  • matt miller.... woah lol

  • Wow, Beautiful Being. Artist is an understatement. This man is a Shaman.

  • justin timberlake + andy samberg + gerard butler = matisyahu!!

  • I thought he said, "He was once Mac Miller."

  • LOL he looks like jim halpert from the office!

  • Matis eats drugs? Well, I know what I'm doing this week end...

  • @mason0444 he did when he was on phish tour.

  • This guy is inspirational! Way to take application of talent and religion to an amazing level, seriously!

  • I think I'm in love!

  • This guy is absolutely awesome! The world needs this kind of breaking of molds. I saw an Orthodox Jewish band at a wedding in Brooklyn a few years ago, and they were phenomenal. I told the singer that he sounded alot like Robert Plant, and he responded, "who is that?". He laughed but was serious - he didn't know. Matisyahu is breaking barriers and he should be commended. I have many Orthodox friends in NYC, and they are beautiful people. It is nice to see a slice of it in pop culture.

  • he makes me proud to be jewish, i live in a mainly white christian town and get a lot of anti semetic shit from ignorant hicks. but when i go home and listen to matisyahu i forget it all.

  • You are my Hero bro

  • The one person that dislikes this video is hitlers great grandson. Doushe.

  • takin the Jamaican rasta music and zionizing it!! WOW

  • this guy is smart. much respect

  • 0:56.. AWW!

  • one asshole had to dislike this lol

  • OMG! i live like 20 minutes from where he grew up! :D

  • Matisyahu has great music, though i don't like how he can speak perfect English and sing like that with an accent. Sounds like he is faking.

  • @pdidyking ,Faking? idk what songs ur talking about bro. Talking and singing are two completley different things. Just like with any other artist, the way a person talks is different than the way the person sings.

  • @pdidyking A very heavy percentage of singers tend to lose their native accent when performing. Just look at someone like Elton John. Speaks with a fairly heavy British accent, sings like he has NONE. This is very common. I have heard Japanese singers who sound like they are from either Chicago or New York if you close your eyes. It's odd that this happens, I'll grant you. But not intentional, and certainly not for the sake of 'faking'.

  • haha that's so cool

  • ♥ I've never met Matisyahu, but i love him! Good person, inside and out. :D

  • If he ever shaves his beard I might die inside

  • Zionist

  • @tammychynn So...that's a BAD thing? Here in America we call it patriotism. Let me guess, you have an ax to grind, perhaps?

  • @ganzano Well then you don't know nothing about real Judaism!!

  • @tammychynn AHHHH!, I see!!! Only YOU and those who follow that which you believe, in the manner you prescribe, are to be considered "good" or "real" Jews.

They have a word for this type of closed-mindedness, BIGOT unless I miss my mark. Yes, that is it.

  • @ganzano I believe in Yeshua thats right.

  • c,mon man when i go to the themple in jerusalem and i want to go in there the priest will stop me becaurse i have a rasta head on and i most ask him can i where your head in there ...............lol get out of here just trying to be a star yeh right.

  • wow i started to listening to these songs yesterday and i love them. I only listen to his songs now. i love how much meaning he puts into his songs.

    This guy is a genius

  • hes very geniune

  • big respect for this man

  • @polyhydrant You beliving and saying what you say is a form of religion. You can't escape it, we're all fallen and flawed people.

  • great music, indeed may we all awaken

  • Seeing him without the beard is unreal!!, This is a great interview, one the best in my opinion...

  • the fact that he chose to be chasidim makes it so beautifull...

  • Wow the narrator's voice is amazing!

    So is Matisyahu's!

  • i saw him last night at the house of blues it was soooo great!

  • I'm a secular israeli jew and I've found this video very enlighting...

Here in israel orthodox jews are obviously not a rare sight and to be honest I don't usually see past the facial hair/black yermulke etc which in my mind are associated with fanaticism, primitivity and what not.

I can't really explain it but for a moment there I "ceased" to be me, my filters went down and I could feel what he was saying without projecting myself on it...

I hope he makes a good use of this talent of his.

  • @Belson20 I know how you feel. I live in a non-religious family. But when I listen to his music I feel connected to my jewish roots on another level (supernatural). I just wanted to say to you to not give up on judaism because it is a beautiful religion, and I myself am going to try to be more religious when I'm older. Plus I just wanted to say I've been to israel, it's a wonderful place and the people are nice there. God Bless from Australia.

  • @Grisha1994

    thx mate :)))

I might not plan on becoming religious but I definitly won't give up on judaism as it's more than just a religion. unlike other religions jews are "a people". we've had our own food, our own music and our own languages for as long as history can count. in addition to that my grandparents came from eastern europe meaning they've been through the holocaust for being jewish which is a fact I can't turn my back on.

greetings from the holy land :D

  • Matisyahu is the man!

  • He is my insparation he sings with meaning from his soul and his music is beautiful I just appreciate it so much

  • I would agree myself!!!!!! I love that he has made that connection in how reggae has somewhat relations to his jewish roots - at least the religious part........but you know what would have been fricken hilariously awesome.......if someone asked,"why did you want to do reggae music when you're a Jew?" and his response is something like," naw man, i just wanted to do reggae music!" hahaha! but that's good because in the music industry, i think it's about taking a risk and being able to crossover.

  • He is so expresional!!!!

  • just met him after jimmy kimmels concert

  • he is wise man

  • Awesome awesome awesome interview. His words are poetic, they speak for themself.

  • what a beautiful person

  • @rayanneflowers for people from the islands, like me, we love reggae music with a little bit of island twist in it! Anybody who can really rock reggae jams and have that kind of connection - - we're gonna rock to it too! :)

  • this video is great. i love the pics of him from when he was younger. would love to see more like that.

  • @louise22s no way the way he is now makes him unique. you take that away and you have nothing

  • and so he walked with god ..........

  • best matis inteview ...short but the best inteview
