I'm not a moshing kind of person, but I'm pretty sure I left several people with severe head trauma at a NIN concert in 2009 when they played this tune
the jew wanna selfdestroy me fuck you you ain't goona get it fuck you you are going to perish and die instead. I got your plt I caeless about you. die die go away die jew you are not going to hurt me at all. you are going to die instead.
October of 92. Bought this at Vista Ridge Mall in Lewisville, TX..runnin around with the freaks, stealing candy and stealing outside for a smoke beneath the bridge...the mall was ours...the world was ours...
doc martins too big for my feet..hair colored(but not bleached first), long but shaved underneath??...Charlie Don't Surf shirts and firey riots on the t.v....good times
Funny, the times got bad as soon as drugs hit our scene in 93.
i go both ways.. sometimes i get super depressed by the lyrics cause i can relate sometimes i'm able to use it for motivation because i don't wanna be down.
@RobCardIV NIN is not emo, even emo bands don't wanna be emo. Emo is dead and so is the trend and the gay hairstyles that go with it. Fuck you you deluded loser, how could you even buy into such a lame scene you fucking sheep. If you said anything about emo to trent he would either laugh at you or walk away. KEEF (Keep England Emo Free)
You are aware this album pre-dates the mainstream "emo" fad, no? Are you perhaps using hyperbole in the same way I'd say Bach's Menuet in G Minor (BWV Anh.115 in G Minor) is emo?
@MetalDrummer776 Actually...this does the opposite. Whenever I feel like I'm getting depressed, I turn this on, blare it, and scream along...I feel like a god.
@coldstaind91 I feel really good when i listen to it too cuz songs like this can send all my rage in a surge through my whole body and it actually feels amazing
@MetalDrummer776 Same, bro...fucking same...it feels so fucking good. Like I'm channeling all my rage and pain through one song....feels like immortality, this adrenaline.
I remember back in the 90's when I was so young and related to this music... the sad part is the this music is exactly what it was back then and now more. ...it is interesting to see music grow with you and with societythrough the years some things do not change. NIN are mystics or maybe not they saw the signs then....
The live studio version just seems... clearer. Not like the performance is necessarily better, it just sounds better mixed or something. Easier to hear the vocals, the melody. Sounds more solid. Bleh. Still a great song, though.
I prefer the album version compared to the video, they altered it but it was cool seeing Manson when he was younger and Richard Patrick of Filter guest in the video I still like this version better the original.
@Sarc37 i think the main difference between him and other people within the genre is that he's very clever, a natural muscian, imaginative and the serious depression can enhance all these attributes. And also, if you tear apart each of his songs, remove the distortion, heavy guitar riffs and in your face vocals there is a hidden gem behind each one. The other bands don't have that, not the ones i have come across anyway.
It was roughly around this time that I saw NIN live at the Fox Theater when they toured behind this EP. "Happiness In Slavery" was tearing up the dance charts and this record was one of the highest-charting EPs of all time...a wonderful moment in music history and one I will never forget. What Nirvana meant to clueless losers looking to ape another culture, NIN was for a generation looking for something new. I salute.
um nine inch nails never had a tour to promote this EP.Trent and other producers created a remix album titled "Fixed" to promote the EP.he did this cause he wanted to take a break to produce downward spiral after because he came from a tour series that lasted from 1988-1991.Then he produced The downward spiral and he then finally embarked on a Downward spiral tour series lasting from 1994-1996.So technicly Downward spiral was the second studio album and broken was just a little taste of was up
@MrEspaillat Well, Broken was an LP instead of an EP so yeah, but the reason it was was because his record company or whatever was screwing him over but he was still contracted to them.
Manson makes me sick tbh, not because he looks like a retarded slump of shit that deliberately destroys himself so he's impossibly attractive to humans but the fact that he decides to go and do that just to be infamous
I'm too militant and belligerent after listening to this to type anything constructive other than FUCK I LOVE THIS SONG. I LOVE THIS ALBUM. I LOVE NIN.
