to hear what Banner has to say from time to time tho, it's inspiring as an artist.
Just heard your new song & man it's a BANGER homie!! The vid tripped me out, but the song is just dope!! Keep doing your thang & glad you & 9th wonder, who's a dope ass producer, are working together, dudes be sleeping on you guys!!
Dead on point talking about mixtapes. You look at someone like B.o.B. who had been doing mixtapes for a good 4 years, and THEN comes and drops his debut album. What do you get? Multiple #1 songs and a #1 debut. Banner's already proven himself to the hip hop world (at least the ones that are willing to listen to a southern rapper on a lyrical level). Yall stop this bullshit and support some real hip hop. DOAPS!
my thing is this I've been peeped where banner was tryin to take it to back on "LIke A Pimp" yeah it speaks on pimpin but the video was about the struggle! He shows us chasing off the kkk in the video, yall don't remember that part of video right? He was tryin to bring us in and then get us the msg! Rich Boy on the same thing if listen to his lyrics he speakin on the bullshit thas goin on!
nothing wrong with mixtapes my brotha, just dont let it be 'free' mixtapes ... sell them as if their albums (a little cheaper than an album) and receive a TON of Profit oppose to a portion that many rappers receive off of albums .... look at DJ Drama, other DJS and all those artist who get on mixtapes, they use those mixtapes to give the audience a buzz while at the same time it creates a stronger interest in the upcoming album ... but thats just my opinion. Much Respect 2 you D. Peace!

I wish DB went into depth of why Norfolk, Va was picked for the filming of the video. Brings back memories of when I went to school down there.
